Background
o Aligining with the 21st century skills, the newest curriculum
paradigm in Indonesia promotes “Merdeka Belajar”, which
means freedom in learning.
o In this new paradigm, Indonesian students are equipped to
uphold ethics, be a global citizen, collaborative, creative,
autonomous learner, and critical thinker.
o Teachers play a pivotal role in exploring various instructional
strategies in this new curriculum paradigm to promote the
critical values in student learning, such as ethics, global
citizenship, critical thinking, autonomy, creativity, and
collaboration.
o Advocating digital technologies in the classroom will support
teachers to shift from traditional teaching paradigms to
technology-enhanced teaching. Notably, this point is essential
in this disruptive era.
