I am a strong believer in TNR because M2 oFuthrkeirdsTo
it prevents the birth of stray puppies.
For example, one healthy female can
give birth to 6 puppies and the 6 will
grow up and give birth to another 6
and the numbers multiply exponential-
ly and it will be a never-ending cycle.

TNR is proven as the effective way
to reduce the size of strays and any
potential suffering that may occur.
Existing shelters are overflowing
with abandoned and sick dogs due
to lack of resources and funding.
TNR is definitely a humane way for-
ward for the strays and community.

I have always loved stray dogs, espe-
cially mongrels. I know it isn’t their fault
to be born unwanted and left homeless.
People pay breeders a lot for pedigrees
or from pet shops but I believe everyone
should give strays a chance for a home.

I encourage the public to consider
adoption first. I have adopted 2 myself,
my first ever dog in 2015 and my second
in 2019. My heart is so full of love and joy
with them both. The best doggos ever.

I’ve known the IAPWA Founder, Ms
Choong since our volunteer days at
4PAWS in Teluk Bahang. We’ve raised
funds, organised events together but
soon realised that animal shelters are
not the solution. In 2017, Ms Choong ap-
proached us with a proposal and guide
from IAPWA UK and ultimately, we es-
tablished our very own IAPWA Penang.

furkids as well as the community!

Taking care of a pet takes a lot of time, love and dedication. As much as dogs
are considered as human’s best friends, they are unable to take care of their
waste products. As responsible fur-parents, it is only right if we take good care
of our furkids when they are at home as well as when they are outside. When
you have decided to get a pet, you must always keep in mind that it is your
choice and that you have to make sure that they are in good hands and make

sure that they are living in a conducive environment.
If you are bringing your pets to a park, remember to leash your pet so that
it will not cause harm to others. Make sure that your pet does not cause
inconvenience to others. We must always keep in mind that there are people
who are afraid of animals and we have to take their worries into consideration.
When your pets poop in public, do be courteous enough to pick it up and
dispose of it accordingly. The public sphere is shared by everyone and it is the

right thing to ensure that everyone gets to enjoy the facilities.
Let us strive to make the world a better place for our furkids as well as the

community!
