EIA Yearbook 2016-2017

Assalamu Alaikum Dear Friends,

On behalf of the Edmonton Islamic Academy
Department of Athletics, it is my privilege to say
“Thank You” to all our athletes and choaches for
your dedication and support as we conclude the
2016–17 season.

The Legends success in the classroom this year
was matched only by their performance on the
field. This year, we witnessed great success in the
classroom and on the playing field. Many of our
student athletes have achieved high academy
grades and academic awards.

EIA has sustained a record of wide-ranging
achievement across all 19 sports teams programs,
and made a statement during the Jr. Junior-
High Basketball 2016–17 season with one of the
department’s most successful years in recent
memory. Our teams captured the Tier 2 City
Conference championships, a number of track and
field athletes, and badminton that qualified to the
city’s final that placed us in the top ten in the city.
We started a strong girls’ rugby program that took
part in multiple tournaments with one in Victory,
BC. Our girls’ rugby program has the potential to
be a very strong contender in the upcoming years.

I am very proud of the dedication and commitment
these young boys and girls demonstrated every day
as students, as athletes, and as the next generation
of world leaders. With God’s help, we will continue
to win championships, excel academically, and be
a model of what an EIA athletics should look like.
 
I cannot thank our coaches, staff, alumni, parents,
friends, fans, and drivers enough for their continued
support to our student-athletes’ success and their
passion for the mission of EIA Legends Athletics. 

I look forward to celebrating another exciting year
of uncompromising success.
