Foreword

Assalammualaikum W.B.T and peace be upon you,

Alhamdulillah, be thankful to Allah S.W.T because, with his bounty and grace, a book was published by a lecturer at the
Department of Electrical Engineering, Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic.
Congratulations and appreciation to the lecturers who have worked hard to contribute knowledge and skills to
successfully publish a reference book entitled AutoCAD For Electrical & Electronic Engineering. It is hoped that this effort
can be used as a source of inspiration for lecturers, especially to share knowledge through the field of writing in an effort
to convey knowledge to students and readers.

It is hoped that this book can be used as a major reference source for students, especially students majoring in Electrical
and Electronic Engineering and for readers who have been involved in related careers such as technicians and draftsmen.
Filling that emphasizes the use of AutoCAD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering with training based on the real
experience of its use in the industry can provide useful benefits to students and readers in general.
Finally, it is hoped that the publication of this book can be utilized best towards producing knowledgeable and highly
skilled students in line with the strengthening of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Malaysia.

Preface

The main purpose of this book is written is to present the method of performing tasks in practical work and end of the chapter to students in a
way that is easier to understand. Based on experience in teaching this subject. Student work results are somewhat less satisfactory than the actual
needs that students are supposed to achieve. In addition, the method of submitting assignments by students is quite unsystematic and it is difficult
for lecturers to check student work. As a result, the evaluation methods implemented could not be implemented efficiently and effectively. This
book is designed and prepared as an AutoCAD workbook for polytechnic diploma students. However, community college students, technical and
vocational stream students, high school students involved in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) subjects, technicians, draftsmen and anyone who wants
to develop an understanding of concepts and skills of drawing techniques using AutoCAD software can use this book. as additional resources
available to them. Experience in producing relatively complex technical drawings is not a prerequisite and a necessity to enable the reader to
follow the presentation of the contents of this book well. Readers are exposed to how to solve each problem discussed with ideas that are
organized and interesting to serve as a guide.

In writing this book, the author has used the experience gained while going through a skills course for university graduates under the Industrial
Skills Enhancement Program (INSEP) at the Selangor Human Resource Development Center (SHRDC), Shah Alam Selangor and followed the AutoCAD
professional certificate program at Autodesk Training Center UTM Semarak, Kuala Lumpur. While writing this book the author tries to present the
problem-solving flow through simple and concise descriptions accompanied by flow charts and block diagrams and show the basic concepts that
are important in the use of AutoCAD so that the reader can easily understand. Even so, readers themselves must be more diligent, diligent and
willing to read this book patiently and try to learn something from it.

The way this book is presented is based on the author's views on the easy-to-follow Computer-Aided Design (CAD) course learning approach. The
book is divided into two parts, namely six practical work assignments and four end chapters.
To help the reader understand the contents of this book, the author has provided some illustrated examples that are neatly arranged step by step
and easy to understand after each new technique or method is introduced.

The author would like to express his appreciation to the many individuals who without their support and encouragement this book could not have
been produced in this way. First of all to the reviewer of this book, Dr Wan Suhaimizan Bin Wan Zaki, Head of Department, Department of Electronic
Engineering, Faculty of Electrical & Electronic Engineering Universiti Tun Hussien Onn who has provided views, comments and thoughtful
suggestions to improve this book. Also to all fellow writers in the Department of Electrical Engineering of Kota Kinabalu Polytechnic in particular
who have and will use this book as a text for related courses. Not to be outdone are alumni and prospective students who always encourage writers
to keep writing.

Finally, this thank you is especially for the beloved family.

Reviewer & Commentator

Peace be upon you...

First of all, thank you to the author for trusting me to also provide opinions and comments on his writing in producing a
publication entitled AutoCAD Workbook for Electrical & Electronic Engineering Instructor & Students Reference Book.
First of all, congratulations to the group of writers for successfully publishing a book for the purpose of appropriate
teaching and learning at the Institution. This book emphasizes solution methods in using AutoCAD software in producing
technical drawings, especially in the field of Electrical & Electronic Engineering.

Students who use this book need to have pre-existing knowledge at the basic level of using AutoCAD software to
facilitate its use. The guidelines provided in this book are arranged in such a way as to lead students to solve a problem by
following the rules shared by the group of authors. The opinions and ideas presented by the author are one of the many
solutions available in solving problems in drawing work using AutoCAD software.

Students are expected to take advantage of the use of this book as a first step to getting started and becoming
proficient in using this software in the work of producing engineering drawings. The neat and attractive print appearance
of the book is one of the interesting features of this book. Since this book is only a guide in problem-solving for some of the
exercises presented only it is certain that the presentation style is simple and concise.

It is hoped that the publication of this book can launch the learning process of students in the institution and also give a
high motivation to the author to continue to work in producing better quality publications in the future.

Well done...
