BAHRAIN: The Country Doubles its 2035 Renewable Energy Target
11 February
Bahrain currently meets its entire electricity needs using natural gas (about 4,000MW), and the government has approved plans to build a 100MW solar power station as a public private partnership project.
The solar plant project will provide for 2.5 percent of the country’s electricity needs and the national goal is to increasing energy ef ciency by 6 percent by 2025.

UAE: Dubai’s Ruler Launches Marmoom Reserve Powered by Solar

The reserve is to be powered by a 5,000MW solar power complex.
The project will feature more than 20 environmental, cultural, and sports- related initiatives, all sponsored by nine local government agencies.

JORDAN: To Launch 30 MW Storage Project

As the United Arab Emirates (UAE) grows its solar capabilities, ABB solar inverters are helping villa owners in Hatta reduce energy bills by up to 40%. Earlier this month, UAE announced ambitious plans to invest $163bn to generate almost half the country’s power needs from renewable sources by 2050, with the aim to increase clean-energy contributions to 50% by 2050.
As part of this move to harness the power of the sun, ABB is supplying 600 UNO-DM- PLUS grid-connected single phase solar inverters to power new-build villas in Hatta, Dubai.
