Batesville-Brookville-Connersville-Oxford-Edinburgh-Centerville

Winchester-New Castle-Eaton-Aurora-Frankfort-Lebanon-Gas City

A word (or two) from Charlie.

Sales continue to be very strong for GHC and I am sure a good portion of this is due to material pricing. As I am sure
you know, lumber and building material prices are at an all-time high some by as much as 300-400%. Our April sales hit over 10
million for the first time ever and almost every store is having record months. Again, I say how fortunate we are to be in a
thriving business that has not been negatively impacted by the pandemic. I am sure that most of you are relieved to not have to
wear mask in the stores anymore, but of course if you choose, you are more than welcome to continue wearing them.

th
With good weather here, our 14 location in Hartford City is really starting to move along (see attached pictures). The
building slab should be poured within 2 weeks and then the steel building will go up shortly after that. As of now we are on
scheduled to open in September with a grand opening sometime in October. A big thank you to Danny Yoder, who is basically
supervising the construction and doing a great job. Not only was Danny instrumental in getting Gas City built, but he does
outside sales at there as well.
Hartford City Progress
Thank you, Danny.
We have a new addition here at the Central
Office. April McFarland will be assisting in the
Accounts Receivable Department, as well as other
areas as needed.

We have also added a home plan designer at
Our Batesville location, Tony Werner. Tony started on
May 24th and has spent many years in the
construction field and has significant computer
background and knowledge. Tony is a much-needed
addition to be able to draw blueprints for our clients
at Batesville and some other stores.
Welcome Tony and April!

With GHC’s continued to growth, we are adding on to the Central Office. We are converting an apartment that was
next to us into more office space and a much needed conference room. Several here in the office have been helping with
demolition and construction, thank you very much. In one day’s time, they got all of the demolition and most of the framing
done. At this rate we should be able to occupy it in the next few weeks. Thank you to everyone for your help!
The LBM (Lumber Building Material) Journal has done their annual ranking of the top 100 Lumber Building Material
st
Dealers in the United States. They rank GHC as the 51 largest in the United States. What an honor to be nationally
recognized. Here is the link if you would like to read the article.
https://lbmjournal.com/the-lbm-journal-100/

It is such a relief to finally see some significant light at the end of the tunnel in reference to the current pandemic. A
big thank you to all of you for all of your hard work and dedication for getting us thru it and to continue to help grow GHC and
make it the best it can be!

A FEW WORDS FROM PAUL…

I have been blessed to work for Gillman’s for the
last 11 years. Earlier this year I received a
summary of my Social Security earnings over my
lifetime. My 1 entry was in 1970 and I made
st
$487.00 that year at the age of 15 where I
pumped gas and washed taxi cabs after school
and on weekends.

51 years of working, WOW, gone in a flash. My
last 11 years have been a great journey with
Gillman’s. I started out as a department head,
graduated to assistant manager and eventually
manager of the Oxford branch. It was a shaky
start for me as manager but I want all of you to
know that with the support of Charlie, Mary Jo
and so many others at the home office, I was able
to succeed and have a great end to my career.
My coworkers have been the real reason for our
success in Oxford. Four of our current
employees, Paula, Steve, Rocky and Dave have
been there since the store opened in 2005, 16
years. My assistant manager Auggie, department
heads, cashiers, yard manager and drivers
continue to be the loyal and dedicated stabilizing
backbone of the store. You should all know that
in all the companies I have worked for,
GILLMAN’S, is by far the best at providing
support, coaching and the equipment needed to
operate a successful business. The support team
at the home office has grown in numbers and also
in quality as the company has grown from 6

KNOW THE GILLMAN DIFFERENCE

VS
THE OTHER GUYS
YOUR HELPFUL CORNER
TO UNDERSTANDING WHY YOUR
CUSTOMERS SHOULD CONTINUE TO
CHOOSE GILLMAN HOME CENTER
Did you know that all Gillman Home Centers offer the best quality lumber available
on the market? Many Big Boxes cut quality corners on many products, including the
lumber they offer their customers.

Treated lumber warranties vary by quality. Gillman ONLY SELLS treated lumber
rated as “Ground Contact”. This means that the lumber will be Warrantied even if it
comes into contact with the ground. Most big boxes either sell only “Non Ground
Contact” or price customers with the lower quality product before jumping them up in
price to the “Ground Contact” level. This versatility of lumber gives your customers a
wider variety of options for their varying projects.

Also, current competitor delivery times on lumber can range up to two weeks. All
Gillman Home Centers offer next day delivery (same day delivery in some cases).
Competitor Delivery fees can be from $50 to $150. We offer $15 Delivery inside of
20 miles.

As lumber sticker shock continues to plague our customers, these types of facts will
help your customer choose Gillman with confidence. Better Lumber, Faster.
