Learning
Outcomes 1. Produce design with complex surface and create photo-realistic rendering
and explore modeling tools to create finishing features. Create animation of
the design using Fusion 360.

2. Organise data using a centralized, cloud – based, collaboration platform and
produce drawing creation according to drawing standard.

3. Produce design of complex assembly mechanism, generate animations and
create toolpaths to produce setup sheet & NC code via post processing.

4. Produce variety of Analysis according to product design within time frame.

Teaching- Teaching-learning strategy:
learning and
Teaching and learning will be via face to face, collaborative learning, work-
assessment based learning and experiential methods. Students will also be required to do
strategy their own self-study and research for certain topics, homework, and
assignments.

DIPLOMA IN DESIGN DRAUGHTING TECHNOLOGY (MECHANICAL) 64

FIRST EDITION (JULY 2018)

Assessment strategy:

Assessment will be both formative and summative. Students learning will be
assessed using oral presentation, in classroom test, group assignment and
individual practical test. Peer evaluation will be part of the assessment of a team
work.

Mode of Delivery Lecture, Demonstration and Individual Project.

Synopsis This course introduces the student the capabilities of Autodesk Fusion 360 to
draw and design mechanical engineering drawing. The students will be exposed
to the application of high-end CAD/CAM software for generating geometric
modeling, part programming and also analysis. Student will learn the basic of
CAD/CAM software which enhance the easy way to program CNC machines.
Toolpath generation will be studied as an aid for practice and creative program
generation. New techniques in programming such as more complex surfaces, 3D
geometry, the CAD/CAM principles, post processor and variety of Analysis will
be learned.
