Teamwork Teamwork is the collaborative effort of a group of individuals working towards a common goal. It is an essential ingredient for success in various aspects of life, including the workplace, sports and personal endeavours. When people come together combining their unique strengths and skills, the collective power of teamwork can achieve remarkable outcomes. This essay explores the significance of teamwork and its positive impacts on individuals and organisations. One of the key advantages of teamwork is its ability to enhance performance and productivity. When individuals work together as a team, they pool their knowledge, skills, and expertise, creating a dynamic environment that fosters innovation and creativity. By leveraging the strengths of each team member, tasks can be delegated effectively, leading to increased efficiency and productivity. Collaboration and open communication within a team also facilitate problem-solving and decision-making, ensuring that the best ideas and solutions are considered. Shared Responsibilities and Accountability: Teamwork promotes shared responsibilities and accountability among team members. When everyone is actively involved in the team’s tasks and objectives, the burden of work is distributed more evenly. Through Collaboration, shared responsibilities, and a supportive environment, teams can accomplish goals that may be beyond the reach of individuals working alone. ~Shaik Farhana Anjum - X C

International Day for Biological Diversity The International Day for Biological Diversity serves as a global reminder of the critical importance of biodiversity conservation in sustaining life on Earth. In India, a land of diverse cultures and ecosystems, this day resonates deeply as the nation grapples with a myriad of environmental challenges across its states. From the towering Himalayas to the sun-kissed shores of the Indian Ocean, each region faces unique environmental issues that demand collective action and strategic planning. It is necessary to explore the intersection of biodiversity conservation and environmental challenges in India, highlighting the need for a unified approach to safeguard the nation's natural heritage. In the northern state of Uttarakhand, for example, the delicate Himalayan ecosystem faces threats from deforestation, landslides, and erratic weather patterns driven by climate change. Similarly, in West Bengal, the Sundarbans, the world’s largest mangrove forest, confronts habitat loss, pollution, and rising sea levels. Conservation efforts in both states must prioritise preserving biodiversity, protecting forests, and implementing sustainable land use practices to mitigate natural disasters and safeguard unique ecosystems. The desert state of Rajasthan battles water scarcity, soil degradation, and desertification, while Tamil Nadu grapples with issues such as water pollution, loss of coastal ecosystems, and extreme weather events. Sustainable water management practices, rainwater harvesting, afforestation, coastal zone management, and disaster preparedness initiatives are crucial for revitalising arid landscapes, preserving marine biodiversity, and enhancing resilience to climate change impacts. By integrating region-specific conservation strategies, leveraging indigenous knowledge, promoting community participation, and fostering inter-state collaboration, India can navigate the complex nexus of biodiversity conservation and environmental sustainability. Education, awareness, and advocacy play pivotal roles in mobilising support for conservation efforts and fostering a culture of environmental stewardship among citizens. In conclusion, the International Day for Biological Diversity serves as a catalyst for reflection, dialogue, and action towards safeguarding India’s natural heritage. By embracing the principles of unity in diversity and adopting a holistic approach to environmental conservation, India can pave the way for a more sustainable and resilient future for generations to come. Let us unite our efforts, celebrate our biodiversity, and work together to protect and preserve the incredible richness of life on Earth. ~Ayushi Singh-IX B

Generation Gap? A long time ago, there lived a boy named Rodney in a village. He was very happy with his family. But, his happiness could not last for long. Rodney and his fellow villagers faced a severe drought. They desperately waited for the rain, but with no luck. All the crops, land and even trees dried up. The cattle started dying. As there was no rain, the stream was drying up. Slowly, one night during a meeting with the villagers, Rodney said "Friends, we all have heard tales from our grandparents about an underground river flowing through our village. Why don't we dig and see?" The villagers agreed and started digging. They dug for some days but gave up soon. However, Rodney kept on digging until he found the underground river ! ~Akshata-VI C Don’t Give Up! here is a lot of difference in their life and ours. They used to remember phone numbers and had real friends. They used to care more for family and friends. They used to spend time with friends and family. We on the other hand have friends on Facebook and WhatsApp. We spend more time with mobile phones. We have become careless. We pay less attention when someone talks with us. Technology has made a modern - lifestyle much more comfortable and easier than in the past. During my grandparent’s time, life was rough and hard because all the works were done without any modern tool, so they had to do their laundry by hand walked from one place to another by feet There were limited entertainment choices in the past, they could at best listen to the radio or perhaps watch a black and white movie for entertainment. Today, however, living has become a lot easier thanks to technological developments. We can wash our clothes with a washing machine, use buses, subways to move to different places. ~Shristi Bhati-VII A

Poution and its Effects on Nature Pollution is the addition of unwanted substance into the environment that can change our earth. There are 4 main types of pollution; water pollution, air pollution, soil pollution and noise pollution. All kinds of pollution are because of our careless activities. We dump waste directly into rivers, ponds, lakes, seas and so on which results water pollution. Air pollution is caused when vehicles and factories release smoke into air. It affects atmosphere and it will become difficult to take oxygen freely if the air pollution will go on. Soil pollution is caused because of presence of human made chemical or other alternating things in natural soil environment. Noise pollution is caused by extreme noise of the industrial sector, transport, loudspeaker etc.The common thing in this pollution is human. We are the one who started this and we are the one who can stop this. Let us take a step to stop this for our future. ~Vungurala Jai Sri Krishna Mayuk -VII A Poution Now-a-days purity is must But pollution makes everything worst Food polluted, Water polluted and polluted air In these circumferences, survival is a dare Fever, corona, cough, malaria Lots of spreading in present scenario Streets, market and big malls All are polluted in and out of control We have to make check on it Then our lives will be super-hit! ~Naman Bansal-IXA

Let’s… Let's stop talking about bullies, Let's take care of each other, Let's bring our favourite snacks and let's sit and share. Let's sit and talk what is good in teachers, and how they teach. Let's study together and have fun learning. Let's spread our knowledge to others also, so that they can also teach others. Let's start reading novels to improve our reading skills and let's think about values. Let's take part in every activity to do our best, and achieve good prizes. ~Niveditha-IX A

Buying in Schools Even at the beginning of a new academic year ‘will my child be bullied?’ is question to be worried. It’s a new decade and bullying has been in the forefront of the media because of the tragedies it has created. A teenager in Massachusetts, Phoebe Prince, committed Suicide in 2010 after being bullied. Her death was a result of a new era of bullies. Many times it can be difficult to control what is happening to your child while they are in school. In fact they will most likely to hide it from you. Bullying happens at different level. Manipulative bullying happens with children who are coerced by another into doing things that they would not usually do. In many cases children with special needs have been the victims here. Conditional friendship also happens, where a child believes that the bully is their friend. When that friend is not happy the child will become the victim bearing the brunt of the anger or maliciousness. Exploitive bullying is another form of the child's condition which is used to bully them either by other classmates or via technology and social media networks. You as the parent are responsible to make sure that your children are comfortable and it's the job of the school to make sure that children are learning in the environment that is provided to them. As a parent you can help to prevent bullying in Schools by teaching your children how to be strong and confident. Teach your children about the power of kindness. Also instill in them the early warning signs that a person is a bully. Coach your children that hitting pushing and calling others names is not how we make friends. ~Harshita-X B

Captive Inside: A Pandemic Tale While turning over the leaves of the conversation, we shared many things after a relatively long gap of four weeks; starting from general Corona topics it moved to cinema, food, studies and often more personal stuffs. We have been together for almost twenty one years but never been kept so separated into two rooms while living in the same house. With a bored mind and a dried weather, twenty eight days of quarantine spent with at most tension. Even the nature stood still during the mornings. Dew drops were afraid to come out… Birds never chirped … No women found outside washing their clothes with heavy ttupp ttupp noise… Cooker didn’t whistle… Mixer didn’t cry… Hot blazing afternoon sun amplified the stress. Channels competed to provide the fresh Corona news to the viewers so I stopped watching it out of news phobia. On the twenty seventh night I asked my beloved sister to come to my room. We started talking at 11’o clock in the night which continued for hours and hours. I went to sleep on twenty eighth morning at 3’o clock after the long conversation by thanking god for keeping us safe. Lock down was never been a so called Corona vacation for me because my father was a government employee whose job comes under the essential service list and my sister travelled around sixteen hours by train to reach home unlike others who simply sit at home, eating, enjoying and having fun in violating the measures government had taken to make the situation under control. Things were never been so impractical before. Every problem had a solution. Covid 19 was a different thing that defied the definition of a problem. It closed all the loopholes of relief and ties man in one string of death. Arguments about the outbreak of the virus questioned the logic like a two edged sword. Beyond the technical and scientific proofs that were being mysteriously rumoured, I would rather account the condition as an atrocious punishment for the enormity of human sin. But the victims may not be specifically those who violated the law of the nature. Everyone had to suffer and it was simply survival of the fittest. Continued…

Having ground in the concept of natural selection, those people who were healthy with god’s grace survived and the rest being in the high risk category were more vulnerable to the disease. At some places corpses were dumped like rubbish pile as there were not enough living beings to control the situations where as things were not that panic at some other places. With astonishing insight man realised his helplessness in front of nature whether the problem is created by him or not. Fate being a grimaced butcher, many developed countries were ruthlessly slaughtered. It has been nearly one and half months we were under pressure. The boiling summer magnified worries. Days are too scorching to live through. Shortage of electricity made spending the afternoon hours an uneven task. Like an infant, leaves of fan toddled slowly pretending that it is working hard. AC died without much explanation. Saving the body from sweating is the hardest battle to be fought. As always I lost. It is not easy to win the hottest April of Kerala. Lock down, social distancing and water scarcity altogether played an awful game. Hope nature won’t be that cruel… Being upstairs was spending time in an oven during summer days. An occasional muggy breeze hit the transparent jagged window panes. Air was not fresh and open, but the condition is far better. So I started reading the fiction and thought of improving my literary skills. Nothing favoured… an afternoon nap wagged its tail inside my eyes. Within minutes I fell asleep… ~Ardra.K.V PGT (English)

Modesty In the quiet footsteps of the humble, we find, A path less trodden, yet rich with kind, For modesty whispers, never shouts, In the depths of silence, it devoutly sprouts. Follow the modest, their deeds unseen, Yet in their shadows, virtues keen, They walk not for applause or grand parade, But in the quiet glade, their grace displayed. In modesty's embrace, ego takes flight, Leaving room for others in the light, For in following, we learn to yield, To the wisdom of humility's shield. So let us follow, with hearts sincere, The modest souls, ever near, For in their gentle steps, we find, A path to peace, both heart and mind. ~Kavitha Kutty, TGT (English)

Darlings of My Life! In the quiet glow of twilight's embrace, Amidst the echoes of a bustling place, There blooms a joy beyond compare, When students' love and care I bear. A gentle smile, a heartfelt word, From tender hearts, like songbirds, Their affection, a cherished treasure, Fills my soul with boundless pleasure. For in their eyes, I see the light, Of knowledge blossoming, shining bright, Their gratitude, a gentle breeze, That whispers secrets of serene ease. Their laughter, like a melody, Resonates with harmony, Each gesture, each embrace, Fuels my spirit with grace. To know my efforts touch their lives, Brings solace amidst life's dives, In their growth, I find my pride, A teacher's joy, forever tied. So let me bask in this sweet embrace, Of love and affection, in this space, For in the hearts of those I teach, Lies the happiness I'll always reach. ~ Kavitha Kutty, TGT (English)

My Hero When you stand at the border With your gun and shell In heat and cold, There we find a total order Sweet ringing of the bell And nation stands bold. You, dear soldier, are a hero Who doth not ever think Of family & yourself; Nor do you ever heed to 'zero' That might sink The whole life Into that 'Great Nothing’. Things stand still And are frozen But you keep ever moving Without a blink Of the eyes sunken. Life is never too certain If not simply saved From risk and fear. You have your shell & gun That greatly roared With sure fire. You brought great laurels With your barrels That aimed for sure The foes within And the shadows That lurk without. ~ Nilesh Jadhav, TGT (English)

Building Blocks of Focus: Nurturing Young Minds for Lifelong Learning Creating an environment conducive to learning is crucial for young students. Start by establishing a quiet and organized study space, free from distractions like noisy toys or electronics. Break study sessions into short, focused intervals with breaks in between to maintain interest and prevent fatigue. Incorporate colorful and interactive learning materials, such as educational games or illustrated books, to make the learning process enjoyable and engaging. Establishing a consistent routine helps children develop a sense of structure, making it easier for them to transition into study time. Parents can play a vital role by offering encouragement and actively participating in their child's learning journey. To enhance concentration, introduce mnemonic devices and visual aids to make information more memorable. Utilize storytelling techniques to convey concepts in an imaginative and relatable way. Praise effort and persistence rather than solely focusing on correct answers, fostering a positive mindset towards learning. Involving parents in educational activities at home not only strengthens the parent-child bond but also creates a supportive learning environment. By implementing these simple strategies, young students can develop effective study habits, stay focused, and cultivate a lifelong love for learning. ~M. Padmavati (PRT)

Embracing mistakes : Turning Missteps into Learning Opportunities We all do mistakes, and doing mistakes is a part of our journey without making any mistakes we won't learn anything in life, and for a successful future and to achieve goals in our life we should Put our best efforts and make mistakes. Without failures there is no enjoyment and no learning. We learn about ourselves through our mistakes and even learn how to become a better citizen for the society, They mould you to be the best version of yourself. Also these mistakes will help you to bolster your confidence, And we should always use the opportunity that god has given to all of us, Each new day we learn many things and we loose many things but the only thing that we get from each and every day Is a positive lesson that will help us In a better way. I believe that if we didn’t learn from our mistakes, there would be so many things wrong in the world, and nothing would have developed or ever got discovered or invented, because I know for a fact whoever invented the computer and other people who updated them didn’t get it all right the first try, and had to make mistakes to learn and grow from them to help them succeed. You must not let the fear of failure keep you from trying new things, new experiences will let you be the better version of yourself and during this process, you will open yourself to new possibilities of creativity and innovation. Those mistakes will not define who you are and you must accept the fact that you can’t control everything everywhere. ~ Ishika Goyal (PRT)

Gratitude: The Key to Unlocking Joy and Fulfilment In a world often characterized by hustle and bustle, it's easy to lose sight of the simple yet profound practice of gratitude. Yet, nestled within this seemingly straightforward concept lies the power to transform our lives in ways we never imagined. Gratitude isn't just about saying "thank you" for the good things in life; it's about cultivating a mindset of appreciation and recognition for all that surrounds us, both big and small. At its core, gratitude is a shift in perspective—a conscious choice to focus on the abundance rather than scarcity, the beauty rather than imperfection, and the blessings rather than burdens. When we embrace gratitude, we unlock a reservoir of joy and fulfilment that enriches every aspect of our existence. One of the remarkable aspects of gratitude is its ability to transcend circumstances. It doesn't require a perfect life or an abundance of material wealth; rather, it thrives in the moments of simplicity and sincerity. Whether it's a breathtaking sunrise, a heartfelt conversation with a loved one, or a warm cup of tea on a cold day, gratitude invites us to savour life's fleeting moments and find beauty in the everyday. But gratitude isn't just a fleeting feeling; it's a practice—an intentional commitment to cultivate appreciation in our daily lives. This practice can take many forms, from keeping a gratitude journal to expressing thanks to those around us, to simply taking a moment each day to pause and reflect on the blessings in our lives. By incorporating these small yet meaningful gestures into our routines, we train our minds to seek out the positive, even in the midst of challenges. Moreover, the benefits of gratitude extend far beyond fleeting moments of happiness. Research has shown that cultivating a grateful mindset can lead to a host of physical, emotional, and social benefits. From reduced stress and improved sleep to enhanced resilience and stronger relationships, the ripple effects of gratitude are profound and far-reaching. In essence, gratitude is a gateway to a more meaningful and fulfilling life. It reminds us to slow down, appreciate the present moment, and connect with the abundance that surrounds us. As we journey through life, let us remember the transformative power of gratitude—a key that unlocks the door to joy, fulfillment, and a deeper sense of connection to ourselves and the world around us. ~ Ankita Sharma ( PRT)
