Fully attuned to the needs of his society, Don Bosco did not visualize education in isolation from the community within whose parameters it functioned. Vocational guidance, vocational training, job placement and follow-up were as integral to Don Bosco's scheme of things as they are in modern education.

Our ACADEMIC OFFERINGS In aliation with the Bengaluru North University, Don Bosco College oers six undergraduate courses this year. Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) The BCA programme provides essential skills for the students to create a successful career in the information technology domain as well as preparing them to pursue post graduate studies like MCA, MTech., MS in Computers, MBA etc. anywhere in the world for greater competence. Spread across six semesters in three years, the BCA course is the right blend of theory and practice enabling the students to make a career in computer applications or equip them for self-employment. During the course, the students go through intensive theoretical and practical training sessions in various aspects of computer science. In addition, they are enriched with knowledge beyond the curriculum through various value-added courses, certicate courses, seminars, workshops, industrial visits etc. The curriculum is appropriately structured for the holistic development of the students and aims at nurturing them as procient computer professionals. Eligibility: A minimum of 60% in PUC/10+2/Pre-University equivalent courses in Science, Arts or Commerce. Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) The BBA programme is a 3-year (6 semesters) regular programme, aimed at providing high-quality professional management education to enthusiastic young persons, who wish to learn managerial and entrepreneurial skills and take up careers as management executives in industry, business, or in non-prots. It is also the right foundation for those who aim to take up specialisations in post graduate management studies. A BBA oers a wide range of opportunities to the students to excel in their areas of interest and acquire the skills required to be future managers. Eligibility: A minimum of 60% aggregate marks including languages, in any PUC/10+2/Pre-University equivalent courses. Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) BCom is a 3-year degree programme spread over six semesters. Commerce and industry are the pillars of any economy. The objective of this course is to familiarise the student with dierent aspects related to accounting, nance, banking, business, organisational behaviour and the economy. Through a BCom, a student gains a comprehensive view of the functioning of an organisation while cultivating good communication skills. Bachelor of Science (BSc) Our BSc programme spans three years, providing a strong foundation in Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Programming. Students can opt for careers in the IT sector, particularly in Programming and Software Engineering. Students can choose to pursue their master’s in Computer Applications, Science or Management with a specialisation in Statistics. Eligibility: A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in any PUC/10+2 / Pre-University equivalent courses. Candidates should have studied at least two subjects from among Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics or Physics. Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) The BSW programme gives students the knowledge and skills to succeed in the eld of social work, oering them a broad foundation for generalist social work practice. Students learn how to serve individuals, groups, families, and communities, with a focus on underserved or oppressed sections of society. Students can enter the human services eld immediately after graduation or expand their education with more specialised social work studies through postgraduate courses. Eligibility: A minimum of 40% aggregate marks including languages, in any PUC/10+2/Pre-University equivalent courses. Bachelor of Arts (BA JPEng) Our BA programme oers an exciting combination of Liberal Arts—Journalism, Psychology and English Literature—providing a broad platform of complementary studies that helps students to succeed as communicators in today's complex world. In the Journalism component, students learn Reporting, Editing, Media Laws, Basic Audio-Visual Media, and Media Management etc., preparing them for both professional and academic careers in communication. The Psychology component equips students with theoretical and practical knowledge of aspects such as child psychology, industrial psychology, counselling, personality development etc. The Optional English course enables students to understand the literary, cultural, and social dynamism of the English language. The course explores European and Non-European writing, integrating Indian writing in English to facilitate a transcendence of linguistic nativism.
