REGISTRATION OPENS JANUARY 2

• The president and six trustees are elected and serve on a volunteer basis for a term of four
years.
• Board meetings are scheduled on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month at 6pm
in the Board Room of the Noble Center, located at 1125 W. Lake Avenue, unless otherwise
noted.
• Board Meeting Dates: 1/9, 1/23, 2/13, 2/27, 3/13, 3/27, 4/10, 4/24, 5/8, 5/22.

In this awesome art camp, kids will splatter, spray, and smear…
and bend, twist, model, and mold…while learning different
ways to paint, collage, print, sculpt, and more.

Half-day camps will make and play strictly at the PlayHouse.
Full-day camps will participate in daily art-related field trips to
galleries, museums, artist’s studios, and public sculpture in order
to learn all about the art in our community.

Full-day camp has before and aftercare available starting at
8am and ending at 5pm for an additional fee of $10 per day.

RIVERPLEX SUMMER DAY CAMP: AGE 5-12

Fee-R (members are residents): $145/NR: $155 per week (Week 1 & Week 6: $116/$124 due to holiday)
Camp hours: 9:00am-4:30pm - Extended Care: 6:45-9:00am and 4:30-5:30pm (included in fee)

Our program provides a wide variety of activities including: playing in our indoor AquaPlex, climbing our 30 foot rock
wall; arts and crafts; health and fitness, and sports activities in our climate controlled arena. In addition, we access the
Rolling River Playground, the RiverFront biking/walking trail, and much more. Counselors are trained in leadership,
safety procedures, behavior management, activities and supervisory skills. Children will be grouped according to age
in 5 different groups at camp. Campers should bring their own lunch, swimsuit and towel on a daily basis and should
always wear gym shoes. Drinks and snacks will be provided in the afternoon. All weekly fieldtrips are included in the
price of the weekly fee (filedtrips are subject to change.) Sign up early as spots are limited to the first 88 children.

Ancient Oaks Day Camp is all about having fun and educational experiences in the great outdoors. Weekly themes
reflect on a variety of fun events and plenty of hands-on activities. Located on 320 acres, Sommer Park consists of
woods, open fields, hiking trails, ponds and a neighborhood park.
Ancient Oaks Day Camp is the best place to be this summer as we celebrate our 49th season of memories for children
and adults. Our weekly hotdog/s’more roast and singing tree held every Friday is a fun tradition for campers! Pre-camp
tours available by appointment by calling 657-8855.

Let your imagination run free with ‘hands-on’ activities in the fine arts designed to challenge your creative skills.

Week 4 PWC02103-04 Nature’s Art: Begin the week with a guided hike where you’ll discover the color,
June 17-21 symmetry, texture and patterns in nature. We will study line, shape, space, texture,
light and shade. You will keep a sketch journal of your own nature drawings which
you will turn into art projects.
Week 5 PWC02103-05 Ancient Art: Learn about art before paper and canvas. This week will take you back
June 24-28 to the beginning and teach about cave drawings, hieroglyphics, ancient sculptures,
and Greek art. This unique form of art will not only sharpen your art skills, but teach
history at the same time!
Week 6 PWC02103-06 Trash to Treasure: We know that anything can be turned in to a work of art! Come
July 1-5* get your hands dirty and turn ordinary items that would be thrown out in to beautiful

Week 7 PWC02103-07 Sculpting by Design: Sculpture is three-dimensional artwork created by shaping or
July 8-12 combining materials. Materials may be worked by removal such as carving; or they
may be assembled such as by gluing, or hardened such as by firing. Our sculpture
lessons include forming carving, collaging, gluing, and more and make use of mate-
rials such as clay, wood, soap, paper, tape, beans, foam, metal, stones, and more.
Week 8 PWC02103-08 World Color: Celebrate diversity with a week of multicultural art projects from many
July 15-19 different cultures including Africa, Australia, Asia, the Middle East and Mexico.

In 2019, Zoo Camp will integrate elements of science, technology,
engineering, art, and math (STEAM) to explore the world of animals. Each
week includes: Animal Encounters, Tours, Crafts, Games, and more!
Our Zoo Camp sessions are designed to meet the needs, interests and
expectations appropriate to the developmental stage of campers at a
particular grade level, so it is important that these guidelines are followed.
Please do not request to enroll children in other grade categories.

• Programs will fill quickly and are on a first come, first served basis.
• Registration fees are non-refundable and are required at time of

Owens Recreation Center is an indoor ice skating facility featuring two full-size NHL
rinks. Owens offers year-round ice skating lessons for ages 3+ and comprehensive
hockey and figure skating programs.


Family Skate ends for the Season on February 24. Every Sunday, families (up to 5 people) can skate for
$25 (including skate rentals). Additional skaters pay $4.75 each.
Public Skate Passes - Get a 10 visit pass for only $32 (Juniors and Seniors) or $42 (Adults). Skate rental
is available for an additional $3 per visit.
Group Discounts: A discounted rate of $4.75/person is given to groups of 10-50 who make a
reservation at least two weeks in advance. No passes may be used. A $23.75 non-refundable deposit
required for groups of 20 or more. No group reservations during holiday hours. FEA

The Peoria PlayHouse Children’s Museum is a hands-on, interactive space featuring
six exhibits allowing children to play, explore, imagine, and create. Splash in the
water table, mold with kinetic sand, send balls through wind tubes, make your own
constructions in Real Tools, and more!

The PlayHouse was created in collaboration with the Junior League of Peoria and
Peoria Zoological Society, and opened in 2015. It is located in Glen Oak Park, near
Peoria Zoo and Luthy Botanical Garden, providing a full-day destination for families in
our region.

Illinois State Nature Preserve. Seven miles of
hiking trails traverse bluffed forestland and open

BASKETBALL




Youth Basketball League
Youth of all ability will learn the skills necessary to enjoy
the game of basketball for life. Under the instruction of
volunteer coaches, participants will develop techniques,
knowledge, and strategy with an emphasis on fun,
sportsmanship, and fair play.
• 5yrs-Kindergarten: This league will involve 30
minutes of practice time and 30 minutes to play a
game at the end of practice.
• Grades 1-4: Practices are 1 hour at 5:30 or 6:30pm
during the week; Games on Saturday mornings will
be played at 9, 10 or 11am at Lakeview Rec Center.
• Grades 5-6: Practices are 1 hour at 7:30pm during
the week; games on Saturday will be played at 9,
10, or 11am at Lakeview Rec Center.
• Parent-Athlete-Meeting (PAC) Meetings are
mandatory. The meeting will be held January 16 at Youth Sports Gold Sponsors
5:30pm for 5 years-2nd grade, at 6:15pm for 3rd-
