To most pollinators, sweet fragrances are
associated with liquid nectar and pollen that
contain highly nutritious sugars, both of which
orchids do not have. As pollinators go from flower
to flower in search of food, some witty orchids will
deposit their specialised pollen sacs on them. Other
orchids emit foul odours similar to that of rotting
meat or faeces in hope of attracting flies, gnats, or
beetles, which are their pollinators.

Due to the large amount of energy needed to
produce fragrance compounds, the scents of
different plants are usually released at different
times of the day according to the daily habits of
desired pollinators to increase their chances of
pollination. For example, orchids that are
pollinated by moths are the most fragrant at night
when moths are active, while orchids that are
fragrant during the day smell the strongest when it
is warm and sunny to attract birds and bees.

In Scentsational Orchids, orchids are divided into
four basic fragrance groups: Delicate Floral,
Sweet Floral, Spicy Floral, and Intense Floral.

Scentsational Orchids is the fourth installment of the bi-annual changing

genera and showcase their fascinating forms and myriad colours.
While orchids may not be the first that come to mind when we talk
about flowers with fragrances, did you know that orchids also have an
