THE LEGACY OFJACK BAIN’S BARJack Bain, a Thai-Scotsman, was the son of William Bain, the manager of the Borneo Company, which operated logging concessions in northern Thailand from the colonial era until the 1960s. Raised in a teak homestead near the Ping River in Chiang Mai, Jack later became a manager himself and raised his family in the same house.
