Getting Started

Load the 3D Issue software via the 3D Issue
shortcut icon on your desktop or from the
start or applications menu and select ‘Create
New Issue’. Simply select the PDF file or files
for conversion into a digital edition then click
‘Open’.
Alternatively, you can drag and drop one or
more documents to automatically create a
new issue. 3D Issue allows for the import
of single or multiple page PDFs. Both types
of files may be imported into the software
together.

The first of the 3D Issue tabs you’ll see is the content
tab. This is where the initial setup takes place. Click on the ‘Setup’
button to begin.
Under the content tab you will see the Template and
Profile fields. The template represents a branding
template for your publications.

The profile tab must be used on initial software setup
and contains the following fields:

1. Details

This area allows you to give your branding
template a more meaningful name and also
contains a copyright section. We’ve provided
default text but feel free to modify it if needs
be. You can use the link button provided
on screen to link out to a copyright section
which you may have available on yours or
your client’s website.

2. Log & Text

This area is used for company branding.
Choose the logo, or if preferred, some text
which will display in the top left corner of
each publication.

3. Domains

Here you must add the server where your
publications will be uploaded. Simply select
the add button and enter the URL. You can
also enter a Google Analytics ID and you can
add multiple server locations.

4. Profile

Here you can add or remove profiles, enter
your profile name or enter a publication title.
Once you are happy, click finish and you will
be returned to the content tab screen.

In the content tab, the layout feature gives you
3 options, single page spread, double page spread
and a mixture of both. Select the appropriate
layout for your PDF - i.e. if your PDF is a single
page spread, select a single page layout.

Page order

Finally, before moving on to the Design tab, you
might want to edit the page/file order. You can do
this by navigating with the arrow tabs and using
the Add (allow for the addition of a new PDF file),
Remove (take away the selected file) & Remove all
features (clear the list of PDF files, allowing for new
ones).

Remove Bleed

This option allows for the removal of a border
which is used only where content is going to print
as hard copy. The bleed may be removed manually
or automatically in 3D Issue.
