Greetings from the Korean representative We are very happy to do a ceramic exchange event at Burapha University, where Thai brains are gathered. For the past few years, the whole world hasstopped due to COVID-19. Now we're starting anew. Here at Burapha University. Our "Korea Ceramic Arts Association" is a group of ceramists who want to continue the pride of beautiful ceramic culture that has maintained the center of living culture in Korea's long history and tradition. Our Korean ceramists will do their best. I think it will be a great and successful event as much as we worked hard. After this event, we hope to promote each other's ceramic culture through continuous and active exchanges in Korea and Thailand. The Burapha International Ceramics Exhibition 2024 (BIC2024) Report" The Department of Ceramic Design, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Burapha University, is dedicated to promoting and developing the exchange of knowledge in ceramics through creative thinking and design processes among artists, professors, students, and the general public. Additionally, we aim to create networks of collaboration and knowledge-sharing in ceramics at both national and international levels. The BIC2024 project, organized collaboratively by the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Burapha University, various educational institutions in Thailand offering ceramics education, the Korea Ceramic Art Association from South Korea, Jingdezhen Ceramic University and Jingdezhen University from the People's Republic of China, and Kala Bhavana, Visva-Bharati University from India, has been ongoing for several years. This project provides opportunities for showcasing artworks, exchanging knowledge in art and ceramic design among artists, professors, students, and the general public, as well as educational institutions offering ceramics education at both national and international levels. The project aims to create a platform to showcase the potential of ceramics art and design at the international level, fostering networks among ceramic artists and designers. This contributes to the sustainable development of the ceramics art industry in Thailand and promotes international cultural exchange, aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities, Target 11.4 - Protecting and Safeguarding the World's Cultural and Natural Heritage. Message from Dean of the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Burapha University According to the Burapha University strategy which is directly involved art, design and culture. As Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts in charge of moving the art, design, and culture strategy forward to achieve the target through the accumulation, creation, integration, development and expend cooperation and networking between various parties. Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts’ guidelines on the combined vision of “Academic excellence, Sustain the arts, Honor morality, Lead to international stage” The Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at Burapha University's main mission is to promote arts and culture, which includes both the creation and publication of multidimensional works. The 2nd Burapha International Ceramuic 2024 (BIC 2024) is hold at an Exhibition hall at the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at Burapha University. More than 130 works by academics, artists and designers from around the globe will be presented in this special exhibition to provide a good way for academic, experience and cultural sharing. The Korea Ceramic Arts Association sent 10 artists to the workshop. We also consider it an honor that Jingdezhen University artists have submitted their artworks. Gallery 2024 BangSaen Gallery 2024 BangSaen My role as an explorer was initiated when I was a child and my doodles were treated as treasures. Moving from Thailand exposed me to unforgettable experiences that changed my life and the way I make art. Immersed in an unfamiliar culture, I initially tried to blend in and found myself slowly conforming to societal norms. My work imagines how dinosaurs from my narrative would feel living in our modern world - to feel out of place and not know the world as they understand it. Like them, I sometimes feel like a dinosaur in new environments, fearing I don't belong. However, I eventually learned to embrace my true self, understanding that happiness doesn't require conformity. Throughout my career as an artist, I have explored and tried to dissect the idea of the power of identity and the diversity of multiculturalism. Rather than keeping my narratives on two-dimensional grounds, I have chosen to express through the existence of three- dimensional objects where a sense of reality is tangible - almost ready to be held. My sculptures and objects also present a glimpse of surrealism and imagination coming to life on the surface as I decorate them. Gallery 2024 BangSaen Gallery 2024 BangSaen This is a set of teapot ceramic works, made of kaolin from Jingdezhen, China, and fired with high-temperature colored glaze at 1380 degrees Celsius. This work adopts the traditional painting technique of "blue and white, underglaze red" from Jingdezhen, which originated in the late Yuan Dynasty (around 1368 AD). This set of works consists of two teapots, one with a round shape and the other with a square shape. They echo each other, giving people a soft and strong feeling. The painting theme is the upward vitality, one is the concrete blooming flowers, and the other is the abstract continuous branches and leaves. So it's called passionate growth.
