Evolution and adaptation

Sony originally opted for approximately 650 Herman Miller Ethospace
workstations at its Weybridge site, impressed with both its sturdiness and
flexibility. In recent years, the growth of the site has led to demand for a
further 200 spaces, which has led to a migration to the Vantage system.
This has enabled them to exploit the available space even further whilst
retaining and functional, uncluttered space.
Following the recent closure of Sony’s Thatcham offices, a re-organisation
at their Basingstoke office has increased capacity to 2,000. Following a
trip to Herman Miller in the USA, Sony’s facilities team returned inspired,
now able to view their workspaces and how staff interacted with them in a
completely different way. Working with MJF Office to replace their existing
Herman Miller and Knoll products with Herman Miller AE 120 degree
workstations, they were able to increase their usable working area by 20%.
MJF Office have also designed many new areas, such as the Village Green,
Media for Schools as well as a number of chill out rooms. We continue to
work with Sony to develop their accommodation strategy.
