My career now is a teacher at primary school. Being a teacher is one of the most difficult
careers because of the long hours and sometimes stressful environment. According to Farber

(1984), a few researchers have stated that
choosing a teacher as a career can give stressful
to us. Because of that I have another career that
I’m interested in besides my career now and it is
business. For me, a business is not just a large
corporation or enterprise, it can also be a small
home-based business that generates a large
amount of income. I believe that businesses are advantageous and give me many benefits.
Running a business, in my opinion, offers high guarantees and is a useful job. Additionally, I
am free to select any options or choices I want. Business can also create a new business
associate. Due to this, I have a strong interest in business besides a teacher.

Business offers high guarantees and is a useful job for me because all industries have
a profession of business. There are many
work-related activities that could be classified
as businesses. In addition, I have a wide
range of prospects and business models to
choose from. For instance, I have a strong
passion for baking and pastry, so I can make
cakes and bread for a living. I can earn money
by selling the bread and cake to my friend and
other people. Furthermore, it is simple for me
as I could make the bread and cakes at
homes. Besides, business offers me a high and long-term guarantee. Working as a
businesswoman allows me to save money from my earnings and profits. When I do that, I

have cash in hand in case I run into an emergency that requires
a lot of cash. According to Minister of Youth and Sports Khairi
Jamaluddin (2018), 90% of Malaysians do not have enough
savings to support a basic life after age five. When I am older
my KWSP and retirement funds are insufficient to cover my
living expenses, I can also support myself through the income from my business.

I have the freedom to choose and make any decision I want for my business. Of course, as
individuals, we want to be free to make our own decisions. I enjoy running a business because
it can work as I desire. For instance, I have control over
how I manage my time. As a result, I have the freedom
to plan my own time with my family and friends.
According to (Jo-Ana Chase et al., 2012) To keep a
positive outlook and be creative, it's important to make
time for your family, friends, and hobbies. Additionally,
it gives me more privacy time to rest my body and
mind. Due to the control that I have over my business, leaves are simple to obtain. If I have
any issues, an emergency, or anything else that requires me to leave, I can also take my own
leave. In order to make my business successful and run smoothly, I can also choose my own

concept for my business shop. I can create
the theme that I want for my shop such as
vintage theme and choose the decoration and
furniture according to the theme so that my
shop would be more interesting and unique.
Other than that, I could create my own
trademark based on the theme that I choose.
For instance, I run a bakery and pastry shop,
and one of my trademarks is "as comfy as you," which has become synonymous with all of
my business. The trademark will serve as my company's marketing and branding tool so that
everyone could recognise my company by that trademark. In addition, I have the freedom to
choose my workplace and create a positive work environment for myself and staff in this
company. I will maintain a positive attitude towards my clients and employees by treating them
all equally. That’s how I can create a positive environment to support each other and make
my business successful. These advantages make me more interested in business.

Business can make me create a new business associate. I made this point because,
when we start a business, we surely participate in
numerous events like exhibitions and forums with
businesspeople from both our own country and from
other countries. I can find a business partner for my
company when I have a large network of contacts.
One advantage in having many business partners is
that I can collaborate on projects. In many ways,
teamwork and collaborating is beneficial. They

discuss things about the project, and having differing perspectives always strengthens the
result (Jo-Ana Chase et al., 2012). I can also grow my company and make it more well-known.
My company is doing well indirectly, and everyone might be familiar with it. In addition, that

would increase and improve my company's
revenue. As an example of collaboration, in May
2021 McDonald’s announced that they will be
collaborating with the south Korean boy-group BTS
in offering the boy group’s favourite order. They
offers BTS meal included 10 pieces of chicken
nuggets, medium fries and medium coca cola and
also provided two types of dipping sauces. With the
help of this co-branding partnership, McDonald's
was able to sell more meal sets than they had
anticipated. BTS also succeeded in raising brand
awareness, particularly among non-fans. That proves how beneficial collaboration is in running
a business. Other than that, we can share business experience when I have many business
associates. Sharing experiences helps us perform better in our own business because we
gain new knowledge and skills from other people. Additionally, we can grow our business
larger and build a strong inspiring network. This is why I was attracted to business.

As a conclusion, given the rising cost of living today, I would likely pursue a career in
business if I weren't a teacher. It is due to the numerous benefits that businesses provide.
Business is a useful job with high
chances of success. Furthermore, we
are free to choose any option or decision
we want. Besides, I could make a new
business associate. Those are the
advantages of business that I’m
interested in. I hope that business
careers will receive attention and support, especially from families, teachers, schools,
governments, and organisations responsible for educating the next generation of leaders
about the values and advantages of business.
