The morning started like it did everyday.
We had a good breakfast and went out to play.

6

My name is Tony, and I rode my bike.
And Emma my sister rode on her trike.

7

Then out of nowhere, up pulled a big truck.
A man in brown shorts had a box, just our luck!

8

9

10

“Is he coming to our house,” said
Emma with glee.
“Do you think it’s a present
especially for me?”

11

12

“This package can bring all sorts of
things home.

Mom says we can take it wherever
we roam.”

13

“What is in the box?” asked Emma.
“Maybe it’s a fox?”

15

“It’s a present for all of us Emma,” said
mom with a laugh and a smile. “It’s our
new computer, but keep playing awhile.”

16

17

18

“What’s a ‘puter?” asked Emma, her eyes
big with wonder.
“COMPUTER,” said Tony, shouting like thunder.

19

Tony explained, “A computer is special
and can do many things. Like play games,
or read books, and play songs to sing.”

Mom said, “Now go and play. Create your Savvy
Cyber Kids names right away.”

“Be careful of what?
It is only a box.”

And with that, Emma showed
off her favorite pink socks.

25

Tony dressed up with a cape and
a mask. “It’s important to be ready
for the day someone asks “What’s
your name?” or “Where do you live?”
“Our Savvy Cyber Kid name is all we must give.”

26

“The Internet is fun,”Tony said with glee.
” Everyone has a User Name, you see. We have to be
careful and safe while we play, and our Savvy Cyber Kid

name keeps us safe everyday.”

27

28

“Hurry up Emma,”
Tony said in a rush.
“I see you’re a princess,”
he said with a hush.

29

30

“Why are you
whispering?” Emma
asked with surprise.
Tony said, “A stranger
could be here, and
our names must be
disguised.”

31

32

Emma said excitedly, “Well then
I will be CyberPrincess online!”
Tony yelled, “And I will be
CyberThunder and all will be fine!”

33 33

“Okay kids. The computer is ready.
Use your Savvy Cyber
Kid name and think twice.
Not all people online are nice.”

34

35

36

Mom asked, “If someone wants
to know your name, what will
you say?”“CyberThunder
and CyberPrincess is the
only way!”Tony and
Emma exclaimed.

37

Tony and Emma shouted,
“Let’s go play the Savvy Cyber Kids way!
Always safe and protected online everyday!”

About Savvy Cyber Kids

Savvy Cyber Kids (SCK), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
whose mission is to enable youth, families, and school

communities to be empowered by technology, recognizes that
children may be Digital Natives but are also “Digital Naïves”,
who, without intervention, completely lack understanding of
the implications of their digital actions. Founded in 2007 by

Internet security expert, noted speaker and author Ben Halpert,
Savvy Cyber Kids provides resources for parents and teachers
to educate children as they grow up in a world surrounded
by technology by teaching numerous cyber ethics and cyber
safety concepts such as personal Internet safety, bully response,

technology balance, digital reputation, privacy, and more.

Which would be great to
send someone who is sick

so they can feel better.”

41

Mom added, “If the weather
is nice outside, we can go to

a nearby park.”

42

“We can climb, swing, run,
hide, and slide all day
long until it gets dark,”
Tony said excitedly.

43

Mom said, “I knew you
kids would not be bored
if you were not online.

44

You can always use your
imagination and play many games

and activities rain or shine.”

45

Mom, Tony shouted excitedly, “We can plan a
‘Movie Night’ for tonight where we can create
our own movie tickets, cook our own popcorn,

and make other tasty treats.”

46

“Yeah!” said Emma, “That will be great
since we will have played outside all day,

so we can rest our tired feet!”

47

48

Mom said, “What a great list.
It seems there is nothing we have missed!”

49

Emma and Tony
shouted: “Let’s play the
Savvy Cyber Kids way.
