S Z tronger Gen Emerges 05 The theme of the 3rd Petra Acitya newsletter is "Gen Z Emerges Stronger" or in bahasa Indonesia, "Gen Z tampil lebih kuat" But why is it getting stronger? Because, this generation experienced the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020-2021, so all schools were held online. In 2022-2023, Petra Acitya began to hold face-to-face / offline learning, and because the school has already started offline learning, all school activities are held offline as well. With the start of face-to-face learning, students are expected to no longer be lazy and become more active, enthusiastic in offline learning, and become more diligent in learning. Different than before, generation, Gen Z is equipped with technological developments. Every generation has their unique experiences and challenges. One of the hallmarks of Gen X is growing up in an era of rapidly evolving technology and globalization, while generation Y grew up with the internet and social media becoming more widespread and influential. Both faced different social pressures and issues, but both also made positive contributions to technology and innovation. Therefore, we can learn that it is important to value the experiences and perspectives of each generation and adapt to changes in society and technology.

EACHERS TESTIMONIALS 13 Mr. Jeremi is quite pleasant, likes to tell his stories and doesn’t get angry easily. He is also a chillteacher, easy to joke with and sociable. Mentee's Testimony Jeremia Christian Alexander, S.Pd., B.Ed. CHALLENGE HOPES Have to accommodate the learning needs of different students. Acitya can help students achieve their full potential. Ms. Maria is a mentor that we can chat with and communicate well. She makes us, her mentees feel comfortable when we are with her. Mentee's Testimony Maria Ceacilia Angela, S.Si. This academic year requires a lot of work, including preparing for accreditation, teaching a variety of subjects, and learning to listen and be patient with complaints from children, co-workers, and parents. Acitya is getting more advanced and successful, remains a school that prioritizes the development of children's talents, and always relies on the Lord Jesus in all decisions that are made. HOPES CHALLENGE Dimitri Januar Bawole, S.Si-Teol. Mr Dimitri has taught us to be more disciplined, he has a guide and he is always looking outfor us. The biggest challenge is about communication because a lot of miscommunication occurs between teachers and students. Become a school with the character of Christ Mentee's Testimony CHALLENGE HOPES HOPES I wish everyone will be more friendly to the teacher. Having ears to listen more especially after we do an event, I really hope we have 2 way communication to evaluate the event without imitating each other/one person. Maria Cendhika Wening Galih, S.Ds. CHALLENGE There is no challenge during the teaching process. Ifeel happy and comfortable withMs. Wening. We can talk about various things, andMs. Wening is a trustworthy person Mentee's Testimony Mentee's Testimony Frans Moeller Siregar, S.Pd. CHALLENGE HOPES He's a funny and a very fun guy.He makes us comfortable and enjoy our time with him. Arranging existing material to be delivered as effectively as possible, because many holidays are cut off. Becoming a better school in all aspects and all activities held can please all students and teachers. Ms. Anes is a kind, fun and patient teacher. She is also ready to listen to all the concerns of her students and give advice to her students to be better. The expectation is that Acitya will be more creative in creating learning that is fun and has a positive impact on the development ofthe potential of students Mentee's Testimony Yoanda Anestine Ratu Cantya, S.Pd. The challenge is that currently the school is 100% offline, so you have to have an idea so that students are enthusiastic about learning. In addition, they must be able to master the class, where every studentis always active in learning. HOPES CHALLENGE

Mentee's Testimony Christine Maryonita Prahendadmoko, S.Psi. CHALLENGE HOPES Ms. Christine is a kind and strict teacher who listens to her students and brings the atmosphere ofthe class to life. Adaptto new school & students, become new mentor. Can create a learning atmosphere thatis fun and creative Mentee's Testimony Caren Veronica Yemima Gultom, S.Si-Teol., M.M. CHALLENGE HOPES Ms. Caren is the best mentor for us. I will miss the random situations we did together, mentoring together, sharing stories together. Thank you so much for being a mentor who is firm, kind, and cares for his children so that he can become a better and more disciplined person. The most important details are that students need more than just a teacher to teach them; they also need a friend to talk to, a sister or brother to lean on, and someone who walks the talk. It is challenging, but I enjoy every conversation with my students. I hope that Acitya will be a place where everyone can freely and cheerfully study. More inventive and creative teaching and learning activities, and most importantly, be a school that may be a blessing to society 14 Mentee's Testimony Sebastianus Hardi Suryono Educational authorities in various locations have imposed bans on Chat GPT usage in schools, such as school exams. This could lead to individuals devaluing the importance of knowledge in the future. Developing policies and regulations to educate students about digital literacy, enhancing curriculum structure, innovating teaching methods, and improving evaluation tools are essentialto unlock the potential of generative AI in education. Technology must be designed and employed to cater to students' needs, promote learning, and achieve academic success. Mr Bas is a smart and funny mentor who has been a mentee for three years. He has a different learning method than other teachers, asking students what to learn and adapting to it, which makes him a good mentor. HOPES CHALLENGE My opinion while being taught by Mr Dias is that Mr Dias is a good teacher, firm, and also likes to help.MrDias also coached my use of English during these 3 years. Mentee's Testimony Agustinus Dias Suparto, S.Pd., M.S. The limited time to prepare and develop the teaching and mentoring programs as well as teaching materials due to the schedule. Petra Acitya will be able to become the role model of a modern educational institution which inspires other schools. CHALLENGE HOPES Mentee's Testimony Ratri Herda Ferdiani Theofil, S. Pd. CHALLENGE HOPES Miss Ratri is a teacher that every mentee will miss. Apart from loving the mentee, the person is also trendy! So being with Miss Ratri feels so fun. A message for Miss Ratri, always be the best teacher and mentor for the mentee & other students,Miss! We loveMiss so much. New experiences, new opportunities, new challenges, and yea new me! Not only during this school year but during Ms Ratri's teaching, Acitya taught lots of new things and gave new insights to Ms Ratri, one of which is teaching in a unique and cool way! Fun learning, fantastic future! #VivaAcityan Mr. Christo is a pleasant teacher, patient, and willing to listen when his students tell stories. He is also easy to get along with his mentees. Mentee's Testimony Christopher Lie Anugrah Sugianto, S.Pd. CHALLENGE This year's challenge is to channel students' motivation to learn, especially those interested in studying physics, and make the learning atmosphere more fun. This is necessary for offline learning, which requires student enthusiasm. The hope is that both teachers and students can increase their collaboration, especially in the learning process and approach each class more in order to create the expected learning atmosphere and produce competent and integrity graduates. So that later Acitya can be a blessing to all people and for the glory ofGod the Father. HOPES

Based on data from MTV Entertainment Group and the Center for Public Affairs Research NORC-news agency The Associated Press (AP) in the United States (1–19 September 2021), as many as one third of Americans admitted to being depressed because their lives had become more difficult due to the pandemic. Of the 3,764 people that were recorded, 2,683 belonged to Generation Z. Teenagers and young people (13-24) felt that their lives were falling apart. This can be caused by socialization or social interaction being disturbed. In fact, social interaction commonly occurs in schools, which unfortunately were closed during the pandemic. They feel that during the pandemic, it was very difficult to make and get friends, as well as in romantic relationships, where they found difficulty finding partners due to the pandemic. Some even admitted that they had difficulty keeping or guarding relationships due to the pandemic. The Pandemic Period was a time that made most people worse off. Everyone was required to stay at home, limit their mobility, only venture outside when it's absolutely necessary, and only work or study from home. Those that were infected had to selfisolate at home due to the capacity of hospitals, most of which were full of patients. Anxiety, uncertainty, and grief, all of which many people experienced in the pandemic. The part of society that has been affected the most by the pandemic is teenagers and young people, or what can be called, Generation Z. Therefore, the lives of teenagers who are searching for their identity and in this stage of development are far from pleasant, but rather trigger depression and mental health problems. Mental health experts also say that their limited social interactions can make them depressed and anxious, plus their parents are also experiencing the same problems. In fact, social interaction is needed during adolescence because it can train their ability to manage stress, make decisions, and improve their intrapersonal intelligence, which is very important for adolescents to be able to better regulate their attitudes and thoughts. Gen z rise stronger in the era of pandemic From Hazel Evanzio 19

In addition, Generation Z's tendency to use social media also makes it easy for them to channel enthusiasm or motivation so that Generation Z can be more productive and useful information as well. Based on data from the National Information and Communication Technology Council, there has been a 40% increase in the use of social media during the pandemic by teenagers. Thus, social media is the right tool for teenagers to channel productive motivation along with useful information so that generation Z can be more open and rise stronger. During the pandemic, teenagers are not allowed to leave the house so they become less productive and more lazy. This can be overcome through Generation Z's activeness on social media by spreading the productive spirit on Twitter, Instagram, and others. That characteristic is the ability to collaborate. Generation Z can be said to be easy to explore and they also connect with people from various professions or places through the internet. The existence of social media makes it easy for young people to establish social interactions even with people who are far away from them. This collaboration ability can be utilized so that young people can innovate, considering that in this industrial revolution 4.0, collaboration skills are needed so that young people with different backgrounds can work together in contributing ideas and knowledge in order to create useful work, and hopefully make Indonesia more advanced. In conclusion, the pandemic has made Generation Z worse off. Their lives have become chaotic due to social interactions that have become more limited considering that during the pandemic schools do not use a face-to-face system, even though socialization most often occurs at school. Therefore, in this "New Normal" period, teenagers and young people hope to rise stronger from the downturn. The activeness and tendency of teenagers in social media should be utilized so that they can innovate in bringing change to Indonesia so that it can be more advanced and encourage each other. Indonesia so that it can be more advanced and motivate each other to be more productive even though the corona virus still exists. The factors previously mentioned should be used as motivation for Generation Z to rise from the downturn and depression during this pandemic. Now, we have entered the "New Normal" period. In other words, although the coronavirus has not completely disappeared and is still roaming around, we can already do normal activities like in the pre-pandemic period. Schools have started face-to-face, so the social interaction of teenagers and young people is no longer limited and socialization has become easier. This should be used so that Generation Z can rise stronger after the pandemic. In addition, there is one characteristic of generation Z that can be used to rise stronger and help advance Indonesia. 20

Gen z stronger Emerges From Justin Hartono Generation Z is the generation born between 1996 and 2009. Generation Z is the generation after the Millennial Generation, this generation is the transitional generation of the Millennial Generation with increasingly developed technology. With the development of the millennial generation, Generation Z can be called the digitalization generation. Gen Z was born and raised in an overprotective upbringing amidst uncertain world conditions. Economic recession, digital transformation, invasion in several countries, natural disasters, and also disease outbreaks. This is why in adulthood, Z becomes less tolerant of environmental ambiguity due to an overprotected childhood. The ability to manage stress and achieve a healthy lifestyle is declining with each generation. If this phenomenon continues, then in the future, Gen Z will be the most stressed generation in history. This condition also makes Gen Z stronger and able to emerge stronger and more prepared because of the harshness experienced. 22

The FOMO character is also one of the educational challenges. In this character, Gen Z has a high curiosity about various things, especially new things. FOMO makes students motivated to know various things from sources of information that are scattered and easily accessible today. That's why Gen Z chooses to always be actively connected with their community so that information circulating in their community is not missed, one of which is through social media. In this case, education needs to be a medium that is open and accommodates a variety of information needed by students. In the context of education, giving students the freedom to determine how they learn is a necessity. Teachers need to be able to personalize ways of learning for each student, and provide students with more opportunities to find learning resources outside of school activities. The hyper-customization character causes students to also become accustomed to criticizing many things around them, including providing input on the learning media that they have been using. It is important for the education ecosystem to provide space for students to convey their ideas and assessments of the learning process they go through every day, including the opportunity to reconstruct their expectations about education in the future. Learning comfort comes first for Gen Z. Gen Z was born with one of the advantages of being able to understand themselves. That is why, Hyper Customization character is one of the characteristics of Gen Z. From there, students become accustomed to determining what they need and need to get. Their activities surfing online are part of the way Gen Z fulfills their needs. Information that students need not only on matters related to learning, but also on skills. Education needs to be able to curate what information is useful for students, and what is not. Teacher competence is very important in terms of this accuracy. 23

From Hazel Evanzio Carbon dioxide as we know is breathed out by all of us as part of the respiration system, owing to the property of the gas itself, being a waste gas formed from the fusion of carbon with oxygen and is toxic (Charlie P, 2018), hence it must be removed from our body. However, have you ever wondered where the carbon dioxide that you release goes? Some might think that it will simply disappear right after it has been emitted. In reality, this greenhouse gas does not merely vanish into thin air. Carbon dioxide as we know is breathed out by all of us as part of the respiration system, owing to the property of the gas itself, being a waste gas formed from the fusion of carbon with oxygen and is toxic (Charlie P, 2018), hence it must be removed from our body. However, have you ever wondered where the carbon dioxide that you release goes? Some might think that it will simply disappear right after it has been emitted. In reality, this greenhouse gas does not merely vanish into thin air. The pH is inversely proportional with hydrogen ions and acidity. The higher the concentration of hydrogen ions, the lower the pH is and the more acidic it is. Accordingly, what can we do to help fight it? This article will talk about the impacts and solutions of ocean acidification. DIRE IMPACTS CAUSED BY OCEAN ACIDIFICATION The aforementioned hydrogen ions existing in acidified saltwater and are triggered by carbon dioxide’s excess will merge with the carbonate ions afterwards, forming bicarbonate. This will reduce the concentration of carbonate ions, creating a complication for shelled marine animals such as mollusks and crustaceans. According to Reef Resilience Network (2022), the reduction in carbonate ions will also decrease the production of calcium carbonate, a type of nutrition which is incredibly essential for building and maintaining these animals’ shells. Thus amidst the increasing carbon dioxide that prevails in the seawater, their carapaces will be undermined and unable to maintain their protective form. As these shelled animals begin to die off, the food chains in the sea will be disorganized. Without the existence of these creatures, the population of their predators will instead diminish yet the organisms included in their diet as well as planktons will bloom uncontrolled. Coral reefs suffer from this acidification as well. 25

Ocean! Hey! Just like crustaceans and mollusks, they need calcium carbonate for their skeletons’ growth. Union of Concerned Scientists (2019) pointed out that coral reefs are fundamental to marine ecosystems, giving shelters to many marine animals. Furthermore, they are incredibly influential in shielding the communities inhabiting the coast from erosion and storms. Therefore, aquatic ecosystems are heavily dependent on these corals and if they are not present, the marine ecosystems will be unbalanced. According to NOAA Fisheries (2023), around 20% of the world population have been relying on the oceans for consumption and they also predominantly gain their protein intake from fish. In addition, it is also stated by NOAA Fisheries that our economy will be impacted as a huge portion of the global economy relies on food from the sea. Ocean acidification does not simply affect marine species. We are also at risk since acidified seawater influences poisonous algals to grow faster and produce more detrimental substances. Consequently, these algals can pollute the animals residing in the salt water, which could impact our food supplies, particularly sea foods. For instance, countries in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia, are often referred to as Maritime Southeast Asia. This means that these countries border the ocean and as a result, one of their main export commodities is marine produce, namely tuna, mackerel, etc. If the harvests of seafood dwindle owing to ocean acidification, those who live in tremendous poverty and poor developing nations with few to no agricultural alternatives will certainly suffer the most. 26

A few sustainable eco-cities have implemented all of these solutions. One example is the capital city of Denmark, Copenhagen. Every transportation uses electricity instead of diesel fuels and most streets are directed towards eco-friendly electric bicycles (The Telegraph, 2022). Copenhagen also has its fair share of green spaces, making this city as the greenest city in the world. Even the power plants are highly sustainable as they convert waste into energy. This means that these resources will not eventually run out as they will restore the depleted portion (Banton C, 2022). While it is true that fossil energy sources are estimated to run out in 37 years from now as stated by Howarth, J (2019), the demand for fossil resources is also rising, hence it is also probable if the fossil fuels deplete much faster than expected. ✩ As we can see, ocean acidification is solely an outcome of human activities. They include the usage of fossil fuels for industrial needs, power plants, and vehicles, which will effuse carbon dioxide during the combustion process, as well as cutting down trees responsible for absorbing carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen. In order to tackle its worst effects, both governors and citizens ought to be cooperative and do their bit. The most efficacious step is to significantly reduce the use of fossil fuels and other causes of carbon dioxide emission. APPLICABLE PREVENTIVE METHODS AND SOLUTIONS Another contribution that can be made is to initiate a reforestation programme. We can start planting trees in our yard and help donating reforestation efforts all over the world, whilst the governments can fund tree-planting projects and apply a strict regulation to battle illegal loggers. A shift to the utilization of renewable natural resources for power plants in lieu of fossil fuels and other non-renewable resources must be made. Sustainable energy sources include wind energy, geothermal, solar energy, and hydropower. We ourselves can participate in decreasing the usage by utilizing public transports or bicycles. If numerous people simultaneously use private cars instead, then carbon dioxide emission will escalate. Even though public transportations also emits greenhouse gasses, the effusion can be decreased if people begin using public transports since there will be less vehicles used at the same time. x T T J 27

In summary, ocean acidification is an invisible occurrence which entails dreadful outcomes for both marine animals and humans. It is indeed caused by all of us who continuously increase the concentration of carbon dioxide through the overutilization of fossil resources and as a consequence, solutions are critical to be done. Denmark’s capital has attempted to deal with sea acidification and so have some ecocities yet all of these are still not enough. Further efforts are still required and we as well as governors can contribute to solving this predicament. Henceforth we can start from the simplest such as planting trees and reducing the use of private cars while the governments can capitalize efforts or initiatives made by citizens and fight illegal logging. Along with these small steps, comes fantabulous impacts and ocean acidification can be overcome. CONCLUSION United States Environmental Protection Agency. World Hunger Still Exist Why Does ? In poorer countries with higher population, and limited land and water, there are even fewer resources to feed everyone in the country. If even basic needs are not met, the economic state of the country starts to spiral out of control (N. Sadik, 1989). Since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, the economy of most countries have worsened and become less stable. Due to the condition of the economy at that time, consumer prices of nutritional food have risen to a great extent (Bogmans, 2021), meaning that those who were barely able to afford food even before the pandemic would find it very difficult to afford the same during the pandemic. From Milkha Aprysher Nyoto The general public knows that world hunger is still a major problem concerning the world. World hunger still exists as people see this as an unsolvable global issue. Hence, there are minimum efforts in attempting to solve this. The aforementioned world issue has been with us since The Great Depression, from 1929-1935 (Hunger Forum Discussion Paper, 2004) and has worsened ever since. In general, world hunger is a problem for people who have lack of access to nutritional food and other resources. The already stated problem has taken the lives of hundreds of millions, and around 9 million lives are taken every year (The World Counts, 2023). All of this is still continuously occurring as of now. ECONOMIC CRISIS GENDER INEQUALITY In countries facing conflict or food crises, women eat the least and last, due to a large discrimination against women and their rights as human beings. Men are more privileged to do what they desire in life and are more free, on the other hand, women are not even able to go out wearing slightly “revealing” clothes without being publicly judged or harassed. In fact, 60% of people who experience food insecurity are women and girls. This signifies that there will be higher chances of people experiencing poverty. Considering the fact that consumer prices have soared, some people have thought of purchasing farming supplies and harvesting their own crops. But even then, they aren’t able to afford the supplies and are forced to go to bed hungry. Whereas some countries have higher consumer prices than others, some people are forced to migrate to improve their living standards. Though, soaring consumer prices is not the sole reason for forced migration, but rather the war and conflict within the country they live in (Giovetti, 2019). To prove this point even further, it is stated that women perform 2.6 times more unpaid work than men (Concern USA, 2022), meaning that women are more likely to fall into poverty and are unable to provide themselves with basic needs. If the supply of food is in a dire state, women would likely reduce the amount of food they eat or skip a meal entirely, prioritizing their partner’s needs. 29

The fact that nutritional food is expensive, doesn’t make this any better either. The people who have plenty of funds to spare end up contributing the most to the previously mentioned problem. Dramatic climate changes in an area may also contribute to the lack of nutritional food, due to crops not growing the way they are supposed to, and therefore decreasing the amount of nutritional food produced. Lastly, Covid-19 can actually be counted as a disaster that the entire world has experienced. Due to the economic crisis that Covid-19 has caused, it is not too far-fetched to say that it contributed to worsening the lack of nutritional food. Some are not even given a choice in the matter of either starving themselves or spending the day with a full stomach in some cases. As we can see, women are less likely to have as many resources as men. In fact, in sub-Saharan Africa and southeast Asia, women make up 60% of the entire agricultural workforce (Van Nieuwkoop, 2022). LACK OF NUTRITIONAL FOOD By what has been stated so far, world hunger is caused by economic crises, gender inequality and lack of nutritional food. Each of these factors are difficult to solve on its own, even more so combined. Economic crises are not easily solved mainly due to the international financial system being unstable (Steinberg, 2008). Since we are not able to predict any disasters or emergencies, economic crises will continue to happen from time to time even if we are prepared to handle it. Another factor is gender inequality, this contributes to the main problem since the majority of victims of starvation are women (Concern USA, 2022). CONCLUSION Lastly, lack of nutritional food makes the situation of the world even worse. Though the amount of food produced can keep up with the fast growing population, it is not always fairly distributed to the public. Meaning that not each and every one is able to meet their basic needs to be able to improve their living standards. After all that is said, this is why the public turns a blind eye to solving world hunger and puts minimum effort to solve it entirely, as the general public see no point in trying. There is always this stereotype where there is not enough food in the world, and that is why many people suffer from hunger. But in reality, there is actually enough food to feed every human being on the planet, but nearly 30% of the food produced is wasted or lost every year (World Food Program USA, 2023). To support this point, another factor that contributes to the loss of food every year is that consumers in richer countries waste almost as much food as the entire food production of sub-Saharan Africa every year (World Food Program USA, 2023). 30
