Rizal’s innovation in literacy brings
alive the world of books and learning
for children. He combines his
exceptional artistic talents with his
pedagogical knowledge to engage
and inspire his students. They are
offered opportunities they would not
otherwise have to participate and
interact with each other as well as
JENNIFER HIRST reading material and equipment that
Senior Education Advisor brings about a greater understanding
LeapEd Services Sdn Bhd of their language learning.

His imagination, enthusiasm and positivity knows no bounds and
as a result not only does he lift the achievement levels, self-
esteem and risk-taking behaviours of his learners, he inspires his
colleagues so that they also try new techniques and approaches
in their teaching. A child-centred approach is used in all of his
lessons as well as in the wider school. Workshops are held for
eager students to make their own pop-up books or they can
choose to read from the captivatingly magical “Little Tiny
Libraries” that are placed around the school, drawing children in
to read and talk. The school library acts as a learning magnet
because of the displays of books and artifacts and the unusual
and inviting places to read that he creates. He has an
extraordinary talent of making a simple task memorable and an
opportunity to learn. By doing so, all those he works with feel
special and respected

who worked with him always felt
welcoming and fun to be with. His
creativity and artistry is truly beyond
our thoughts. 'Nothing is impossible'

are blessed to have a teacher like
Cikgu Rizal.

Cikgu Rizal has also shown us that one

way to teach our kids independent is

to be able to trust them and give them

some space to grow up. We didnt know

that Grayson is capable in taking care

of himself without having parents

around but this trip has proven us that

parents has to trust their kid to allow

them to have self awareness and self

Reading is important to us so do to

our children to expand their

COMMENTS

Participation in the conference is a great
opportunity to educate educators that paper
engineering is a part of STEAM element and
innovation in the education world.
Representing Malaysia in the world event
has impact the 21st century education and is
in track with the efforts to support the UN
Sustainability Development Goal especially
in SDG4 Quality Education.
