The

Greenway

Forest

Written by: Nolan
Birdsall

I was about to go on a walk in the woods
when my mom stopped me before I could get out
of the door.

My mom grabbed my hand, looked into my
eyes, and said “It's Dangerous out in the woods.”

“I know mom,” I said.
“Just know what you are doing my curious
child” my mom responded.
“Ok mom” I answered. “I will be back
before midnight.
” My mom kissed me on the cheek, after
she did that, I went on for my walk to Greenway
Forest.

It was a stunning day for a stroll in the
Greenway Forest. It was a good name for the
forest because everything in it was green. The
trees and grass were very green. I plopped
down, and leaned against the tree. I almost
dozed off because it was quiet. So quiet that
you could hear thumps of your own heartbeat.

Then I heard something, It was coming from
behind a big leafy bush. The bush moves a bit.
Left, then right, towards me, then back. It repeats
its own pattern two times in a row.

At first, I thought it was a raccoon, but it had
a dark brown tail and raccoons don't have a dark
brown tail. So I thought it was a squirrel.
Although a squirrel has a different type of brown
tail.

Then suddenly it came tumbling out of the
bush. It was a mink. It was playing with a
pinecone. That was why the bush was moving.
The mink stood up on his two back legs with the
pinecone in its mouth. It glanced at me. I closed
and rubbed my eyes and when I opened them,
the mink was gone. After five seconds I saw the
mink.

The mink stared at me and ran outside
the forest. Outside the forest, the mink went
into a clear sky blue pond that had tiny
fishes in it. Then I decided to head back into
the forest and take a nap again.
