Sailing is the one activity I stuck with for all 6 years of school, and nothing comes 55
close to the comradery I experienced on and off the water. I joined school not
knowing anything about sailing, but I leave with a skill and hobby for life.

the Silver qualifying hike, being

enjoyed all my history classes

KELVIN MENG Among many incredible experiences
at High, one of them was rowing
with the boys in the Year 10 1st
VII at the 2018 AAGPS Head of the
River. It didn’t matter that we were
coming last, we had a camaraderie
among of eight other members of
the crew and the trust that each one
of us was putting all that we had.
Beyond the pain was the euphoria of
representing High with eight other
mates that I had spent the past six
months training with. From the 5:00
AM sessions to overnight camps,
the sheds became my second home.
No matter how much training we
put in, this experience would not
have been this phenomenal without
our coach, Terry Fong, and all the
parents, teachers and students who
supported us at Head of the River.

From the USA basketball tour in 2018
to being a part of the prefect cohort
and serving the school with the boys
and being a leader at ISCF, there are
just too many experiences to name as
a single favourite. However, there is
one common denominator in all three
of these, the boys. This cohort has
really provided me a second family, cli-
chè aside, the ups and downs I’ve had
with everyone of this cohort has really
shaped me to push myself and become
better, and I mean this from the bot-
tom of my heart, there is no one else I

The feeling of brotherhood and friendship from everyone in the year was the best experience

At High, I’ve been lucky enough to participate in a range of activities that pushed me out of my
comfort zone and shaped who I am today. By far my favourite experience at High was being a

During my time at High, the academic achievements have been cool, but 71
the real treasure has to be all of the friends that I’ve made along the way.
The only thing that gets me hard, the only thing that can gobble me,
swallow me and drip down the side of me would have to be... the boys.
Cheering while I’m on the basketball court, down the bench in a debate
or in the stands is what I’ll remember most. In all seriousness, singing the

couldn’t have picked a bet-

My favourite experiences are usually when I am with the boys at large events. Whether in the 79

incredible. For me, winning gold in the U14 4x100m relay at the AAGPS athletics carnival with
all the boys cheering the team on is certainly the highlight of my time at High.
Playing sport at school was my
favourite experience at High.
The time spent every week

of this representing the school

Being a part of the Equality Committee at the school was one of my favourite aspects of my
