LVG-10/1st Quarter/2019-20
The aisles and passages of Lotus Valley International School chirped
with laughter and mirth as yet another academic session rolled on. It
is with great pride and pleasure that we bring forth the first edition of
the quarterly e-magazine for the year 2019-20. The importance of
keeping the parents abreast with all the happenings of the school
through this platform, cannot be stressed enough. With renewed
energy, we set adrift on yet another daunting journey, full of thrill
and excitement.
The month of April buzzed with new levels of joy as the learners of
each grade settled themselves in their new classes. Welcome activities,
assemblies, workshops, competitions, championships, special visits,
open house and of course the CBSE results kept the school in high
spirits.
The Orientation Programme held for the new members of the Lotus
Valley family was a successful effort in making the parents aware of
the ethos of the school. The learners of Grades X and XII made us proud
with their spectacular results.
It is through these activities that we make our learners push their
limits, strive for excellence and instil in them, the confidence to face
the world and surpass the challenges and evolve as finer individuals.
The following pages of the magazine will give you a deeper insight
into our escapade, so sit back and come aboard to travel with us
through the medium of this magazine.

Learners learnt about miscible and
immiscible liquids by mixing milk and
water followed by mixing oil and water.
This was also related to oil spills and how
they harm the marine ecosystem. To
supplement the knowledge acquired from
a lesson on creepy and crawlies, learners
were shown specimens of cockroach,
housefly and honeybee. They closely
observed the body parts of the insects
along with their life cycles. The Discovery
Lab activities continue to play a very
crucial role in the ongoing intellectual
development of our learners. In the
Discovery and General Science
laboratories, learners are making use of
the time, space, as well as resources to
exercise their curiosity. They are enjoying
the freedom to engage in new
explorations, experimentations, and
explanations.

ARYABHATTA MATHS LAB
Math Lab activities engage the learners in
mathematical games and puzzle solving
techniques which aim to stimulate their
interest and develop ease in working on
math related exercises. It is a place where
learners from Grade II and III get an
opportunity to learn new concepts through
concrete objects and situations. The
activities are planned in such a way that it
facilitates the scope for individual
participation and encourages learners to
think, discuss and work in teams with each
other and effectively imbibe the necessary
skills, knowledge and attitude to pursue it
further. It is a wonderful platform for the
teachers to demonstrate, explain and
reinforce abstract mathematical ideas using
innovative methods.
