2 FREPENCA MEETS TNB The TNB Briefing Session was held by TNB for the Member Companies of FREPENCA affected by the frequent power interruptions. The meeting was hosted by Inari Technology Sdn. Bhd., 761, Plot 34, Persiaran Cassia Selatan 3, BKIP on 5 October 2023. Among the agenda items discussed at the TNB Briefing Session were as follows:- a) Industry Feedback on Frequent Power Interruptions Experienced. b) Sharing by TNB PQ Technical Expert, Dr Fuad. c) Sharing by TNB on Distribution Network Action Plans. d) Sharing by TNB on Grid Network Action Plans. FREPENCA member companies can approach KS Lim for further informations shared by TnB. The TNB Briefing Session was attended by 12 representatives from TNB, a representative for YB Zairil (Penang EXCO)’s office, a representative from INVEST PENANG, 2 representatives from MPC, Dr David Lacey (President) and also 16 representatives from FREPENCA. MBPP –PENANG TRAFFIC DISCUSSION The FREPENCA committee met with the Penang MBPP Engineering Department on 20th November - at Level 13, MBPP Engineering Department, KOMTAR. FREPENCA discussed with MBPP below points: a) FREPENCA Member Companies’ Employees’ feedback on the proposed direct bus route connecting Sungai Ara to Bayan Lepas FIZ and Non-FIZ. b) To explore the idea of contra-flow and dedicated bus lanes during the morning and evening peak hours in order to ease the worsening traffic congestion in Penang. c) Several other measures to alleviate the worsening traffic congestion in Penang. MBPP will now look into the possibility of a contra-flow option and study internally with a promised feedback to FREPENCA. The said Meeting was attended by MBPP Engineering Director, Ir. Cheah, MBPP Engineering Deputy Director, Ir. Zainuddin, President, Dr. David Lacey, Vice President, Mr Elmar Friesnegger, En. Basri Umar (representing Ms Heng Charng Yee, Committee Member) and also Secretary, Mr Lim Keat Seong.
3 FREPENCA COMMITTEE MEETING FREPENCA had its 4th Committee Meeting 2023 held physically at Meeting Room 1-2-1, PEN 1, ams-OSRAM, Bayan Lepas FIZ 1 on 12 October 2023 and was immediately followed by Sub-Committees Engagement with the Convenors conducted virtually via Zoom. The Committee Meeting was attended by President, Dr. David Lacey, Vice President, Mr Elmar Friesnegger and 3 Committee Members, namely Mr Jeffrey Hwang, Ms Heng Charng Yee and Ms Aimee Khaw and also Secretary, Mr Lim Keat Seong. The next Committee Meeting No. 5/2023 of FREPENCA will be held physically on 4 December 2023. DIALOG WITH CM ON 4TH DECEMBER FREPENCA’s Annual Dialog with YAB Chief Minister of Penang (“the YAB CM”) will be held at Wembley Room 10, Level 9, The Wembley, A St Giles Hotel Penang, 183 Jalan Magazine, 10300 George Town, Penang on next Monday, 4 December 2023 at 6.30 p.m. and to be followed immediately by CEO Networking Dinner at Wembley Room 9, Level 9 at 7.30 p.m. Pease note that ONLY FREPENCA MEMBER COMPANIES will be invited to join the Dialog Session. The schedule for that day will be as follows:- 6.00 p.m. Arrival & Registration of Guests 6.30 p.m. FREPENCA’s Annual Dialog with the CM at Wembley Room 10, Level 9 7.30 p.m. CEO Networking Dinner at Wembley Room 9, Level 9 8.30 p.m. The YAB CM takes his leave 9.00 p.m. The End
