U. City Schools: Student Expectations Guide for SY 2020-21
Teaching and learning are at the center of everything we do in The
School District of University City. Creating an environment that is
welcoming, safe, inclusive and secure to facilitate learning is a top
priority for everyone in the District. Students and families have a role
to play in creating that environment. As superintendent of schools, it
is my sincere intent that students and parents clearly understand and
accept the responsibility and power of positive behavior. Together we
create an environment that leads to effective overall learning, one
that humanizes the experiences for students and adults.
This Expectations Guide was developed to assist students, parents and staff in understanding community standards and policies currently in
place and the consequences of not adhering to those policies.
This Guide is tied to the District’s Strategic Plan and objectives to
provide an environment that is conducive to teaching and learning,
while creating an environment that fosters self-control, respect and
wellness for self and others.
This Guide reflects recent updates to the University City Board of
Education’s policies and procedures as it becomes aligned with
the Missouri School Boards Associations policies. These and other policies are available to view at www.ucityschools.org.
If you have any questions regarding this Expectations Guide, please contact your school principal.
