READING DAY READING WEEK 2020

KVS Chennai Region celebrated

the Reading Day on June
19th2020, focussing on tech-
nology enabled reading, with

the following week as Read-
ing Week.The P.N.Paniker
foundation in collaboration
with the Government took the

initiative in outlining several
reading related activities. In
the midst of covid-19 chal-

lenge, when schools closed
and students confined at
home, Reading Day Reading
Week helped to adapt in myri-

ad ways to stay connected
with thousands of students of
the entire region. The student

community and teachers could
reaquaint the joy of reading.
Through creative collaboration, repository of books were made in-
novately available on a digital platform. The very idea was to keep

the reading going, bring positivity, inspire children and to invest
their time fruitfully during the hard times.

A series of activities that could inspire free thinking and personal-
ity development like book review, quiz, jacket cover designing,
book mark designing, slogan writing and poster designing were

conducted. One week time was given to read books on digital plat-
form prior to the commencement of the programme. Digital quiz
was conducted on 19 June. The competition was open to all and

1620 students from all Kendriya Vidyalayas of Chennai region
took part enthusiastically.
