Ang kaibigan kong si Kara, pagkanta ang talento. Sa galing niyang kumanta, siya ang kumakanta ng mga tula ng papa niya. Hiyaw ng lahat sa kanya, “Kara, kanta!” Kaya hinuni-huni ko, “Anong talento ba meron ako?” 6 My friend Kara, singing is her talent. Because she sings so well, she sings her father’s poems. Everyone shouts, “Kara, sing!” That’s why I hummed, “What talent do I have?”

Ang kaibigan kong si Sasa, pagsayaw ang talento. Sa galing niyang sumayaw, siya ang nagsayaw ng santo sa aming simbahan. Hiyaw ng lahat sa kanya, “Sasa, sayaw!” Kaya pinadyak-padyak ko, “Anong talento ba meron ako?” 8 My friend Sasa, dancing is her talent. Because she dances so well, she’s the one who dances the saint in our church. Everyone shouts, “Sasa, dance!” That’s why I stomped and stomped, “What talent do I have?”

15 Sabi nila Lolo at Lola, “Toto, lahat tayo may talento.” Kaya inabot nila Lolo at Lola ang isang lapis at papel at pinasulat sa akin ang mga salitang “Ang Talento ni Toto”. “Maganda kang sumulat, Toto!” sabi ni Lolo sa akin. “Malinis at pantay, ” dagdag pa ni Lola. My grandpa and grandma said, “Toto, all of us have talent.” So grandpa and grandma reach for a pencil and a sheet of paper and ask me to write the words, “Toto’s Talent”. “You write well, Toto!” grandpa said to me. “Clean and even, ” grandma added.
Bumalik ulit ako sa tanong, “Ano nga ba ang talento ko?” habang nakatitig sa papel. Palagi naman akong may hawak na lapis at papel pero iba yung mga inabot nila Lolo at Lola. 16 I came back to my question, “What is my talent?” while staring at the paper. I always have a pencil and a paper in my hand but the ones that grandpa and grandma gave me are different.

Isinulat ko sa ibaba ng mga salitang “Ang Talento ni Toto” ang mga hiyaw sa mga kaibigan ko – “Kara, kanta!” , “Sasa, sayaw!” , “Pia, pinta!”. 18 Below the words “Toto’s Talent” , I wrote down the cheers to my friends - “Kara, sing!” , “Sasa, dance!” , “Pia, paint!”. Kara, kanta! Sasa, sayaw! Pia, pinta! Ang Talento ni Toto
Nabasa ito ni Lolo, “Toto, totoo ang mga naisulat mo.” Ngumiti ako dahil puro Toto ang narinig ko. Hiniyaw ko, “Toto, totoo!” 19 Grandpa read it, “Toto, what you wrote is true.” I smiled because all I could hear was Toto. I shouted, “True, Toto!”
Hindi na ako napakali sa “Toto, totoo!” dahil nasagot ni Lolo ang lagi kong tanong, “Ano ba ang talento ko?” Ang sabi ni Lola, ayun ang magsabi ng totoo. 20 I got excited with “True, Toto!” because grandpa answered what I always asked myself, “What is my talent?” Grandma said, that is to tell the truth.
Oo, totoong mahusay sumayaw si Sasa. Oo, totoong mahusay magpinta si Pia. 21 Yes, it’s true that Sasa is great at dancing. Yes, it’s true that Pia is great at painting. Oo, totoong mahusay kumanta si Kara. Yes, It’s true that Kara is great at singing.

Sa sinabi ni titser, totoong lahat tayo may talento. Sa sinabi ni Mama, totoong lahat tayo may talento. Gamit ang papel at lapis, nakapagsasabi ako ng totoo na sabi nila Lolo at Lola, bihira na ngayon. “Sana tulad ni Toto ang mga sumusulat, dapat totoo, ” sabi ni Lolo. 23 With what my teacher said, it's true that we all have talent. With what mother said, it's true that we all have talent. Using paper and pencil, I was able to tell the truth that grandpa and grandma said, is rare now. “I hope those who always write, write just like Toto. They write what is true.” Grandpa said.

Tungkol sa Manunulat Si G. Bryant Dominic Austria ([email protected]) ay kasalukuyang mag-aaral sa Pamantasang Normal ng Pilipinas-Maynila (PNU Manila) at nagpapakadalubhasa sa kursong Batsilyer ng Edukasyong Pangwika sa Filipino. Kasalukuyan din siyang kasapi ng Kapisanang Diwa at Panitik (KADIPAN) at kasalukuyang Direktor ng Sangay Pilantik ng kapisanan. Siya ay nagtapos ng antas elementarya hanggang hayskul sa Pateros Catholic School (2008-2020). Siya ay nagtapos bilang Class Salutatorian ng kanyang pangkat sa Senior High at nagawaran ng natatanging pagkilala sa asignaturang Malikhaing Pagsulat. Siya rin ay naging bahagi ng pahayagang pampaaralan nito bilang copyreader and headline writer at nakasulat din ng ilang entri sa kolum, balita, at lathalain. Nagwagi na rin sa mga pambansang timpalak sa pagsulat ng sanaysay ng Science and Math Brain Power Philippines at Brown Movement for Cultural Advancement. Kasalukuyan niyang tinutuklas ang genre ng panitikang pambata at nagkamit ng Karangalang Banggit sa Gawad Pilantik 2023. Tungkol sa Tagasalin Si Bb. Venus Rhea M. Tabangin ([email protected]) ay nagtapos ng Senior High School sa Olivares College, Parañaque sa ilalim ng Humanities and Social Science Strand o HUMSS. Sa kasalukuyan, siya ay nasa Ikatlong Taon sa Pamantasang Normal ng Pilipinas-Maynila (PNU) sa ilalim ng kursong Batsilyer sa Edukasyong Filipino. Siya ay isa sa mga miyembro ng Sangay Pilantik, isang lupon ng mga progresibong manunulat sa ilalim ng Kapisanang Diwa at Panitik (KADIPAN) ng unibersidad. Hangarin niyang maging isang magaling na guro sa hinaharap na may kakayahang itaguyod ang Wika, Panitikan, at Bayan. 30
Si Bb. Marie Delcy R. Jimenez ([email protected]) ay kasalukuyang nasa Ikatlong Taon sa Pamantasang Normal ng Pilipinas-Manila (PNU) at tinatahak ang programang Batsilyer sa Edukasyong Filipino. Kaniyang tinapos ang Senior High School sa La Salle College Antipolo (LSCA) nang may strand na Araling Pantao at Agham Panlipunan - sa ilalim ng Akademikong Tuntunin. Bukod sa mga aktibo o pisikal na aktibidad, hilig din niya ang pananaliksik sa Agham at pagsulat. Mula taong 2018, siya ay aktibong miyembro ng La Salle Search-In. Kasalukuyan namang miyembro ng organisasyong Kapisanan ng Diwa at Panitik (KADIPAN) ng PNU. Si Bb. Kim Ivy V. Edradan ([email protected]) ay isang kolehiyala na kasalukuyang nasa ikatlong taon at tinatahak ang programang Batsilyer sa Edukasyong Filipino sa Pamantasang Normal ng Pilipinas-Maynila. Bilang magiging guro sa hinaharap, partikular ang pagiging guro sa Filipino, batid niya ang kanyang tungkulin sa pagpapanatili ng isang bansang pinagbigkis ng kultura, wika, pagkakaisa, at pag-ibig sa bayan. Lagi niyang ibabaon at isasabay sa pagsulong ang edukasyon at ang wika. Lagi't lagi para sa wika, panitikan, at bayan. Tungkol sa Tagaanyo 31
Lahat daw tayo ay may talento. May kayang kumanta, may kayang sumayaw, may kayang magpinta. Iniisip mo ba kung ano ang talento mo? Kakanta ka rin ba? Sasayaw? Magpipinta? Tinanong ka na ba ni Mama, ni Lolo, at ni Lola? Ikaw, ano ang talento mo? Ang aklat na ito ay rekomendado para sa mga batang edad 7 pataas. They say, we all have talent.
