Once upon a time, in a mango
grove on the of a large river,
there lived a troop of monkeys

So, the monkeys decided to
pluck all the fruit from the
branches that spread over the
river so that no mango could fall
and flow into the town.

But, one mango did fall! It
floated towards the town and
got caught in a fisherman's net.
When the fisherman saw the
strange fruit, he immediately
took it to his king.

กง่ิ ไมท้ อ่ี ย่อู ีกฟากหนง่ึ เขาเรียกกองทหารของเขา
ว่า "มาลงิ ปี นบนหลงั ของฉนั แลว้ ขา้ มไปอีกฟาก
หนงึ่ ของแมน่ า้ "

The monkey chief went to a branch that stretched
over the river and grabbed the branch of a tree on
the other side. He called to his troop and said, "Come
monkeys, climb on my back and cross to the other
side of the river."

พวกลงิ ทาตามทีพ่ วกเขาบอก และในไม่ 18
ชา้ ทงั้ กองทหารก็ปลอดภยั พระราชา
ทรงเห็นแลว้ ตรสั ว่า "ลงิ ตวั นนั้ ชว่ ย
ทหารของเขาไว้ เราทกุ คนสามารถ
เรียนรคู้ วามกลา้ หาญจากมนั ได!้ "

The monkeys did as they were tóld
and soon the whole troop was safe.
The king saw this and said, "That
monkey saved his troop. We can all
learn about courage from him!"

The king was so pleased with the
monkey chief 's bravery that he decided
that no one from his kingdom would ever
trouble the monkeys again!
