Facts About The Country
1. Full Name Of Country.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE; Arabic: الإمارات العربية المتحدةal-ʾImārāt al-
ʿArabīyah al-Muttaḥidah), or simply the Emirates (Arabic: الإماراتal-ʾImārāt), is a
country in Western Asia. The United Arab Emirates, sometimes simply called the
Emirates or UAE, is a federation of seven emirates (states): Abu Dhabi, Dubai,
Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah.
2. About Government
Politics of the United Arab Emirates take place in a framework of a federal
presidential elective constitutional monarchy (a federation of absolute
monarchies). The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a federation of seven
constituent monarchies: the Emirates of Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras
al-Khaimah, Sharjah, and Umm al-Quwain.
According to convention, the ruler of Abu Dhabi (Mohammed bin Zayed Al
Nahyan) is the President of the United Arab Emirates (despite holding the title of
President, the country is not governed as a presidential republic) and the head of
state, and the ruler of Dubai is the Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates,
the head of the government. Within the UAE, Dubai has considerable autonomy,
and is under Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's autocratic rule.
The UAE is an authoritarian state.The UAE has been described as a "tribal
autocracy" where the seven constituent monarchies are led by tribal rulers in an
autocratic fashion. There are no democratically elected institutions, and there is
no formal commitment to free speech.The discovery of oil in Abu Dhabi in 1958
and the country's subsequent oil wealth has defined its politics and economy, as
well as shaped its foreign policy behavior.
3. About Currency
The name dirham is an Arabic word. Due to centuries of trade and usage
of the currency, dirham survived through the Ottoman Empire.Before 1966, all
the emirates that now form the UAE used the Gulf rupee, which was pegged at
parity to the Indian rupee. On 6 June 1966, India decided to devalue the Gulf
rupee against the Indian rupee. Not accepting the devaluation, several of the
states still using the Gulf rupee adopted their own or other currencies. All the
Trucial States except Abu Dhabi adopted the Qatar and Dubai riyal, which was
equal to the Gulf rupee prior to the devaluation. These emirates briefly adopted
the Saudi riyal during the transition from the Gulf rupee to the Qatar and Dubai
riyal. Abu Dhabi used the Bahraini dinar, at a rate of 10 Gulf rupees = 1 dinar. In
1973, the UAE adopted the UAE dirham as its currency. Abu Dhabi adopted the
UAE dirham in place of the Bahraini dinar, at 1 dinar = 10 dirhams, while in the
other emirates, the Qatar and Dubai riyal was exchanged at par

The national flag of the United Arab Emirates (Arabic: علم دولة الإمارات العربية
)المتحدةcontains the Pan-Arab colors red, green, white, and black. It was designed
in 1971 by Abdullah Mohammed Al Maainah, who was 19 years old at that time,
and was adopted on 2 December 1971.The main theme of the flag's four colors
is the unity of Arab nations. In 2008, there was a minor change to the Emblem.
Merchant ships may fly the alternative civil ensign, a red flag with the national
flag in the canton. Emirates Airlines utilises the UAE flag as part of their livery.
5. About International Airport
Abu Dhabi International Airport (Arabic: ( )مطار أبو ظبي الدوليIATA: AUH,
ICAO: OMAA) is an international airport in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the capital
of the United Arab Emirates.The airport, located 16.5 nautical miles (30.6 km;
19.0 mi) east of Abu Dhabi city, is the second largest in the UAE after Dubai
International Airport, serving around 20 million passengers in 2014. It has three
operational passenger terminals: Terminal 1 (divided into Terminals 1A and 1B),
Terminal 2, Terminal 3. Abu Dhabi International Airport is spread over an area of
3,400 hectares (8,500 acres). Its terminal spaces are dominated by Etihad
Airways, the country's second flag carrier airline and the second largest airline in
the UAE after Emirates. More than 30 airlines offer service to over 120
destinations in more than 60 countries.

Language :
Arabic is the official language of the UAE. In the courts, the other five official languages
are Chinese, English, French, Hindi and Russian. All road and traffic signs, and signs
on commercial outlets are in Arabic and English. Some of the other widely spoken
languages include Bengali, Farsi, Malayalam, Turkish and Urdu.
Population :
According to Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre, the UAE's total population
(nationals and expatriate residents) was 9,282,410 in 2021, as compared to 9,503,738
in 2020. Males outnumber females.
There were 6,468,460 males in 2021, as compared to 6,302,724 in 2020.
There were 2,813,950 females in 2021, as compared to 3,201,014 in 2020.
There are more than 200 nationalities living and working in the UAE. The expatriate
community outnumbers the population of UAE nationals.
Indians form the largest foreign community in the UAE, followed by Pakistanis,
Bangladeshis, other Asians, Europeans and Africans.

Themes in Emirati poetry are diverse, ranging from satire, self-praise, and patriotism, to
chivalry, religion, family, and love.

The first Emirati novel, Shahenda, was written by Rashid Abdullah Al Nuaimi.
Contemporary literary figures include Nujoom Al-Ghanem, Ousha Al Sha'er, Khalid
Albudoor, and Aisha Al Kaabi.

iv. Culture and Art
• The UAE has a long cultural history dating back to ancient times drawn from
many changing civilisations. From the Bedouin tribes, who travelled across the
deserts, to the centuries of pearl harvesters along the Arabian Gulf.
• Today, the UAE takes a pride in the cultural past whilst supporting and
encouraging contemporary arts, literature and theatre. Dubai is strewn with art
galleries, museums and Theatre offering an insight into the past as well as the
future of the arts.
• n 1998 the City of Sharjah was voted the Cultural Capital of the Arab World and
houses a museum recording local history in the Sharjah Fort which was once the
residence of the Ruling Family.
• The oasis city of Al Ain known as the ‘Garden City’ with its natural springs and
palm groves is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
• The Al Ain National Museum exhibits archaeological finds from around the city
including stone-age and bronze-age remains.

Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras Al-Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm Al Quwain. , the UAE is a
smallest countries in the region among Saudi Arabia and Oman.

The United Arab Emirates, or UAE, is an Asian country situated in the Middle East
region. UAE area covering about 0.217 million square miles and a land border
spanning 620 miles in length. The UAE shares a border with three countries: Saudi
Arabia, Oman, and Qatar. The longest border is Saudi Arabia-UAE border spans 329
miles in length and the Qatar-UAE border is the short only 19 miles long. Totals area is
972 km² and the population is 1.45million in 2018

Abu Dhabi is a capital of the United Arab Emirates the mainland on an island in the
Persian (Arabian) Gulf. Its focus on oil exports and commerce is reflected by the
skyline’s modern towers and shopping megacenters such as Abu Dhabi and Marina
malls. The neighborhoods is Sheikh Khalifa medical City,Bawabat Al Sharq,Mussafah
Community, Al Maqta and more.

The time zone in UAE difference 4 hours behind Malaysia. For example, when
Malaysia 10 a.m. UAE is 6 a.m. .
6. Climate
The United Arab Emirates has climate with very dry, hot and humid. Summers start from
April to September and generally warm and dry conditions in winter starts from October
to March but has a few rainfall during the winter months.The highest temperature
recorded reached 51.8°C Sweihan in Al Ain.Its the highest on Earth that day. The
coldest temperature recorded in the UAE was -2ºC, in Raknah, Al Ain.

Hatta Mountains near Dubai are a popular tourist destination
One of the most popular mountains in Dubai, which is a part of the Hajar range is the
Hatta Mountain. This gorgeous mountainous region is a part of the emirate of Dubai.
Located about 105 kilometres or an hour and 30-minute drive away this mountain
retreat has a lot to offer. It’s a major part of the Hajjar Mountains as the area borders
the emirate of Sharjah and Oman.

The Palm Islands
The Palm Islands is one of the most popular islands to visit in UAE that is spreading
to an area of 5km to the Persian Gulf. Being one of the largest man-made islands in the
world, Palm Island is designed in a unique palm shape enclosed within 7miles of
crescent shaped island. The main motive behind building this magnificent wonder was
to offer accommodating space for more than millions of tourists. In 2006, the Palm
Islands was built with a coastal diameter of 56 km. Today the island houses more than
4500 residential places with 22 hotels, resorts, shopping malls, and other facilities.
Kite beach
Kite Beach is a section of Umm Suqeim beach, near the northern end. It's a wide, flat
beach, and this is where to go for kayak and paddleboard rentals. The exposed beach
is windy and popular with kitesurfers and kite flyers.
The sand here is a bit coarser than other beaches, with many shells. For off-beach
fun, there's a skate park and many little ice-cream stalls. Sole Mio is a family-friendly
beach club located right on Kite Beach.

Tourist Information
Visa Malaysia to UAE :
Malaysian passport holder, who wishes to enter/visit the UAE for tourism/social
purposes, will not be required to apply for visa, prior to entering the country, for a period
of 30-days.
Malaysia is among the 33 countries being exempted from the need to apply/pay for visa
prior to entry.
Any person caught working on a visit visa will be fined AED 50,000 and banned from
entering the UAE and those employing them will face harsh penalties.
Best time to visit UAE :
The peak tourist season is December through March; this is when tourist crowds flock to
Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Although all of the UAE experiences a hot and arid weather
almost all through the year, the temperature does go down during the winter months.
The best time to visit UAE can be considered to be during the months of November to
March, when the weather is neither too hot nor too humid, making it perfect for
sightseeing and traveling. It can’t really be called winters since the temperature rarely
drops below 12° C
Do’s and Dont’s in UAE :
• Do Not Make Rude Hand Gestures While Driving.
• Do Not Eat-In Public During Ramadan.
• Do Not Take Photographs Without Permission.
• Do greet everyone you meet, either in English or in Arabic by saying salamu
alaykum.
• Do dress modestly when visiting a mosque.
