The Importance of Material Development
CHALLENGES Too many of them and hard to find the most suitable for students. Especially with students’ diversity such as learning styles. Originality and reliable sources. Teachers may accidentally use unreliable sources and it will affect the materials’ quality Main source is the course book but it is not suitable to use anymore due to students’ learning styles and level are not the same with the course books.
IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS Development Increase the difficulty level to ensure students development Systematic Not confusing for the students and also the teachers Scalable Teachers can used it repetitively but still not boring to the students Assessment to acknowledge students’ ability and output from the lessons
My Opinion Therefore, for me, it is very important for teachers to develop their materials. For me, it is important for teachers to choose, develop and use the teaching materials. This is because, it will affect students’ acceptance towards the lessons and how they comprehend the inputs. Besides that, development need to be done because students may feel boring if the material is not challenging for them. For teachers, teaching materials are important because they assist teachers to make the lessons more engaging, fun and also comprehendible.
