STUDENT SUCCESS The Student Success Center’s job is to help you see and realize your full potential. We prepare and empower students to take on the challenges and opportunities that life has to offer. That process is never as easy as following a checklist. Students at NC Wesleyan benefit from structured programs that are customized to reinforce their individual collegiate journeys. Tutoring Services Supplemental Instruction is for some especially challenging courses. The Student Success Center embeds tutors in the course and our Supplemental Instruction Leaders learn alongside the students as well as provide sessions outside of class to go over the material and ensure success. Our Peer Tutoring program offers students support in a robust list of courses. The Peer Tutors offer sessions throughout the week and students can sign up for private tutoring sessions as well. NCWU’s Online Tutoring provides a 24/7 option for all students in a variety of subjects with qualified tutors from all over the country. The Writing Center is a great place to receive comprehensive guidance on essays, papers and oral presentations. You can get assistance on planning, organizing and revising your work to deliver a polished final product. The Math Lab serves as a resource for students, where free tutoring is offered for all levels of math. Students looking to refresh math skills or improve their math grade (even from a B to an A) should consider The Math Lab. Technology Support The Pearsall Library is equipped with a media production lab providing 3D printing, 3D scanning, cameras, tripods, lighting equipment, sound equipment and a portable green screen. Our Mobile Computer Lab is available to students who need to check out a laptop or iPad for the day, overnight or weekend. Co-Curricular Transcript A measurable way to tell your Wesleyan story! WesQuest, a platform which enhances student engagement and success, will help you track and document your engagement beyond the classroom. Measuring your achievement of the competencies employers desire, WesQuest is your dynamic, real-time co-curricular transcript to show others your experiences at Wesleyan.


First Year Mentors are a team of dedicated and constructive student leaders that are passionate about NC Wesleyan University and believe in every student’s success. From the beginning at WesWay weekend and throughout the fall, First Year Mentors help new students connect with the Wesleyan community. They serve as mentors and role models to first year students and attend an assigned COL 103 (Wesleyan Transition) course with them to be accessible and provide insight as a mentor. First Year Experience The First Year Experience program strives to inspire new students to maximize their potential by providing support and resources that assist in the transition to university and the Wesleyan community. This program consists of a one credit hour course for first year students, unique programming throughout the year to bolster student success and engagement, and a first year mentor who will help you every step along the way.


BISHOP LIFE NC Wesleyan is more than an education... it’s an experience!
