www.astrologicalmagazine.com May 2022 5 The astrological emagazine Personal Panchanga for Self-Transformation - Part 4 The Role of Nakshatra Dr. Rahul Raveendran Nair PREDICTIVE ASTROLOGY Self-transformation can be defined as the changes in the self that occurs following (Carpenter et al., 1999) an event or a sequence of events that can be physical or non-physical. In medicine, the process of self-transformation generally involves a process called ‘Biographical work’ (Corbin and Strauss, 1988) that indicates, in general, the understanding of various parameters influencing ‘self’ and integrating the meaning of such things into the ‘self’. This paper presents a ‘Biographical work’ in its widest meaning but in the area of astrology with special reference to Personal Panchanga (PP) to throw light onto the influence of it on the life of an individual and thereby helps to induce a positive self-transformation by proper comprehension. The author would like to call it a ‘Pentagonal Panchanga Model for Sustainable Self-Transformation’. A pentagram or pentagon represents ‘spirit and matter’ in a manifested form on Earth (i.e., life) or the ‘microcosm’ (Blavatsky, 1899). During the process of birth, the soul receives a physical body (manifestation in the material realm) by the interaction of five great elements such as Prithvi, Apas, Agni, Vayu, and Akasha. This is the rationale behind proposing this model. The author holds a PhD in Plant Biotechnology and currently works as a Research scientist in a Conservation Laboratory (Aushmath Biosciences) located at Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. He has done a course on Jyothish from Bhagyalipi Jyotirvidya Gurukula Ashram, Odisha and was awarded the ‘Jyotisha Shree’ title in 2018. His research is broadly focussed on two aspects of nature, viz., tangible aspects and intangible aspects. The state of Nakshatras (affliction, placement, sign lord, nakshatra lord) results in varying positive and negative events in one’s life. The planet Moon represents past life (Frawley, 1992). When one connects his/her mind (Moon) with Nakshatra, he/she will be able to develop certain patterns of thoughts to make specific constructive actions by maximising the utilisation of positive resources from the past lives to increase his/her consciousness to a greater extent in this life. In the past issues, I have provided the nature of constellations, primary motivations, keywords to note, and respective remedies for nakshatras in detail. We’ll continue the nakshatras in this issue. 5. Mrigashira Nakshatra If the Moon was transiting Mrigashira Nakshatra at the time of an individual’s birth into this physical world, then his/her Janma Nakshatra is Mrigashira. Varaha Mihira in Brihat Jataka (Ch.16: Rikshasïlädhyäya) states that the person who is born under this Nakshatra will be variable, cowardly, skilful, good speaker, hopeful, rich, and jolly. For a Mrigashira born, these words (variations, skills, hope, richness, and enjoyment) really matter for developing appropriate thought management practices for connecting his/her mind with the cosmic one. Mrigashira Nakshatra dispenses subtle energy patterns (SEPs) that resonate with variations, skills, and richness to the planet Moon (mind) of a Mrigashira born. The nature of these SEPs is ‘seeking and searching’. When one seeks and searches truly to reach a point of conviction/truth, variations in the travelling path are bound to happen with a hope to collect/grab more information. Mrigashira wants one to search various ways (it can be as simple as - speaking to different people),
www.astrologicalmagazine.com May 2022 6 The astrological emagazine then utilise the richness of information collected to apply them skillfully in the primary area of search to finally become joyful about his/her search. The very first step to connect the native’s mind with Mrigashira Nakshatra is to understand that the best approach to maximise the constructive utilisation of positive resources from one’s past Karmas is by identifying one’s primary interest/ commitment followed by collecting facts, suggestions, perspectives, and ideas from various fields/disciplines to choose the suitable ones and applying them to his/her core interests to fortify it (Vic Dicara, 2019). Worshipping methods to receive the blessings of Mrigashira Nakshatra (Warier, 2017): 1. On Tuesdays, chant ‘Om Bhaum Bhaumaya Namah’ 108 times. 2. When Moon transits Mrigashira, Chitra, or Dhanishta Nakshatras, worship Lord Subramanya (if Mars is in male sign) or Goddess Bhadrakali (if Mars is in female sign). 3. When Tuesday and Mrigashira come together, perform ‘Angaraka pooja’. 4. Chant the Mool Mantra of Mrigashira Nakshatra ‘Om Chandramase Namah’ 108 times when Moon transits Mrigashira Nakshatra. For primary motivation: Start a new mission about your life on the day of Mrigashira (if possible, when Tuesday and Mrigashira come together) to set the primary interest and give a name to it. Note that this new mission is a private-life matter. Find the Pada in which your Moon is placed and identify the letter associated with that Pada. The name of the mission should start with that letter; then, follow the path mentioned above. 6. Ardra Nakshatra If the Moon was transiting Ardra Nakshatra at the time of an individual’s birth into this physical world, then his/her Janma Nakshatra is Ardra. Varaha Mihira in Brihat Jataka (Ch.16: Rikshasïlädhyäya) states that the person who is born under this Nakshatra will be insincere, cruel, proud, ungrateful, and sinful. For an Ardra born, these words (insincerity, cruelty, proudness, ungratefulness, and sin) matter for developing appropriate thought management practices for connecting his/her mind with the cosmic one. It is important to note that these words denote ‘extremes’ of this dual world and if anyone carries these feelings for long without any corrective measures, then sorrow and disappointments will surely follow. Ardra Nakshatra dispenses subtle energy patterns (SEPs) that resonate with ‘extremes’ to the planet Moon (mind) of an Ardra born. The ‘extremes’ develop strong and overwhelming feelings in the mind of an Ardra born (Defouw and Svoboda, 1996). The nature of these SEPs is ‘constantly transforming and probing’. The Ardra Nakshatra wants one to undergo constant transformations through probing at the background of ‘extremes’. Now, the possible question would be ‘how can Ardra natives handle extremes constructively to undergo positive transformations?’. The answer is, ‘Take Heart from Thoughts’ (Defouw and Svoboda, 1996), that is, avoid mixing ‘emotions and thoughts ’. The very first step to connect the native’s mind with Ardra Nakshatra is to understand that the best approach to maximise the constructive utilisation of positive resources from one’s past Karmas is by thinking, analysing and contemplating by keeping heart away from thoughts to develop a futuristic vision about life (Trivedi, 2016) which gives pride and satisfaction (Defouw and Svoboda, 1996). Worshipping methods to receive the blessings of Ardra Nakshatra (Warier, 2017): 1. When Moon transits Ardra, Satabhisha or Swati a) Perform Abhisheka on ‘Naga Raja’ or ‘Naga Yakshi’, if Rahu is in Lagna. b) Perform ‘Sarpa Bali’, if Rahu is in 6th, 8th or 10th houses c) Perform ‘Naga Pattu’ (song of snakes), if Rahu is in the 12th house. d) Perform ‘Naga Pattu’ and ‘Sarpam Thullal’, (dance of snakes), if Rahu is in 7th house. e) Install ‘Naga idol’ in a temple where snake nest is available if Rahu is in the 5th house. 2. Plant ‘Karimaram’ (Diospyros ebenum) in Snake groves. 3. Chanting the Mool Mantra of Ardra Nakshatra ‘Om Rudraya Namah’ 108 times every day. For primary motivation: Do a thorough check within and around you to identify the things (feelings/physical objects) which are of no use now. After identification, just discard them. Follow this once every 6 weeks or at least every 6 months in your life. 7. Punarvasu Nakshatra If the Moon was transiting Punarvasu Nakshatra at the time of an individual’s birth into this physical world, then his/her Janma Nakshatra is Punarvasu. Varaha Mihira in Brihat Jataka (Ch.16: Rikshasïlädhyäya) states that the person, who is born under this Nakshatra possesses religious endurance, goodness, happiness, dullness, sickness, thirst, and can be pleased with small gifts. For a Punarvasu born, these words (endurance, thirst, sickness, small gifts, good and dull) really matter for developing appropriate thought management practices
www.astrologicalmagazine.com May 2022 7 The astrological emagazine for connecting his/her mind with the cosmic one. These words may seem unrelated but if we try to dig out the inner meaning, the dots will be connected. Endurance for the good means the ability of a person to tolerate all difficulties in the path to reach the goal without giving away in the middle. Thirst, sickness, and dullness are the words indicating this Nakshatra’s definition of a kind of thirst either to drink a remedy for curing sickness or to drink a remedy for removing the dullness. Both remedies are helping the individual to regain strength. Sickness and dullness indicate the weakness a native possesses. The remedy comes in the form of small gifts and the remedies (small gifts) make the individual happy by curing either sickness or dullness or both. The small gifts are the right questions that a native should ask repeatedly to himself/herself to move forward in reaching the set goal. When the native finds answers to the right questions, he/she is considered to be pleased with small gifts. Punarvasu Nakshatra dispenses subtle energy patterns (SEPs) that resonate with ‘endurance, thirst, sickness, dullness’ to the planet Moon (mind) of a Punarvasu born. The nature of these SEPs is ‘renewing and evolving’ (Vic Dicara, 2019). The very first step to connect the native’s mind with Punarvasu Nakshatra is to understand that the best approach to maximise the constructive utilisation of positive resources from one’s past Karmas is by avoiding philosophising ‘inertia’ of his/her mind to fix the goal and move forward by asking right questions to transform his/ her ‘weaknesses to strength’ (Trivedi, 2016). Worshipping methods to receive the blessings of Punarvasu Nakshatra (Warier, 2017): 1. Chanting Vishnu Sahasra Nama regularly 2. Chanting the Mool Mantra of Punarvasu Nakshatra ‘Om Adhithaye Namah’ 108 times when Moon transits Punarvasu Nakshatra For primary motivation: Making pilgrimages and asking for divine guidance when the native makes ‘Pradakshina’ around the Deity. 8. Pushya Nakshatra If the Moon was transiting Pushya Nakshatra at the time of an individual’s birth into this physical world, then his/ her Janma Nakshatra is Pushya. Varaha Mihira in Brihat Jataka (Ch.16: Rikshasïlädhyäya) states that the person who is born under this Nakshatra will be possessing control of passions, popular, learned, rich and charitable. For a Pushya born, these words (control, passion, popularity, learning, richness and charity) really matter for developing appropriate thought management practices for connecting his/her mind with the cosmic one. Passion creates an urge to act in one or the other way. But, the push of passion can make us jump into a certain domain about which we do not have much idea or it can overwhelm us enough to get us ready to experience the domain. So, controlling passion meaningfully to learn about the path to travel is of utmost significance. This can be accomplished by checking keenly 1) the amount of knowledge gained; 2) the distance that we travelled using the knowledge, and 3) planning the extent of additional knowledge to be gained to travel again for a particular distance. This will help us develop a profound richness of knowledge in a particular sector and become popular in that sector by imparting our knowledge charitably to the seekers. Pushya Nakshatra dispenses subtle energy patterns (SEPs) that resonate with ‘control, passion, learning, and richness’ to the planet Moon (mind) of a Pushya born. The nature of these SEPs is ‘nourishing and expanding’ (Vic Dicara, 2019). The very first step to connect the native’s mind with Pushya Nakshatra is to understand that the best approach to maximise the constructive utilisation of positive resources from one’s past Karmas is by learning the process towards the objective and while you march towards the aim/objective, monitor the path through which one travels by assessing the knowledge gained and the sources from which one receives guidance at regular time intervals (Vic Dicara, 2019). Worshipping methods to receive the blessings of Pushya Nakshatra (Warier, 2017): 1. Grow a blue lotus and water it daily. 2. When Saturday and Pushya come together, visit Sastha temples. 3. Perform Durga pooja on Pournami 4. Chanting the Mool Mantra of Pushya Nakshatra Om Brihaspataye Namah 108 times when Moon transits Pushya Nakshatra 5. Do Pradakshina around Arayal (Ficus religiosa) on Saturdays For primary motivation: Listening to self-enhancement lectures of true saints. 9. Ashlesha Nakshatra If the Moon was transiting Ashlesha Nakshatra at the time of an individual’s birth into this physical world, then his/her Janma Nakshatra is Ashlesha. Varaha Mihira in Brihat Jataka (Ch.16: Rikshasïlädhyäya) states that the person who is born under this Nakshatra will be a dissimulator, clever in selfishness, sinful, ungrateful and a cheat.
www.astrologicalmagazine.com May 2022 8 The astrological emagazine For an Ashlesha born, these words (dissimulation, clever, selfishness, sin, ungratefulness, cheating) really matter for developing appropriate thought management practices for connecting his/her mind with the cosmic one. At the first glance, these words appear extremely negative. The word ‘dissimulation’ indicates hiding/ concealing. To hide/conceal, cleverness is essential. If someone hides something in the mundane world, a shade of selfishness falls upon it either for a benevolent cause or for a malevolent cause. If it is for a malevolent cause, it gradually turns out to be an act of sin and ungratefulness and then, the whole thing will become the story of a cheat. If it is for a benevolent cause, although there is no apparent harm, it will gradually develop suspicion in one’s mind towards everything and everyone around him/her. In both cases, the individual’s mind will be gradually dragged towards deeper dissimulating acts to ward off possible dangers. Ashlesha Nakshatra dispenses subtle energy patterns (SEPs) that resonate with ‘dissimulation, cleverness and selfishness’ to the planet Moon (mind) of an Ashlesha born. The nature of the SEPs of Ashlesha Nakshatra is ‘observing and intuitive’. Ashlesha Nakshatra wants one to know that one who is an expert in hiding/dissimulating things can effectively search and find hidden/dissimulated things/facts that are of use to him/her and also for others. The very first step to connect the native’s mind with Ashlesha Nakshatra is to understand that the best approach to maximise the constructive utilisation of positive resources from one’s past Karmas is by using one’s naturally intuitive observing talents to search and find things which can make himself/herself and people with whom he/she associates joyful, happy and benefit from (Vic Dicara, 2019). Worshipping methods to receive the blessings of Ashlesha Nakshatra (Warier, 2017): 1. On Wednesdays, visit the Sri Krishna temple 2. Chanting the Mool Mantra of Ashlesha Nakshatra ‘Om Sarpebhyo Namah’ 108 times when Moon transits Ashlesha Nakshatra 3. Chanting regularly Om Namostu Sarpebhyo Ye Ke Cha Prithiveemanu Ye Antrikshe Ye Divi Tebhyah Sarpebhyo Namah For primary motivation: Learning the ancient stories related to Naga (Serpents) to explore why serpents are reckoned as a symbol of ‘secret wisdom’. 10. Magha If the Moon was transiting Magha Nakshatra at the time of an individual’s birth into this physical world, then his/ her Janma Nakshatra is Magha. Varaha Mihira in Brihat Jataka (Ch.16: Rikshasïlädhyäya) states that the person who is born under this Nakshatra will be possessing many servants, possessing great wealth, enjoying, respect elders and gods and very enterprising. For a Magha born, these words (servants, wealth, enjoyments, respect, elders, gods and enterprise) really matter for developing appropriate thought management practices for connecting his/her mind with the cosmic one. The word servant indicates the one who serves. Having many servants is considered to be an indication of great wealth and the servants pay respect to the one whom they serve. This world maintains its balance through interlinked patterns of ‘serving’ at different levels by various biotic and abiotic factors. Hence, if one wants to ‘serve’ an enterprise or wants ‘servants’ in an enterprise, the first job is to observe and understand the primordial mode of serving? i.e. Nature that serves us relentlessly. Magha Nakshatra dispenses subtle energy patterns (SEPs) that resonate with ‘servants, wealth, respect and enterprise’ to the planet Moon (mind) of a Magha born. The nature of the SEPs of Magha Nakshatra is ‘governing and achieving’. Magha Nakshatra wants one to know that one who governs must be able to serve to run the enterprise efficiently. The very first step to connect the native’s mind with Magha Nakshatra is to understand that the best approach to maximise the constructive utilisation of positive resources from one’s past Karmas is by following strictly ethical and moral conduct to establish a sense of identity to ‘serve’ and being ‘served’ by getting engaged in observing, sustaining and maintaining nature. Worshipping methods to receive the blessings of Magha Nakshatra (Warier, 2017): 1. Chanting Om Gam Ganapathaye Namah 108 times everyday 2. Perform ‘Tarpana ritual’ every day Link: https://vedicastrologer.org/tarpana/pdf/ tarpana_ss_sans-.pdf 3. Perform Ganapathi Homa when Moon transits Magha Nakshatra 4. Chanting Om Pitrubhyo Namah 108 times when Moon transits Magha Nakshatra For primary motivation: Spend time in nature to see how nature governs as well as serves us. 11. Purva Phalguni If the Moon was transiting Purva Phalguni Nakshatra at the time of an individual’s birth into this physical world, then his/her Janma Nakshatra is Purva Phalguni. Varaha Mihira in Brihat Jataka (Ch.16: Rikshasïlädhyäya) states that the person who is born under this Nakshatra
www.astrologicalmagazine.com May 2022 9 The astrological emagazine will be possessing sweet speech, liberal, handsome, fond of travel, and royal servant. For a Purva Phalguni born, these words (sweet speech, liberal, handsome, fond of travel, and royal servant) really matter for developing appropriate thought management practices for connecting his/her mind with the cosmic one. The word ‘travel’ indicates the path that is chosen by an individual to seek understanding about the creation/ existence of one’s self. Another hidden meaning is that for travel, one requires ‘resources’ and here, creativity is the resource one possesses to undertake the journey towards understanding creation. As there is no easy way of reaching this point in this mundane world, the eagerness to know more about creation and creativity are often diverted to sexual passion which is the primordial creative activity in this world. The term ‘sweet speech’ indicates the act of delivering the creative inner-self handsomely to others and most importantly, it is an indispensable activity in intimacy to make both partners further handsome to enjoy the process. In this mundane world, a strong urge to travel for understanding the mysteries behind creation often diverts one to end up being fond of liberally travelling through sexual passion by forgetting the very nature of it that it is only a tool for procreation. Purva Phalguni Nakshatra dispenses subtle energy patterns (SEPs) that resonate with ‘sweet speech, liberal, handsome, fond of travel and royal servant’ to the planet Moon (mind) of a Purva Phalguni born. The nature of SEPs of Purva Phalguni Nakshatra is ‘creative and recreational’. Purva Phalguni wants one to know that one who desires to understand the mysteries/process behind the creation must decide to travel towards the creator by expressing creatively the inner self. But, this travel requires long-term motivation. The creative expression of oneself will become a matter of recreation later. The very first step to connect the native’s mind with Purva Phalguni Nakshatra is to understand that the best approach to maximise the constructive utilisation of positive resources from one’s past Karmas is by maintaining forethought and planning in all actions to sustain motivation for longer periods to properly express the creative self without getting diverted. Only through creative expression of self, the native will be able to understand that the ‘Creator’ resides within him/her and this physical body is granted to become a royal servant to the ‘Creator’. This understanding is essential for a Purva Phalguni Nakshatra born to evolve properly over time. Worshipping methods to receive the blessings of Purva Phalguni Nakshatra (Warier, 2017): 1. Worshipping Goddess Anna Poorneswari by chanting the Mantra ‘Om Hreem Sreem Namo Bhagavathi Maheshwari Annapoorne Swaha’ 108 times every day 2. When Friday and Purva Phalguni Nakshatra come together, perform offerings to ‘Yakshi’ in temples 3. When Sunday and Purva Phalguni Nakshatra come together, visit Shiva temples 4. When Moon transits Purva Phalguni Nakshatra, chant Om Bhagaya Namah 108 times. For primary motivation: Learn and get engaged in any creative activity as a part of your life. The more you express yourself creatively, the more will be your understanding of yourself. 12. Uttara Phalguni If the Moon was transiting Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra at the time of an individual’s birth into this physical world, then his/her Janma Nakshatra is Uttara Phalguni. Varaha Mihira in Brihat Jataka (Ch.16: Rikshasïlädhyäya) states that the person who is born under this Nakshatra will be popular, possessing self-acquired property, enjoying and happy. For a Uttara Phalguni born, these words (popularity, self-acquired property, enjoyment, and happiness) really matter for developing appropriate thought management practices for connecting his/her mind with the cosmic one. The term ‘self-acquired property’ is of immense significance as far as Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra is concerned. It indicates the ability of the self to acquire property either tangible or intangible. In intangible forms, concerning self, it can be related to self-esteem/ individuality. A high level of individuality is essential for staying put in a definite path to reach an assigned goal without being altered by people whom one associates with. Accomplishing the assigned goal will make one popular and then, he/she can enjoy the popularity. Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra dispenses subtle energy patterns (SEPs) that resonate with ‘self-acquired property and popularity’ to the planet Moon (mind) of a Uttara Phalguni born. The nature of SEPs of Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra is ‘path establishing and productive’. Uttara Phalguni wants one to know that maintaining individuality is the key to popularity. As mentioned, to become successful and accomplish, the intangible ‘self-acquired property’, i.e., individuality is very essential. The very first step to connect the native’s mind with Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra is to understand that the best approach to maximise the constructive utilisation of positive resources from one’s past Karmas is by choosing a path having an assigned goal to move forward by keeping your individuality intact while forming partnerships/friendships. It would be ideal if the assigned goal is related to any kind of sustaining purpose. Worshipping methods to receive the blessings of Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra (Warier, 2017):
www.astrologicalmagazine.com May 2022 10 The astrological emagazine 1. Chanting Aditya Hridayam regularly 2. Get exposed to Sun for 10 minutes daily by chanting Om Suryaya Namah 3. When Sunday and Uttara Phalguni come together, visit Shiva temples 4. When Moon transits Uttara Phalguni Nakshatra, chant Om Aryamne Namah 108 times. For primary motivation: Do some physical exercises under sunlight. 13. Hasta If the Moon was transiting Hasta Nakshatra at the time of an individual’s birth into this physical world, then his/ her Janma Nakshatra is Hasta. Varaha Mihira in Brihat Jataka (Ch.16: Rikshasïlädhyäya) states that the person who is born under this Nakshatra will be an enterprising, intelligent, shameless, drunkard, cruel and thievish. For Hasta born, these words (enterprising, intelligent, shameless, drunkard, cruel and thievish) really matter for developing appropriate thought management practices for connecting his/her mind with the cosmic one. Enterprising is the ability to find new ways of doing activities to make them successful. To do this, one uses hands to a major extent to execute what is discovered/ found by employing one’s intelligence. But, shadowy intelligence, which is comparable to that of a drunkard may lead to the use of hands to perform cruel/thievish acts. How to overcome shadowy intelligence?: To overcome shadowy intelligence, one has to be conscious of what he/she possesses and this concrete awareness about things he/she has acquired will encourage him/ her to make more achievements using skillful (hand) intelligence. Hasta Nakshatra dispenses subtle energy patterns (SEPs) that resonate with ‘enterprising and intelligence’ to the planet Moon (mind) of the Hasta born. The nature of the SEPs of Hasta Nakshatra is ‘attentive, alerting and inspiring’. The very first step to connect the native’s mind with Hasta Nakshatra is to understand that the best approach to maximise the constructive utilisation of positive resources from one’s past Karmas is by watching and examining every small thing that you possess to realise your potential in achieving your goals and also to stay inspired (Vic Dicara, 2019). Worshipping methods to receive the blessings of Hasta Nakshatra (Warier, 2017): 1. Chanting Om Hreem Dum Durgayei Namah 108 times regularly if Moon has Paksha Bala. 2. Chanting Om Aim Kleem Souh Hreem Bhadrakalyai Namah 108 times regularly if Moon has no Paksha Bala. 3. When Moon transits Hasta Nakshatra, chant Om Savitri Namah 108 times. For primary motivation: Get exposed to the first rays of the rising Sun. 14. Chitra If the Moon was transiting Chitra Nakshatra at the time of an individual’s birth into this physical world, then his/ her Janma Nakshatra is Chitra. Varaha Mihira in Brihat Jataka (Ch.16: Rikshasïlädhyäya) states that the person who is born under this Nakshatra will be using various clothes and garlands and possessing good looks and limbs. For a Chitra born, these words (clothes, garlands, good looks, and limbs) really matter for developing appropriate thought management practices for connecting his/her mind with the cosmic one. Clothes and garlands are used for enhancing the good looks of forms and appearance. To make clothes and garlands, two things are essential; a) the knowledge of how ideas can be converted into tangible things (limbs) b) how different things (limbs) fit together to develop the final form. Chitra Nakshatra dispenses subtle energy patterns (SEPs) that resonate with ‘clothes, garlands, good looks and limbs’ to the planet Moon (mind) of a Chitra born. The nature of the SEPs of Chitra Nakshatra is ‘expressing and creative’. Chitra Nakshatra wants one to know that the ideas should be given a structure and the structure should have some function associated with it. The very first step to connect the native’s mind with Chitra Nakshatra is to understand that the best approach to maximise the constructive utilisation of positive resources from one’s past Karmas is by using creative and expressing energies to give a form (structure) to ideas by always weighing form against function as a beautiful ‘form’ without an attractive function will never attract people (Vic Dicara, 2019). Worshipping methods to receive the blessings of Chitra Nakshatra (Warier, 2017): 1. When Tuesday and Chitra Nakshatra come together, chant a) Om VachathBhuve Namah, if Mars is in male sign b) Om Aim Kleem Souh Hreem Bhadrakalyai Namah, if Mars is in female sign 2. When Moon transits Chitra Nakshatra, chant the Mool mantra Om Viswakarmane Namah 108 times. To be cont. pg 24
www.astrologicalmagazine.com May 2022 22 The astrological emagazine For primary motivation: Be attentive to dress in such a way that the clothing suits you perfectly irrespective of the price/brand. 15. Swati If the Moon was transiting Swati Nakshatra at the time of an individual’s birth into this physical world, then his/her Janma Nakshatra is Swati. Varaha Mihira in Brihat Jataka (Ch.16: Rikshasïlädhyäya) states that the person who is born under this Nakshatra will be polite, merchant, kind-hearted, not able to endure thirst, sweet-tongued and generous. For a Swati born, these words (politeness, merchandise, kindness, sweet tongue and generosity) really matter for developing appropriate thought management practices for connecting his/her mind with the cosmic one. The word merchandise roughly indicates the growth happening as a result of interacting with a group of people/society/community outside the private space. When one starts merchandise to become a good merchant, the state of his/her merchandise will be fragile and vulnerable initially. But the merchandise strives to self-individuate with time and gains its own identity provided the procrastination induced by initial fragility and vulnerability are taken care of. In this process, a generous approach coupled with a kind and sweet speech (sweet tongue) is essential. Like a plant that produces branches when it grows, during the process of evolution the merchandise may develop other merchandising branches for proving the capability of ‘self-individuation’. But, this may cause off-track running if the meaning of growth and self-individuation are not distinguished. Swati Nakshatra dispenses subtle energy patterns (SEPs) that resonate with ‘merchandise’ to the planet Moon (mind) of a Swati born. The nature of the SEPs of Swati Nakshatra is ‘individualising’. Swati Nakshatra wants one to know that individuation is a tool for growth but it should be justified as a way for getting distracted from the initial plans and objectives. The very first step to connect the native’s mind with Swati Nakshatra is to understand that the best approach to maximise the constructive utilisation of positive resources from one’s past Karmas is by learning that although a variety of original ideas emerge, staying with the process that he/she has initiated till the completion without any procrastination will impart a conscious and lasting worth of individuation. Worshipping methods to receive the blessings of Swati Nakshatra (Warier, 2017): 1. Chanting regularly the following mantra 108 times: Om Nama Kamaroopine Mahabalaya Nagadhipataye Namah 2. Planting and growing ‘Neermaruthu’ (Terminalia arjuna) in Snake groves. 3. Perform Maha Lakshmi pooja when Swati and Friday come together. 4. Chanting mool mantra of Swati ‘Om Vayave Namah’ 108 times when Moon transits Swati. For primary motivation: Perform simple Pranayama. 16. Visakha If the Moon was transiting Visakha Nakshatra at the time of an individual’s birth into this physical world, then his/ her Janma Nakshatra is Visakha. Varaha Mihira in Brihat Jataka (Ch.16: Rikshasïlädhyäya) states that the person who is born under this Nakshatra will be a jealous, avaricious, handsome, clever speaker, quarrelsome, and maker of money. For a Visakha born, these words (avaricious, clever speaker and maker of money) really matter for developing appropriate thought management practices for connecting his/her mind with the cosmic one. If money has to be made, a clear-cut goal of making money is essential. If a clever one focuses only on the desired end, i.e., making money, it may eventually transform him/her to become avaricious and the ways of making it may become questionable. Besides, if any kind of impediments in the form of lack of skillset/resources/ assets come across the path of making money, jealousy and quarrelsome nature may start haunting such individuals. Visakha Nakshatra wants one to know that forming partnerships with people who possess complementary resources will help him/her to avoid such impediments (Vic Dicara, 2019).
