WARM UP

• *Two laps around the gym*
• Arm Stretches:

Left arm across chest
Right arm across chest

• Leg Stretches:

Stretch down (feet together)

Stretch down (left leg)
Stretch down ( the middle, feet apart)

TUG A WAR

• Instruction: All students split into two teams and
each team will go on opposite sides of the rope, when
instructed, both teams will pull the rope as hard as
they can using force and teamwork. Which ever team
pulls the rope harder wins

• Objective: pull the rope as hard as you can

• Equipment: Long Rope

• Key Skills: strength, team work

• Space Requirement: Half Court

• Time Requirement: 3- 5 minutes

KICKBALL

• Instruction: Students will split into two teams evenly. One
team will go to kick the ball and the other team will be out
on in the out field (gym). In the out field, you either pick a
base, be a pitcher, short stop, catcher or they can be back
field, where they will catch the ball.Their plan is to get the
opposing team out by catching the ball, and tagging the
runner with the ball.They have three outs, once they have
three outs, they go to kick. The pitchers rolls the ball to the
kicker and they kicker kicks the ball, once they kick the ball,
they run to first, second, or third base depending on if they
get out or not.Which ever team scores the most points wins
the game.

• Objective: Score as many points as possible

• Equipment: One kickball, 4 bases

• Key Skills: Team work, running, kicking, catching

• Space Requirement: Full Court

• Time Requirement: 10 minutes

CAPTURE THE FLAG

• Instruction: All students will split into two teams, and go onto
opposite sides of the court. Each team get one flag, which will be
on both opposite sides in the corner of the court in the hula
hoops. Once the game starts, players on each team will be able to
run to the opponents side of the court trying to avoid getting
tagged trying to capture the flag. If they are tagged they have to
go to the side line. In order to get back in, they must be tagged by
a team mate. Each teams will need to come up with a strategy of
how they will capture the opponents flag without getting tagged.
Once a teams flag is captured, the game is over.

• Objective: Capture the opposite teams flag without getting
tagged

• Equipment: bandanas/ flag, hula hoops

• Key Skills: Team work, running, cooperation, thinking

• Space Requirement: Full Court

• Time Requirement: 5- 10 minutes

EVERY ONE IS “IT”

• Instruction: Players will be scattered across the full
court. Players will run around and try to attempt to tag
other players.While trying to tag other players they will
have to avoid being tagged. Once a player is tagged they
must sit down.

• Objective: Tag as many players as you can

• Equipment: No equipment needed

• Key Skills: Running and chasing

• Space Requirement: Full Court

• Time Requirement: 5 minutes

RELAY RACE

• Instruction: All students will spilt into teams (depend on
how many students there is). Each team will get a baton and
line up in a line on the baseline.When the whistle is blown,
the first person in line will run as fast as they can to the
other side of the court and back and pass the baton to the
next person in line.The next person in line will run back and
forth across the court and pass the baton to the next person.
This will continue until everyone on the team has ran.The
first team to finish wins. If you drop the baton, your team is
out.

• Objective: To get through the obstacle course before the
other team.

• Equipment: Baton

• Key Skills: Racing, running

• Space Requirement: Full Court

• Time Requirement: 5- 10 minutes (However long it takes
participates to finish)

DODGEBALL

• Instruction: Each team will run from the Base
Line to Half Court Line and grab a ball. Students
will throw the ball to hit a player on the
opposite team (below the waist). Once the
student is hit, they must sit down. If the student
sitting down catches a ball then they are back in
the game.

• Objective: Get everyone on opposing team out

• Equipment: Dodge Balls

• Key Skills: Throwing, running, and dodging

• Space Requirement: Full Court

• Time Requirement: 10 minutes

RED LIGHT GREEN LIGHT

• Instruction: Everyone will stand along the baseline
on one end of the court. One person will be picked
to stand on the opposite end of the court.This
person will call put red, green or yellow light and the
students must follow instructions in order to get to
the other end of the court. Red means stop, Green
means run and Yellow means walk. If students fail to
follow the instructions they are out. For example,
caller says red light, but a player is walking instead,
they are out.

• Objective: Get to the end of the court without
getting out

• Equipment: No equipment needed

• Key Skills: paying attention, listening skills, walking
and running

• Space Requirement: Full Court

• Time Requirement: 5- 7 minutes

DUCK DUCK GOOSE

• Instruction: Students will all sit in a circle. One
student is picked.This student will walk around the
circle of students and tap each students head and say
“duck”, until they choose a person they want to tag.
When they choose a person they will say “goose”
and then run.The person they picked will stand up
and try to chase the other person around the circle
and try to tag them. If they tag them, they can sit
down and the person will have to walk around the
circle again, if they do not tag them, the person who
walked around the circle will sit in their spot and the
person who they tagged has to walk around the
circle saying “duck”.

• Objective: Try to tag the person who picked you
and said “goose”

• Equipment: No equipment needed

• Key Skills: Pay attention, react quickly, running

• Space Requirement: Half court

• Time Requirement: 5 minutes

ROCK PAPER SCISSORS HOOPS

• Instruction: All students will split up into two teams
and then go on two opposite ends of the hula hoops
that will be set up on the courts.Two people from
each team will hop as fast as they can through the hula
hoops until they meet each other.They will then play
rock paper scissors.Whoever wins will continue
hopping through the hula hoop while they other
person go back to their team.The next person in line
on their team will hop through the hula hoops as fast s
they can and meet the opponent.They will play rock
paper scissors and whoever wins is out and the winner
keeps hopping through the hula hoops.This continues
until a team player has hopped all the way to the last
hula hoop on the opposite teams side without losing
rock paper scissors.

• Objective: Get to the last hula hoop on the other
teams side without losing a game of rock paper
scissors.

• Equipment: Hula Hoops
• Key Skills: hopping, racing, playing rock paper scissors
• Space Requirement: Full court
• Time Requirement: 5- 10 minutes

HOT POTATO

• Instruction: Players will form a circle.As the
music is playing students will pass around the ball
to the player next to them. once the music stops,
whichever player has the ball in their hands is out.

• Objective: To not have the ball in your hands
when the music stops.

• Equipment: Bean Bag

• Key Skills: passing, paying attention

• Space Requirement: Half Court

• Time Requirement: 5- 7 minutes

KNOCK OUT

• Instruction:The first player in line shoots from the
designated spot. If they miss, the next person in line
can rebound the basketball, and then finish with a
layup or close shot around the hoop. As soon as the
ball leaves the shooter hands, the next player can
shoot the ball. If the first player makes a shot before
the second player, then they quickly rebound the ball
and pass it back to the next person in line. If the
second player makes a shot before the first player,
the first player is out.This continues until there's a
winner.

• Objective: make the shot in the net before the
other player.

• Equipment: Two basketball and a basketball hoop

• Key Skills: Shooting, Rebounding, Passing and Layups

• Space Requirement: Half court

• Time Requirement: 5 minutes

TELEPHONE

• Instruction:All students will sit in a circle. One
student is picked, and they have to come up with
something they want to say, then they whisper it into
the next persons ear next to them and that person
will whisper what they said to the next persons ear
and it keeps going until it ends up back at the first
person who came up with something to say. Once the
last person whispers into that person hear, they have
to determine if whatever the last person whispered
was what they had said at the beginning of the game.

• Objective: Don’t spread false information

• Equipment: No equipment needed

• Key Skills: Listening skills, memory skills

• Space Requirement: Half court

• Time Requirement: 5 minutes
