There are many reasons to pay attention to eco-
tourism and eco-friendly resorts are almost
contradictory in terms of the industry that

evaluates the position of its members based on
the perceived luxury, opulence and grandeur.

While physical appointment and service
standards have not changed, there is a growing

demand for environmentally sensitive travel
providers.

All in all, changes happened to our environment has
been a really high concern amongst the society. As the
conditions deteriorate, people tend to give more care
to the environment. There are five issues according to

Hasek (2007) regarding the changes to our
environment, which are higher energy cost; lacking of
idea in designing an environmentally friendly hotels;

climate change; indoor air quality; and the plan to
create a green practice itself, hence why many hotels
around the world trying their best to compete within
the industry on providing the top environment quality,
as well as putting practice to protect the environment

into place.
