structure.
● Hydroponics produces healthier and bigger yields. This is likely due
to increased oxygen level found in the nutrient solution and carefully
controlled.

Dance
Kuchipudi
ORIGIN
This classical style of Indian dance primarily
originated from the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh
in a village called Kuchipudi.
HISTORY
In 17th century, present
Kuchipudi style was
conceived by Siddhendra
Yogi, a talented Vaishnava
poet. Siddhendra Yogi first
developed a unique and particular style based on the Natyashastra,
Bharatamuni and Nandikeshwara’s Abhinaya
Darpana. It is said that Siddhendra Yogi had a
dream in which Lord Krishna asked him to
compose a dance drama based on the myth
of the bringing of paarijaata flower for Sathyabhaama, the most
beloved queen of Krishna.
SIGNIFICANCE
As an ancient art form, Kuchipudi has great significance. It is one of the major classical dance styles of
India. It originated from the Yakshganas, Vidhbhagvatam: the street plays and Temple dance forms of
Andhra Pradesh, India. Kuchipudi largely developed as a Hindu god Krishna-oriented Vaishnavism
tradition, and it is most closely related to Bhagavata Mela.
COSTUME
Women artists wear a brilliant colorful Sari (or a body fitting
dress) with a pleated fan stitched in front. The end of the
wrapped Sari is held fast under a light metallic (golden or
brass) belt at waist. A Kuchipudi artist braids her hair and
decorates them with flowers. Both have symbolic elements
embedded in their hair and face jewelry. The forehead has a
round red bindi or a symmetric tilak, while the eyes are
typically ringed with black collyrium. A dancer in a male role
would be in a dhoti.
How Does Kuchipudi Resonate with Gurugram?
Kuchipudi is a dance which is known for its impressive, quick
footwork. It closely resonates with the city of Gurugram.
Gurugram is a fast-paced urban centre.
It’s a big city with a population of over 10
million .Life in Gurugram, much like
Kuchipudi, is quick and fast moving. Gurugram grew swiftly from a sleepy town to
a major urban centre in just two decades. The charm of kuchipudi lies in its fast
and intricate footwork and the special thing about Gurugram is its rapid industrial
growth, which gradually made way to infrastructure, roadways, transport development.
