History of Me

Geography

When I was in fifth grade, I visited the country,
Jamaica. We took a plane at night and landed in
Miami in the morning. I didn’t really get a chance
to explore Florida like I wanted to, but I saw lots of
palm trees outside the window. When we finally
arrived in Jamaica, it was humid and very hot! It
took us three hours to get to the resort from the
airport, but we took a pit stop at a jerk chicken
place which by the way was so good! They had nice
tropical weather and when it rained, it was so
warm. They had shows at night and we saw purple
lightening. The ocean was warm and there were
little hermit crabs.

Religion

My religion is Catholism which means I believe in God,
Jesus, and saints. I sometimes go to church when my
Dad doesn’t work, but I haven’t gone in a while. When I
do go to church, I go on a Sunday to Saint Philomena or
Holy Family. We go to spanish mass, usually in the
afternoon and then go out to eat afterwards with my
family. Some things I do are pray every night and before
my Mom starts driving. Also, sometimes I go to church
on Christmas.

Achievements

One invention that has improved my life is light
bulbs. Light bulbs have improved my life because I
am not good with candles. Also, you can turn on
lights with just a flip of a switch. If I have to light
candles everyday, I will eventually light something
on fire or burn myself, on accident of course. Life
would be very different for me without light bulbs.
At night, it would be kind of dark at night using
light from candles which is why I can’t live without
light bulbs.

Politics

Some household rules that I follow are clean up
after yourself, don’t talk back, finish all
responsibilities before you do whatever you want,
and eat your vegetables. If I break a household
rule, I either get more chores, get sent to my room,
or get my electronics taken away. Also, if I don’t eat
anything healthy, I won’t get to eat junk food or
dessert. No household rules that I know of have
changed as I became older.

Economics

Some household chores that do are washing
dishes, folding clothes, sweeping kitchen after a
meal, and cleaning the table. Also, I help dust, put
away clothes, and clean my hamster cage. One
chore that I have gotten recently is sweeping
outside every few weeks. I earn an allowance of
$6.00 which is half my age. One week it goes to me
and the other week, it goes to my piggy bank. When
I grow up, I want to become a marine biologist
because I want to learn more about the ocean.

Social Structure

In my family, I have a mom, dad, brother, and
sister. My mother’s name is Gladys, My dad’s is
Jose, my brother’s is Jose Luis, and my sister’s is
Camila. Other family members that I have are my
Nana, Tata, Grandpa, and Grandma. Also, I have
many tias and tios. I have a big amount of cousins
who are so much fun. Some of my relatives live in
Mexico who come to visit often. As a family, we like
to relax, watch Tv, or go to places like the beach and
the park.
