Biography
Weighing at 2.9 kilograms, Prishya Surentharan was born as the older child of Surentharan and
Rajeswari. Prishya was born on a sultry afternoon on the 14th of September 2005 in Taman Desa
Medical Center. Exactly two years later, her brother, Dhanesh was born and in 2021, they got a dog,
Hera to complete the family. Prishya started her education at Tadika Sinar Muhibah at the age of five
and later went to SK Cheras Jaya when she turned seven. In 2018, she started her secondary
education in SMK Cheras Jaya and is still studying there to this present day.
Prishya’s love for reading sparked when she was 11, but it ignited only during the pandemic. She was
always into fantasy and supernatural related matters, from stories to television series. It is
undoubtable due to the fact that Harry Potter is the ground cause for this occurrence. Besides
reading, Prishya really likes to play video games. Her favourite is Minecraft, which is a survival
sandbox game. She’s not a really sporty person, but she enjoys skateboarding and solving the Rubik's
cube.
Prishya was never really outgoing but she has decided to change that and gain a reputation in
English themed competitions. In 2018 and 2019, she joined zone level choral speaking competitions
but she did not manage to take possession of the high ranks. But that wasn’t an excuse to fall out.
Instead, she put in extra effort and joined a public speaking contest a few months after and arrived
in second place. Prishya did join other competitions such as Rubik’s Cube and Taekwondo
competitions but she took a break from them to practise harder. She can currently solve the puzzle
under 30 seconds but that is nowhere good enough to join the competitions or championships.
Hobby
Reading has been a way to keep Prishya busy during the pandemic. She mostly enjoys reading
science fiction books but regardless of the genre, she finds most books appealing. She says that
compiling pieces of information into a physical form to be shared with others is the best idea by the
humankind. Currently, she is looking forward to reading Misha Collins' upcoming book, “Some Things
I Still Can’t Tell You: Poems".
Apart from that, she enjoys solving mind challenging puzzles such as Rubik’s cubes, mathematical
equations, sudoku and even riddles. Her love for brain challenge led to additional mathematics being
her favourite subject followed by Physics. One of the reasons she’s really fond of brain games is
because it requires focus and thinking, which may make you forget about the surrounding for as long
as you like. Often when Prishya's feeling stressed, she pulls up a maths book and does some
exercise.
Other than that, Prishya enjoys playing sandbox video games. Her favourite video game is Minecraft.
She enjoys both the creative and technical parts of the game. She says that Minecraft is a way to
express yourself without having much talent and practise in Arts. She plays other games such as City
Skylines and Planet Zoo but she doesn’t spend as much time on it.
As an extra, Prishya knows how to knit. She enjoys fancies working on small projects such as
bracelets and key chains but large projects can get draggy and tedious. Not to mention, Prishya has
other hobbies such as skateboarding, watching television and writing poetry.
Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone
J.K. Rowling
Bloomsbury Publising
Harry Potter is a book series by J.K. Rowling. The first book, Harry Potter and The Philosopher's
Stone, is about an eleven year old orphaned child of two powerful wizards who is learning magic. He
goes from being a mistreated child to being one of the most well-known student in Hogwarts. He
faces tons of inconveniences such as fighting a troll and facing the main antagonist by himself.
Putting myself in the Harry, the main characters position, I wish that the professors should've been
more truthful. I would like to know that there is a troll in the school before roaming around the halls.
The professors put loads of lives in danger to not raise panic. However, I would rather be panicked
and prepared than be foolish and potentially physically harmed.
Nevertheless, this story teaches that improving along the way and not having a plan isn't the worst
thing ever. The adults were afraid that first year students couldn't handle a troll, but it turns out
Harry and his friends exceeded the professors' expectations. Other than that, this story strongly
emphasises on the power of friendship. Harry and his friends, Ron and Hermione were together
nearly through out the book except for one part because the two of them were injured.

The Last Thirteen #1
James Clancy Phelan
EDC Publishing
The Last Thirteen is a book series by James Phelan about Sam, a regular teenager who was in a
traumatic fire which killed his best friend. Ever since then, he has been having nightmares about it
but there was a tall dark figure in it as well. Sam was part of a prophecy about a group of people
with special abilities. He was abducted by an organisation that’s trying to go against the tall dark
figure who’s called Solaris. Later on in the novel, they found out that Sam’s parents aren’t good
people which led Sam to have pretty much nothing other than this organisation that claims to be the
good people.
In my opinion, this story lacked details, both the storyline and the characters. The thirteen chosen
people have traumatic lives and the only uniqueness for some of the characters are that they can
see the future. The whole organisation against another organisation is shady because they both
seem like bad people and I can’t tell if Sam and the other twelve people made the right decision.
Notwithstanding my points, James Phelan did a tremendous job with the concept of this book series.
The predicaments the characters had to undergo was very well planned and I can’t imagine it being
any different.
