Once upon a time there was a company of boxes (but not only...)
that celebrated its 10th anniversary!

A birthday is always a good time to look back. Take a look in the
back mirror and see how far you’ve come from in just 3650 days.
Remember the highlights - the 1st bento box, the 1st show, the 1st  pro-
ducts in store, the launch of the subsidiaries too, and the Made in
France. Remember the anecdotes that make this past so unique,
here or there, as in the United States or Asia. Not forgetting the less
happy moments, the periods of doubt that we have overcome.

It is also the opportunity to live intensely the present, this beautiful
adventure, never a smooth ride, but so rich and fulfilling! Enjoy
without limit this experience that we share on a daily basis with
the whole monbento® team, personalities who contribute to the
building every day.

And it is already looking to a future that we imagine optimistic,
simple and more environmentally friendly.

The story of our company, the one we love and like to tell, would
not have the same content without our community, our customers,
our partners who believed in us and our values and who carried
monbento® so high. So with all our heart THANK YOU, thank you
for this tenth candle with a very special taste.

The brand

A company
with something special

Trained as a physical therapist, Emilie discovered the Japanese bento box by
chance. It quickly became useful in her everyday life. But despite its relevance
with the Occidental market, the product is diffcult to find in Europe. Faced with
this fact, in March 2009, when only 26 years old, she obtains the support of two
partners to create the monbento® company.

Hand in hand
with Peugeot

Driven by a desire to continually take innovation further,
the bento specialist brand has been proud to welcome the
P­eugeot Family Group as a shareholder since July 2018.
P­ eugeot is already active in the tableware sector through its
subsidiary Peugeot Saveurs SNC and this partnership opens
up new development vistas for monbento®.

Two hundred year old French brand Peugeot is well known in the tableware
and kitchen sector for its spice mills and other utensils (coffee mills, wine
accessories, cutlery), which reflect its style, ingenuity, rigour and sense of
family.
Exporting French quality of life to 90 countries, Peugeot Saveurs SNC is
experiencing rapid growth and continues to expand into new applications,
to take the constraints out of cooking… With this in mind, closer ties with
monbento have been created to reveal many shared values and joint
aspirations. A real taste for French design and know-how, sensitivity to
technology and innovation, an international outlook, and an appreciation
of the human dimension are the tenets that unite Peugeot and monbento®.
This commonality is behind the desire to join forces while maintaining each
brands’ uniqueness – to exchange skills, share experiences, support – and
move forward together to face new challenges.
Emilie and Fabien, still shareholders, will continue to manage the business,
and their team from the Auvergne mountains. Centred on a true spirit of
partnership, the company is branching out with new goals and an increase
in business potential that promises a future rich in major projects.

The Made in France
challenge met

The brand’s emblematic box - the MB Original bento box - has just added
an important chapter to its history. Exclusively made in China until then, the
product became Made in France in August 2017, for all its production dedi-
cated to the Europe zone.

Supporting the local economy while
reducing our carbon footprint

« Producing in France has been a desire since the company was
founded. With the growth of monbento® and its international
expansion, our production volumes have enabled us to restart
the search for local manufacturing partners for our European
market, while retaining our production with Asian plants for
our other markets.

Our requirements were numerous: preserving the DNA of our

flagship bento box, gaining

Why plastic?

• Reusable for a very long time: shock resistant and slow
wear

• Lightweight so easy to carry everywhere

• Microwave and dishwasher safe

• Transport and manufacturing that use less energy and
generate less CO2 than glass

• Easy and less frequent recycling due to its resistance
to breakage

The selection of monbento® « A 1-litre glass bottle
generates 345 grams
• PBT (polybutylene terephtalate): a high-end of CO2 over its life
material with excellent performance in terms of cycle, compared
rigidity and resistance. It is 6 times more resistant to 129 grams for a

For monbento®, being committed and responsible in
this struggle means proposing alternatives to everyday
situations; new habits that, repeated every day and by
an increasing number of people, will significantly limit the
negative impacts on the environment.

Our solution? Make the to-go meal in all its ways responsible
but not constraining it, by designing reusable containers
that are easy to transport, functional and elegant.
