Here is Tip 7, 8 and 9 -- a few more pointers
on staff ENGAGEMENT.
7. SHOW YOU CARE
Get to know your staff members so you can relate
to them on a personal level. Make a point to ask
about their hobbies and interests. The better you
know them, the more effectively you’ll be able to
identify what motivates each one.
8. REWARD CREATIVITY
Let your support staff know it’s safe – and in fact,
encouraged – to come up with new ideas and put
them into action. Your workers will know that you
value their opinion. They’ll also be more invested
and engaged if they’re working on something they
came up with. If someone’s suggestion, say,
streamlining the new vendor approval process
doesn’t work out as well as planned, don’t get
upset or criticize the person. Rather treat it as a
learning experience and encourage your workers
to apply the lessons to other projects.
9. BREAK OUT OF COMFORT ZONE
Encourage staff members to take on new
responsibilities and projects outside of their typical
roles. Make sure these assignments are
manageable for individuals in terms of difficulty and
workload, but also try to make them challenging
enough that they help employees build skills and
experience. By giving your works a chance to try
new things, you’ll demonstrate your faith in them
and promote them to perform at a higher level.

“Partners”
Webpage Up
We’ve been busy. There’s a new page on our website
with a button entitled “Partners”. The first link on this
page is an alphabetical list by company name with
their specialty(s) noted and contact information.
The second link is to a brand new offering for our
Business Partners where they can post a full page
advertisement.
What Managers can do to support and
acknowledge our Business Partners?
• Make yourself familiar with all our Business
Partners and consider them as you look for goods
and services;
• Share with other practice managers the
experiences you have had when working with
Business Partners; and,
• Express appreciation to them when you see
them at the meetings.
By showing that our Business Partners are considered
and appreciated we ensure that their vital financial
support will continue. Take time to get to know them
and say thanks!

This year’s theme is becoming reality! It’s happening!
A few months ago, the MGMA-NWMO board

set up all out association’s social media.
Yesterday we received a response, and today, after a
short interview, it looks like we have a great match.
She’s filling out the paperwork and submitting it. She
will be with us from August to December and we’ll
get our Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and more all set
and interfaced.
AND…

time one day to do the same in your building, area,
Amie McDonald, Membership Chair, will be grateful.
