My First Time Riding a Bike (Event 1)

By the title, you must think that this life changing event is
about me learning how to ride a bike. WRONG. One day in
kindergarten, we had a bicycle day where we could ride bikes
around the campus. That day all the kids’ parents brought
their own bicycles and my mom had not since she had thought
the school would be providing us some to borrow. Being my
mother, she didn’t want my day to be ruined so she left the
school and went out to buy a bike for me just for that day so I
can be biking with the other kids. For the bike hadn’t been
assembled she went back to my school and assembled it all by
herself with her own two hands just for me. Mind you, my
mom has never assembled a bike before and up to this day still
I’m very thankful for what my mom had done for me, and that
there are still people like her willing to be kind, out in the
world. My mom inspires me to be the person I am today, to
help other people, and do the kind simple things to put a smile
on their face.

The First Time I rode an Airplane (Event 2)

The first time I rode an airplane I was about 6-7. I was very nervous but that’s
probably no surprise, and very excited to be up in the sky. Being at the airport was
super exciting and I could not wait to get on the airplane and get the full experience.
Me and my mom were taking a trip to Manila, Philippines to visit other family
members so it was going to be a LONG flight. Once in the airport, we checked in our
tickets, went through the security check, and then went to our gate to go to our
terminal and after a short wait we were ready to go onto the plane. Me and my mom
had been seated, and after all the passengers had been in their seats, the flight
attendants had checked for our seats to be buckled and all safety announcements
were made. Few minutes had passed and the airplane started moving and next think
you know we’re up in the sky, and I’m thinking to myself I’m officially riding an
airplane for the first time. I thought about all the bad things that could happen but it
wasn’t that bad at all. I was even pleasantly surprised because the flight attendants
started going around and giving us meals. This airplane ride made such an impact
on my life because after this I knew I would never have anything to be worried about
and to be scared to ride an airplane ever again. This made a big impact on my life.

Paddle-boarding with my Aunt (Event 3)

During the summer of 2019, me and my aunt went paddle-boarding for the first
time... well MY first time. My aunt loves traveling and doing fun outdoor things,
so she knew how to do paddle board, kayak, swim, etc. My summer was pretty
boring at the moment, and I remembered a while ago that my aunt had offered
to take me out to eat and go paddle boarding at Redondo Beach. I took up the
offer and started getting ready packing my swimsuit, sunscreen, etc. It was
around 11am and we went to go get some food at Wendy’s so we can eat while
the paddle board was getting pumped since she had an inflatable. Once we
finished our food and the paddle was connected, the board was ready to go, we
took it to the pier where people go kayaking and paddle-boarding and she first
taught me how to balance and steer in the shallow water. She then sat from the
front of the board and I seated myself right behind her and she she paddle all
the way out to the ocean to the wall of these big rocks, and she let me
paddle-board by myself to get the hang of it for a while. I honestly had so much
fun, more fun than I thought, I felt free in the ocean and like all bad thoughts
went away ‘cause I was just by myself in the ocean (I had a life vest on and my
aunt was sitting at the rocks watching over me), but we stayed there for hours
and I enjoyed myself a lot. This made a big impact on my life because now I
know how to paddle board and when I’m older I can look back at myself and say
I went paddle boarding before.
