Trish and her children.

A broken marriage, child’s addiction and health issues
left Trish feeling helpless. She was a huge skeptic of
Christianity and was exploring many religions.

Trish was led to the Caring People and everything she
learned pointed to Jesus. She found the love and stability
she had never experienced before.

Trish says, “My Care Group is my family, my refuge. With
their support, I have persevered.”

With God’s help, she now owns her own bakery business,

Our MISSION

To create an awareness of and a desire to meet Jesus

To see thousands of Caring Women helping thousands of
Single Moms to fall in love with Jesus … to help Single
Moms grow up in Jesus and share their faith with their
children, their friends and family … thereby creating an
ever increasing and joyful body of believers.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe:

In one eternally-existent triune God . . . the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

God the Father created all things, visible and invisible.

Jesus of Nazareth, God’s only Son who is fully God and fully man, was conceived
by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.

God the Holy Spirit bears witness to Jesus and leads us into all Truth. He enables
us to receive Jesus as our Savior by believing in His death on the cross and in His
bodily resurrection.

God the Holy Spirit enables us to turn from sin and to live an obedient life of faith.

The Bible is the completed written revelation of God to man, given by the
inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is without error.

Bible study, to which all Christians are called, is essential to an obedient and
humble life.

Every believer in Jesus Christ is called to love God with his whole heart, mind and
soul, and to love his neighbor as himself. We are called to proclaim the Gospel
message and to specific acts of service to others.

It is by the power of the Holy Spirit that we serve others; He gives us gifts, talents
and resources.

Unity among those who follow Jesus reveals the love of God to the unbelieving
world and is used by God to build His Kingdom.

Having known the power, mercy and love of the Lord ourselves, we are able to
freely and generously shower unconditional love, acceptance and forgiveness on
those we come in contact with.

THE WAY OUR WONDERFUL MINISTRY WORKS

We recruit and train Godly, committed, Christian women to help Single Moms fall
in love with Jesus. We attract single moms who are outside the walls of the
church and we match them with these specially trained Caring Women. We
establish them together in Care Groups . . . where we see the Single Moms grow
to trust Christians and open their hearts to Jesus.

WHAT THE CARING PEOPLE DO:

THE CORPORATE OFFICE IS IN BRANSON, MISSOURI.
• We prepare and provide training materials and trainers!
• We find and recommend Care Group teaching materials.
• We provide other materials as needed.
• We provide spiritual and leadership support. We find and match Single
Moms with Caring Women in Care Groups
• We have a Care Group ready for you!

What the Caring People (and Caring Women) Do NOT Do
• We do not do social services.
• We do not do drug rehabilitation.
• We do not give money to Single Moms.
• We are not counselors.
• We do not “fix” Single Moms.
• We do not go into dangerous situations.
• We do nothing outside the parameters of a normal, healthy friendship.

About Us

The Caring People, a ministry to Single Moms, was
founded in Branson, Missouri in 1998 by JoDee Herschend.
The Caring People equip Christian women to serve in
small groups known as “Care Groups” as mentors, or on
a area planning team, for the outreach in your community.
Both roles are needed urgently. We are growing nationally!

How You Can Help

Join a local prayer effort, praying for the hearts of Single
Moms in your community. Prayer is a catalyst for change!

Lead

on an area Mission Support Team, organizing resources
for Single Moms and by planning special family events.

Call today and learn how you can be
equipped to serve Single Moms and

their children with the unfailing

Charline Johns, 28, is the mother of
three boys: Jashawn, 13; Kainan, 11;

did the strongest thing possible for herself and
her children — she left a violent relationship.
Leaving her mother, grandmother, friends, and

“My oldest son, now that he’s 13, I hear him

Charline moved to Mid-Missouri from
