4 On April 11, 2023 Junior School organised chart making competition. The topic was digital wellness. Digital wellness is a positive state of mental, physical, and social-emotional health pursued through intentional, authentic and balanced engagement with technology and interactive media. Students learnt about the importance of Digital Wellness. It was a spectacle to watch our students embellish their charts with colourful hues showing the knowledge they have gained. It is important as it not only enables students to be more engaged and productive but also helps them to lead healthier lives. 11 Student Council Elections is one of the most awaited days for the students as on this day they choose their leaders for the whole session, it was a two-day process. The students filed their nominations for various positions. The first day, during fourth period and recess time, they campaigned for their respective posts on 23rd April,2023 Next day, a special assembly was conducted for the contenders to read out them manifestoes to convince the students that they are right choice for the position. Then, the students from classes 9 to 12 were asked to cast the vote online. The entire process was in all respects a democratic process to inculcate a sense of responsibility among the students. Students exercised their fundamental rights by choosing the candidates of their choice. The event started with the photographs of the players with The Principal, Ms. Hanvey and director sir Mr. Hanvey. The first match was played between the Faith house and the Joy house in which the faith house won by one wicket. The second match was played between hope house and peace house, in which the peace house won by 1 wicket. So, the teams qualified for the final match were Faith house and Peace house. The audience were cheering their house members with full enthusiasm that captivated the event. Finally, the faith house won by two runs. Their joy knew no bounds when they won. 25 The Doon Global School organised an orientation programme for the parents of classes 10th to 12th on 29th April, 2023. The programme started with our respected Principal Ms. Seema Hanvey extending her warm welcome to everyone. This orientation programme was organised to familiarize parents “as partners in progress” with the curriculum and co-scholastic activities. The Principal talked about the importance of discipline, values and how there should be an ongoing partnership between parents and school to bring about holistic development of students. She. sought support and suggestions from the parents to provide good education to their children. One of the parent representatives stood up with some suggestions and was contented by the Principal, Ms. Hanvey. The parents were briefed about the upcoming Unit Tests, Half yearly Exams for Board Classes and extra classes for classes 9th to 12th . Later Ms. Mehar gave an overview of the details of upcoming curriculum and the activities which would be undertaken in the year ahead. Ms. Farah briefed about the co-scholastic activities which gave parents an idea of how our students are going to utilize the creative talents and energies to the fullest. 27 Quiz Fun Fact is an appreciated endeavour by the school as it proved out to be very informative for students and encouraged many students to be a part of it. Quiz Fun Fact helps the students in testing and enhancing their knowledge. It is an online event conducted on last Friday of every month and is open to all the students. 28 MONTHLY ACTIVITY Theme - "Park" Having fun and playing games with friends is essential for living a happy and healthy life. In the month of April children of classes Nursery to Grade 2 took active part in various activities based on the theme " Park". In second- and third-week students were involved in outdoor activities conducted in the school ground and played on the swings and gym area. In the 4th week students of Nursery to UKG did indoor activities like playing in activity room with their peers, enriching vocabulary, reciting poems, colouring park scene in the worksheets and Grade 2 students also expressed their experience in the park by writing a few lines. Through this activity, children were able to experience the joy of learning and playing indoors as well as outdoors with their peers. They also learnt many new words enriching their vocabulary.
