Take shot and live!
So many of you are aware of the passing
of my late and lovely friend and wife Cynthia Pastor Jarvis Smith
A. Smith. For me and our family, it has been with Cynthia A. Smith
one day at time, one step at a time, as we are
shoved into the next chapter of our lives.
Due to Cynthia’s severe allergies and other
medical conditions, Cynthia was not able to
receive the COVID vaccination. She died from
this life from COVID. She wanted the shot and
couldn’t take it.
I am told that over 90 percent of the people
who die from the virus are not vaccinated.
Numbers don’t lie.
We are also informed that people who take
the shot overwhelmingly survive COVID and
return to some level of normalcy. I would much
rather have my deceased wife in the category
of survivors.
However, I have no choice but to live on in a
stark reality that in many ways tainted by her
absence.
You, my friends, have a choice. Do not put
your love ones through this untimely, undue
tragedy.
Take the shot. It is the only medicine that can
save your life and protect your loved one from
pain.
Get Vaccinated Today
I just wanted to take a few min-
utes to just share with you my
quick thoughts and my own per-
sonal story about the virus and
how it has impacted my family.
My father, Pat Roberson, was
a very positive person who was
incredibly selfless and helped
many with their first jobs. He
started many restaurants and
businesses over the years
employing thousands. He was on
the Advertising and Promotions
Commission because he had
a genuine love for our city and
wanted the best for it, and he was
very instrumental in starting our
church as well.
Dad became sick at the end of
August and developed pneumo-
nia in his lungs as well as gen-
eral stomach problems. He was
at first fatigued, and then got to
where he couldn’t move at all and
had to be practically carried to
the hospital.
It was such a shock to me
because here’s this strong man,
my dad, who now was super
weak and unable to get around. Patrick Roberson with Pat Roberson
Dad had agreed to have the vac-
cine but had not made the time to
do so. I also had not really followed up or taken him to do it either. If Dad had taken his vaccine, there’s no doubt
that he would still be here. You see, three days after he went into the hospital, he passed away.
In fact, it was only a total of nine days that he was sick before he passed away. I will always wish that I had followed
through and made him get vaccinated. This virus is different from anything we’ve ever really encountered or seen
before. There are a lot of questions out there about it and a lot of information floating around on the internet. One
thing I can say is that those who are vaccinated do not get as severely sick. They often do not get critically ill unlike
those who have no vaccine. There are even young people who are dying from it.
It’s kind of one of those things that you think will never happen to you, but I am here to tell you that it can happen to
you. Covid does not play favorites; it can hit anyone at any time. I would encourage you to take this opportunity to go
get vaccinated. If you haven’t taken it yet, please consider going sooner than later. If not just for yourself, for the
loved ones you come into contact with. The shot you take today may save hundreds of lives tomorrow. Thanks so
much for listening.
Vaccines are safe, effective, and free of charge
