B​ ody Part Freeze Tag 

 
Instructions: In Body Part Freeze Tag, four people will be “it”, trying to 
tag peoples’ arms and legs while they are trying to escape. If a person's 
arm or leg is tagged, then they will have to continue trying to escape 
(run away) with the body part that was tagged, frozen in place. 

 
Objective: The last person that is not completely frozen wins. 
Equipment: None 
Space needed: half court  

 

 

    

 



 

​Fast Ball

Instructions: In Fast Ball, everyone will be spread out,
being no more than 5 feet away from a person. You
have to toss the ball to within 5 seconds of holding it
or you are out. If the ball is thrown below the waist
line, the person who made the throw is out. If the ball
is dropped, the person who dropped the ball is out.

Objective: The person who is able to be the last
man/woman standing with the ball will win.

Equipment: Ball
Space needed: half court



 

S​ teal the Bacon

● Skill Focus: Teamwork, listening skills, and memorization

● Objective: Bring the object back to your team without being
tagged

● Equipment: Any object that can be the “bacon”

● How to Play: The group of players is divided into two teams.
Both teams will line up on opposite sides of the gym facing each
other, and then given a number starting from 1 all the the way up
until everyone has an assigned number. It is important that each
player remembers their number because for each round the
instructor will call out a number and that player must attempt to
retrieve the object and take it to their team, without being
tagged. If done successfully that team gets a point.

● Rules: If you’re tagged before getting back to your team, you do

not get a point.

● You must go ONLY when your number is called out
-Time: 10+ minutes



 

Mouse Trap

Skill Focus: Cooperation, teamwork, and strategic thinking

Objective: Don’t get caught in the trap

How to Play: One player is selected to be the “cat,” which stands
with their back towards the circle. All the other players are the ice
going in and put of the circle that is made by 5-6 players, holding
hands. When the cat yells “trap,” the rams go down to catch
mice. Whoever is caught becomes part of. The trap and joins the
circle.

Rules: Whoever is last, becomes the cat for the. next round If
you’re caught in the trap, you become part of the trap Time: 10
minutes



 

​ H​ ot Potato

•Instructions: Players will form a circle. As the music
is playing students will pass around the ball to the
player next to them. once the music stops, whichever
player has the ball in their hands is out.

•Objective: To not have the ball in your hands when
the music stops. •Equipment: Dodgeball, Basketball or
Soccer Ball

•Key Skills: Passing

•Space Requirement: Half Court

•Time Requirement: 5-7 minutes



 

Hula Hoop Race

Skill Focus : Speed/Teamwork Equipment : 2 Hula Hoops

Objective : Be the first out of the 2 teams to get the hula hoop to the
beginning of the circle where it started

How to Play : Class will be divided into 2 even groups. Players will
join hands in a circle and move the hula hoop around the circle
without breaking the circle. The team to move the hula hoop back to
its starting position wins

Rules: Team members must stay connected at all times during the
game. A break in the circle will result in the team starting over from
the beginning

Time : 3-5 minutes



 

F​ our corners

• Instructions: P​ layers will run around

through the 4 corners of the room while the
designated counter counts to 10 with their eyes
closed. Once 10 secs is up all the runners stop
at a specific corner and the counter chooses a
corner. Then open their eyes and whoever is in
that corner is eliminated. Keep playing until one
remains

Objective: To be the last person standing

• Equipment: A stool

• Key Skills: stealth and pace

• Space Requirement: wide space room

• Time Requirement: 15 min



 

​Sharks and
Minnows(on Land)

• Instructions: T​ he shark stands in the middle of the play area and

say F​ ishy, fishy come out and play​. The minnows slowly walk towards
the sharks.At any time, the shark can yell ​Shark Attack! A​ t with point,
the minnows must run to the opposite boundary line without being
tagged.If a minnow is tagged, s/he also becomes a shark.When there
is only one or two minnows left; they become the sharks in the next
round.

• Objective: To not get tagged and become a shark. IF shark
to tag all minnows

• Equipment: none

● Skills: speed and agility

● Space Requirement: Full Court

● Time Requirement: 10 minutes for each game.



 

DOUBLE TROUBLE

INSTRUCTIONS: A​ LL PLAYER PAIR UP IN TWOS, AND LINK ARMS.
EACH PAIR MUST MAKE IT TO THE SAFE ZONE. PAIRS CAN BE
SPLIT UP IF TAGGED BY DR. TROUBLE , PLAYERS CAN ALSO BE
SPLIT UP IF THE STEP IN A PUDDLE OF LAVA. ONCE PAIRS ARE
SPLIT, THEY MUST FIND A NEW, PARTHNER TO PAIR WITH. NO
LONE PLAYER CAN ENTER THE SAFE ZONE.

OBJECTIVES: ​ONCE IN THE SAFE ZONE, STAY IN THE SAFE ZONE
HAVE A SEAT.

SKILLS: T​ EAMWORK AND RUNNING
SUPPLIES: C​ ONES(8)
SPACE REQIUREMENT: F​ ULL COURT

Concentration

Instructions: Everyone will stand in a circle and
someone will sing the concentration song. Once a
topic is chosen, everyone will have to name various
things in that category. Words can’t be repeated, and
you can’t hesitate to answer, each will result in an
elimination.

● Objective: Be the last player to get out

● Key Skills: listening, speed, & concentration

● Equipment:none

● Space Requirement: half court
● Time Requirement: 8 Minutes

Knock out

 

Instructions: All players are lined up behind the free throw line. Two 
balls will be given to the first two players in line. The first player shoots 
the ball, but if they miss then they need to quickly rebound and make a 
layup or another shot. When the first player releases the ball, the 
second player can begin to shoot the ball. If the first player makes the 
shot then he must pass it to the player behind the second player. If the 
first player misses and the second player makes the shot, then the first 
player is eliminated. 
  

● Objective: To be the last player standing by not getting eliminated. 

   
● Equipment: Hoop, 2 Basketballs 

  
● Key Skills: Shooting, Rebounding, Layups, Speed, Technique 

   
● Space Requirement: Half-Court

Chase Race

● Skill Focus: Teamwork and speed

● Space Requirement: Half-court

● Equipment: Two relay batons

● Objective: Don’t get tagged by the other player

● How to Play: Divide all participants into two even teams. Each team
forms a line on opposite sides of the court. On the instructor’s
command, the first player on each team starts running around in the
same direction (around half-court basketball line). Once the runner
goes around and reaches his team’s line, he passes the baton the
next player in line, and that person starts running around the court.
The goal is to catch the player on the opposite end and tag them with
the baton. When a player gets tagged, that team gets a point and the
game restarts. The team with the most points at the end wins.

● Time Limit: 10 minutes

​Telephone

● Skill Focus: Listening and comprehension

● Space Requirement: Half-court

● Equipment: None

● Objective: Relay the message that was told initially

● How to Play: All participants sit down in a single line. The
instructor will whisper one sentence to the first person in
line, that person then whispers the message to the next
person, and so on. The person whispering the message can
only say it twice, the listener must come up with whatever
they heard. The last person in line says the message out
loud for the instructor to confirm if it was correct.

● Time Limit: 5 minutes
