Making a Difference in your Family’s Experience
Thank you for taking the time to tour our pontoon boat. I hope that you take note of all the things on the surface and below, that separate us from our competitor’s pontoon
boats. There’s a bigger story, though, that I’d like to share...a story that really gets to the heart of who Barletta Pontoon Boats is, and why this will make a difference to you.
With over 30 years of experience in the RV industry, one of the things I treasured most, was the personal connections I, and my company, made with our customers and
dealers. The ability to stay in touch with the needs of our customers, employees, and ultimately the products we built was really the secret to our success. Grand Design RV,
a company started by my brother Ron, good friend Don Clark, and me, used a unique customer-focused/dealer centric business model that developed and fostered these
connections. In just four short years, Grand Design RV achieved wholesale sales of over $500 million and became the most respected towable RV company in the industry.
As an avid, long-time boater, I entertained the idea of entering the marine industry for years. From a distance, I could tell that the marine industry was ready for a shake-up
and our customer-focused approach would do just that. The timing never seemed right, though, until June of 2017, when a local manufacturing facility became available. An
overnight decision a decade in the making, I secured the location for what would become Barletta Boat Company.
Just as in 2012 with Grand Design RV, Barletta Pontoon Boats started with a blank canvas, allowing us to do things differently than what has been done over and over again. Bill Fenech, President & Co-Owner
We believe the end result is a product, and a company, that you will love. Here are just a few of the reasons why Barletta Pontoon Boats are the right choice for you and your
family:
Customer Focus - From day one, our focus has been on and will remain on you, the customer.
Experienced Boat-Builders - Our leadership team brings over 150 years of RV/Marine experience to Barletta Pontoon Boats. Our local hand-picked production team brings pontoon boat building
experience with an excellent reputation for quality craftsmanship.
Simple, yet Refined Products - We won’t confuse or overwhelm you with 100’s of choices that, quite frankly, turn one of the most exciting times in your life into a time you would rather forget. Our
boats have the most standard amenities in the industry, with just the right amount of available choices to personalize your Barletta. From the keel up, every piece of our boat is a conscious decision
with your experience in mind.
Quality & Construction - We have selected the best materials, with the best value, and have partnered with the best providers. You will rest easy knowing that your Barletta Pontoon Boat will
perform and function at the highest level for years to come. In fact, our pontoon boats are backed with a Limited Lifetime Structural warranty and a 10-year (5+5) Bow-to-Stern warranty.
Raising the Quality Bar - During production, every inch of our boats will be subject to the most robust quality-control processes in the industry. Once complete, and cleared for shipping, our boats
will go through an ADDITIONAL independent, comprehensive White Glove PDI (pre-delivery inspection) process. Only after passing this additional inspection will our boats be allowed to ship to our
dealers. Barletta Pontoon Boats is the only pontoon boat manufacturer in the industry doing this!
The Best Dealers in the Industry - We commit to partnering with only the best dealers in the industry - dealers who will meet or exceed not only our expectations for customer service, but your
expectations as well. Because of the strong support our dealers receive from Barletta Pontoon Boats, they will in turn be able to take better care of you.
Unequaled Customer Service - Let’s be honest - “stuff” happens. As you know, sometimes it’s not the “stuff” that we are measured on, but how we react. We will work hand-in-hand with you and
your dealer to do everything in our power to ensure you and your family never miss time on the water due to a parts or warranty issue. In addition, we are developing a Customer Resource Center to help
you with those minor issues that might pop-up while enjoying your Barletta Pontoon Boat. In everything we do at Barletta Pontoon Boats, we ask ourselves “How can I make our customer’s experience
better?” You will appreciate our commitment to honesty, integrity, and you, our customer. We strive for nothing less that customers for life.
We are building pontoon boats that will make a difference in the industry, and ultimately, in your family’s experience. My goal is not to be the biggest pontoon boat manufacturer in the industry; my goal is to be the best
pontoon boat manufacturer in the industry. I appreciate that you have taken the time to learn about our company, and would be honored to personally welcome you to the Barletta Pontoon Boat family.

One of the very unique things about Barletta Pontoon Boats, is that with other manufacturers more often than not, the first time Warranty hears

Frequently Asked Questions
Thank you for your interest in Barletta Pontoon Boats. Our goal is to build the best pontoon boat company in North America with a customer focused/dealer
centric approach. These are not hollow words; it was this approach that our President and Co-owner, Bill Fenech, along with his brother Ron and good friend
Don Clark, used to transform their start-up RV company to one of the most respected and successful RV manufacturers in the industry. The success of this
start-up RV company, along with Bill’s experience and leadership, has provided a road-map for Barletta Pontoon Boat’s future success.
During our conversations with interested dealers throughout the country, we’ve identified some of the most frequently asked questions. We are a dynamic,
start-up company and things are changing and progressing rapidly. We will remain agile and responsive to the needs of our dealers and our customers.
Q. Can you tell us about the owners of Barletta Boat Company?
Barletta Boat Company’s ownership group consists of managing partner Bill Fenech, our President and Co-Owner, and silent partners Ron Fenech
and Don Clark. These three have maintained a working and personal relationship for close to 30 years. Bill, Ron, and Don were part of the ownership
team that led Keystone RV Company to become the largest travel trailer and fifth wheel company in the world. In 2012, the three of them created
Grand Design RV Company and led GDRV to $500 million in sales in just four short years. Known for building high quality products and truly
partnering with their dealer network, GDRV achieved record setting scores from RV dealers on the Dealer Satisfaction Index (DSI) survey. Size was
never the goal of GDRV – building a great company was.
Q. Why is Barletta entering the pontoon market now?
Elkhart, Indiana is known throughout the country for RV and pontoon boat manufacturing. Because Bill Fenech was an avid boater for most of his
life, the pontoon boat segment has been on our owners radar for years. There is no other product segment more like RV’s than pontoon boats.
This is an industry we know and have experience in. The auto industry is many years ahead of the RV industry, and in many ways, the RV industry is
many years ahead of the marine industry. We believe we can make an immediate impact and disrupt the pontoon industry, for the better, with our
customer focused/dealer centric approach. There is a better way, and we know we can do it better.
Q. How committed/invested are the owners to the success of Barletta Pontoon Boats?
In June of 2017, the owners of Barletta Pontoon Boats purchased our 110,000 square foot facility and surrounding 37 acres, without incurring debt,
for $3.4 million dollars in cash. Then after considering the advice of several large accounting firms, we decided to capitalize Barletta Pontoon Boats at
2-3 times the recommended amount. We are well capitalized and insulated against future market fluctuations.
Q. What type of dealers is Barletta interested in partnering with?
We will be partnering with the best dealers across the country and Canada. We will only partner with great dealers, and will not settle. Our definition
of a great dealer is three-fold; a) they must have an excellent record of customer service, b) they must sell volume (not necessarily the highest
volume in the market, but a high level), and c) they must be able to maintain a reasonable margin. Dealers who can be reasonably profitable are able
to reinvest their earnings into better parts support, better training for sales and service personnel, and overall better customer service.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What is Barletta’s opinion on dealer territory size?
We feel that most pontoon boat manufacturers have too many dealers in the major markets around the country. Our plan is to provide our dealers
with a very generous territory, balanced by the dealer’s ability to penetrate the market and service the customers in that territory. With Barletta
Pontoon Boats, customer experience is priority one.
Q. How will Barletta protect my dealership’s territory?
Many of the marine manufacturers in the industry offer dealer agreements that are vague, misleading, and frankly, skewed in favor of the
manufacturer at the dealer’s expense. In our opinion, most of our competitor’s agreements aren’t worth the paper they are written on. We will
offer an EXCLUSIVE TERRITORY to each of our dealerships and will protect the territory to the fullest extent of our capabilities. Before you become
one of our dealers, we will work together with you to determine a fair and appropriate territory for your dealership; this means we will not place
another Barletta Pontoon Boat dealer in your territory.
Q. How many dealers is Barletta looking to partner with?
Our initial thoughts have us planning for 100-125 dealers across North America; however, there is still a large amount of due diligence required.
We will intentionally not “stack” dealers to maintain territory integrity. We will limit the number of dealers that we initially partner with so that we
can adequately supply them product in a timely manner.
Q. What markets/price segments will Barletta’s pontoon boats be in?
We will be in every MAJOR pontoon boat market that makes sense and has adequate volume. We will NOT be in niche markets as this takes focus
off our core products and creates complexity for our manufacturing plant, which in turn will severely hurt quality. Our first product offerings will
fall into the upper/mid-level, luxury pontoon boat segment. Our products will have more eye-appeal and standard features than the similarly
priced products of the competition.
Q. What motors will Barletta offer?
Initial offerings will include Yamaha and Mercury outboard power. We will drop ship motors to the dealerships, or the dealer can choose to have
us install the engines for them. We will also pre-rig for Yamaha and Mercury. If retail demand grows for other engine manufacturers, we will
investigate the possibility of adding to our engine portfolio. We will not, at this time, pursue inboard/outboard offerings.
Q. Will Barletta build tri-toons and bi-toons?
Yes. 26” diameter pontoons are standard, with full-length center pontoons on the tri-toon models.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Will Barletta offer a blackout package/model?
Absolutely!
Q. How many exterior color metals will you offer?
6 metal colors including accents. Your customers will be able to mix and match colors to provide multiple exterior color combinations.
Q. How many interior colors will you offer?
Three ultra-soft, main fabric color options with one stitching/welt color, and one optional quilted accent per furniture package.
Q. What initial floorplans is Barletta bringing to market?
Initially, we will offer an Ultra-Lounge (flip-back), and a quad-lounge floorplan. All floorplans will be available in 23 and 25 foot lengths. 21 foot
floorplans will be introduced Summer/Fall of 2018.
Q. Will Barletta clone their products?
Absolutely not. We will protect the Barletta Pontoon Boat brand and our dealer partners in the market place. Producing and placing another
brand by the same manufacturer in your market is not a strategy we agree with.
Q. What is Barletta’s warranty?
While we continue to develop our warranty policy and procedures, we can tell you that we are offering a 10 (5+5) year bow-to-stern warranty with
a limited-lifetime structural warranty.
Q. How does Barletta plan to build the best quality pontoon boats in the industry that are showroom ready upon delivery to the dealer?
Many of the dealers we have talked to have shared the same story regardless of the brand of pontoon boat they carry – the dealer hates being the
last 100 feet of the OEM production line. Boats are delivered with defects, with missing parts, with incorrect options, etc. Our solution is simple…
reduce complexity and commit to quality.
First, complexity IS the enemy of quality. Our competitors have too many floorplans, product levels, options, exterior colors, interior choices,
flooring choices, etc. This is very frustrating and creates confusion for the dealer and the retail customer alike. The amount of variables kills
quality and the ability for the manufacturer and the suppliers to deliver. As a cost saving measure, many manufacturers de-content their boats by
removing items that you order the vast majority of the time and then charge you more to add them back into the build. At Barletta, we will have
more standard features and offer a very select list of options. If an item should be standard on a pontoon boat, it will be. Reduce the confusion
and the complexity, and quality will rise.

Frequently Asked Questions
Secondly, we will have a White-Glove multi-point pre-delivery inspection (PDI) process BEFORE the boat leaves the factory. After the boat is
complete and cleared for shipping (where a competitor would normally ship), each boat will go through an additional multi-point inspection
process completely separate from the production line. Inspectors will look for fit and finish and aesthetic defects and they will perform additional
functionality testing. If, and only if, your boat passes this additional PDI inspection, will it then be approved for shipping to your dealership. The
pontoon boat will pass through a photo booth at the end of the line, and a series of photos will be taken of the boat that will be uploaded to a
website for your immediate use.
We are committed to building and delivering pontoon boats to your dealership that are showroom ready and are of the highest quality in the
industry - this commitment is not just cheap OEM talk, but is backed by actions we take each and every day.
Q. How will Barletta attract employees for production?
We certainly acknowledge the tight labor market in Elkhart County. However, we are finding that people want to join our team. We believe that
being a great company to work for with competitive benefits and clear job expectations will allow us to successfully build a great team. In fact, we
are finding it difficult to stay on top of the applications in response to local job postings, and have been further inundated with job inquiries from
people who are finding us on their own.
Q. Other boat manufacturers are having difficulty getting furniture for their products. How does Barletta plan to address the supply shortage?
We have chosen to partner with Lexington and have been assured, many times, that Lexington will have capacity for us especially in the near term
as our production ramps up. Key to our success in securing furniture for our products is our strategy of simplifying our product builds. We believe
that this will assist our suppliers in being efficient and on-target for our deliveries.
