Rules

One rule is that each team starts
with 9 player on the field. Another
rule is when you are bating you
need a helmet. When you are
running the bases you need to
touch the base. In each inning of
the game when you are batting
the other team has to get outs.
Once they get three outs then
they switch sides.

This diagram shows
the rules of the
baseball field.

Field Positions

In baseball there are important field positions that you need to learn. First there are the bases.
First base, second base and third base. Those are the most important bases because if bases are
loaded whoever gets the ball is going to have to throw it to first base second base or third base to
get an out. Another base is home plate. The position is catcher. The catcher catches the ball from
the pitcher and makes outs at home plate.

There are field positions. Left field, center field and right field. If the ball is hit out to the grass these
players catch it and throw it to a base. If they don’t catch it they have to chuck it to the dirt field to
get it in fast.

Batting

First you need a helmet and bat. Next take a few practice swings. Then go up to
the plate and hit the ball. Make sure that you swing at strikes. If the ball is too low
or too high don’t swing. Once you hit the ball you run to first base. Then if the
coach tells you to go to second base you go to the base. The coach may tell you
to run to second base if the ball is far out in the field.

This is a picture of batting.

Teams

There are many MLB teams. There are two divisions. The two divisions are
American and National. Below are a few teams.

American National
Yankees Mets
Red Sox Cubs
White Sox Braves
Orioles
Diamondbacks

Baseball vs. Football

Baseball and football compare in some ways. One way
they are in common is they both use balls. Another way
they are similar is if you win you get trophies. Both sports
have rules you need to follow. One of those rules is you
need to wear your jersey.

Baseball and football do not compare in some ways. One
way they are different is in baseball there are bases.
Football does not have bases. A football field is different
from a baseball field because it is just turf or grass .A
baseball field is a diamond and dirt
