Smoking is not allowed inside Club facilities.

GOLF COURSE
U.S.G.A. rules shall govern all play on the golf course except for those local
rules which are printed on the score card and those rules which may be
applicable for any given tournament.
During periods of inclement weather or early darkness, the Golf Shop may
close early if the golf course is clear of players. Please call the Golf Shop if
service is required at times when the Golf Shop may be closing early. The
Golf Shop hours may be extended as required to accommodate golfers
during tournaments and during periods of excessive play.

Starting times are strongly encouraged, and all members and guests must
register with the Golf Shop before teeing off. Coordination of tee times and
players on the golf course shall be under the direction of the Golf
Professional. If you arrive at Baywood without a tee time, there is no
guarantee that you will get to play. Although the Golf Shop staff will be as
accommodating as possible, reserved tee times insure you a spot on the golf
course. We encourage all members that if you can not make your tee time to
please cancel a minimum of one hour in advance to allow someone else that
spot.

All players shall start from the first tee unless otherwise directed by the Golf
Shop staff. Players wishing to begin their round from the 10th tee must
obtain permission from the Golf Shop before teeing off.

Each player must have a set of clubs.
The Board of Directors encourages an active role from the Golf Shop in

monitoring the speed of all play.
Any groups delaying play between the ninth green and tenth tee, and

causing said group to lose its place, must receive clearance from the Golf
Shop if other groups are waiting to tee off on the tenth hole.

Appropriate golf attire shall be worn at all times on the golf course. See the
Dress Code for more information.

No outside food or beverage may be brought onto the course.
Refreshments may be obtained from the Swan Lounge, Snack Bar or
Refreshment Cart.
Shotgun starts will be reserved for those tournaments of 50 players or
more, where the entire nine holes can be blocked off at a time. Exceptions
will be allowed when arranged through the Head Golf Professional.

Recreational walking or jogging is not permitted. Spectators will be allowed
to walk or ride along with the group. Each person must remain in very close
proximity to their group. All spectators assume the risk of injury or damage of
any kind.

Minors not playing must stay within close proximity with parents. Minors may
not be loud or disruptive in any way that detracts from the member’s
enjoyment of Baywood when accompanying parents. Parents are required to
closely monitor and supervise the activity of their minor children.

The above set-forth rules apply generally, but in any instance where a specific
tournament or other event authorized by the Board of Directors conflicts with
those rules, those rules shall be deemed to be superseded.

HANDICAPS
1. All players are required to have an established or temporary handicap to

compete in any Club tournament. Temporary
handicaps may be established by the Golf Professional for those who do not
have an established handicap.
2. The Handicap Committee has the authority at any time to adjust, either
upward or downward, the established or temporary
handicap of any member when, in the Handicap Committee’s sole
discretion, such an adjustment appears to be warranted. A member shall
have the right to appeal the Handicap Committee’s decision to the Baywood
Board of Directors.
3. In all club handicap tournaments, including those in which guests are
permitted to play, the Handicap Committee is
responsible for designating the handicaps that are used. The committee has
authority to adjust handicaps of members and participating guests. Unless
the Handicap Committee authorizes an exception, the handicap system
designated by the Northern California Golf Association shall be used.
4. Children of members may obtain an established handicap by
joining the NCGA (boys) or WGANC (girls). In the absence of such handicaps,
the chair of the Junior Golf Program may assign a temporary handicap for
use in any junior tournament.
5. The Handicap Committee is responsible for requesting a course re-rating
when and if they determine it is warranted.

DAILY SCHEDULE OF PLAY
The Club will be open on Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day. From
Memorial Day through Labor Day the golf course, snack bar, and pool will be
open at 11:00 a.m. including Mondays. All players must register in the Golf
Shop. During the rest of the year facilities generally are closed on Mondays
and no golfers are allowed on the golf course.

Open play. All players must register in the Golf Shop.

Club scheduled tournaments will take priority on the tee times over open
play and non-tournament golfers may not be permitted to interfere with the
tournament unless the Tournament Committee
approves their play.

JUNIOR GOLFERS
Juniors under 18 years of age may play during the non-restricted times or
days, and shall observe all the rules applying to adult
members.
All junior golfers will be certified by one of Baywood’s Golf Professionals
before they are allowed to play the course without an accompanying adult.
An “Approved Junior Bag Tag” will be issued by the Golf
Professional only for those juniors who have adequate knowledge of golf rules
and etiquette, and have the ability to keep their place on the course without
holding up play. Juniors without an “Approved Junior Bag Tag” must be
accompanied by an adult who must
supervise the junior’s play.

All guests must be registered by the member, spouse, or significant other at
the Golf Shop, and the member will be held responsible for any debts
incurred by the guest in any of the club facilities.
No local guest (a resident of Humboldt County) may use the golf course
facilities more than once in any calendar month. The member, spouse, or
significant other who registers a guest is responsible for determining that such
a guest has not played previously in that time period.
Guest who reside outside of Humboldt County and are staying with a
member, may play golf multiple times during their visit with the payment of
the appropriate green fee.

A member, member’s spouse or significant other may have a

maximum of three guests before 1:00 p.m. A member, member’s spouse or

significant other may have a maximum of seven guests after 1:00 p.m. with prior

approval of the Golf Shop.

Social members, their spouses or significant others may play 18 holes in any

calendar month upon payment of the appropriate green fee. Social members, their

spouses or significant others are not

authorized to sponsor unaccompanied guests.

Members of other comparable private clubs that extend reciprocal privileges will be

allowed to use the golf course facilities upon

payment of green fees. Guests must show a membership card from their club.

All those who desire to play as a reciprocal guest must have their Head Golf

Professional personally contact the Golf Professional of Baywood Golf and Country

Club. The Golf Professional, Assistant Golf Professional, or General Manager are the

only ones authorized to extend such guest play at Baywood Golf and Country Club.

No exceptions! GREEN FEES:

GOLF ETIQUETTE
Course Care

Before leaving a bunker, a player should carefully rake and smooth over all holes
and footprints made by the player.

Through the green, a player should insure that any turf cut or
displaced by him or her is replaced at once and pressed down or filled with sand and
that any damage to the putting green made by the ball or player is carefully repaired.

GOLF CART POLICIES
The following rules have been established by the Board of Directors for your safety
and must be followed at all times:
1. Carts may not get closer than 30 feet from any green or sand bunker. A greater

distance will be required if the green is
surrounded by depressions or mounds. Small blocks or rope will be used along
paths where cart traffic is prohibited. The use of a handicap flag does not waive
these requirements.
2. During the winter months, the Green Superintendent has the right to require golf
carts on paths at all times.
3. No more than two people to ride in a rental cart.
4. Please use cart paths whenever possible. Please do not drive over wet areas.
Please avoid sharp turns. When golf carts are allowed off the cart paths, the 90
degree rules shall be
observed. Consult cart instructions for more information.
5. Rental cart operators must be licensed drivers at least 18 years of age. No minors
are allowed to operate a rental cart at
anytime.
6. Members are responsible for any damage to the golf course or to golf carts,
whether handled by themselves, their families, significant others or guests.
7. The use of gas powered golf carts on the club premises is prohibited unless
existing member has been “grandfathered in”.

GOLF CART STORAGE AND
PRIVATE GOLF CART USAGE
See the Golf Professional for cart storage and private cart usage agreements.

BAYWOOD WOMEN’S GOLF ASSOCIATION (BWGA)
All women, whether golfing or social members, spouses or
significant others, are eligible for BWGA membership. The purpose of the
organization is to provide a good golfing program, to
encourage participation, and to promote fellowship.

COURTESY ON THE COURSE
In the interest of all, players should play without delay. No player shall play until the
players in front are out of range.
If there is an entire open hole in front of your group, and the group behind is being
delayed by your group, you must allow faster groups to play through. Aggressive
monitoring from the Golf Shop

will occur, and infractions will be noted on an incident sheet, logged by the Golf Shop
staff.

Players searching for balls should signal the players behind them to pass as soon as it
becomes apparent that the ball will not easily be found. They should not search for
five minutes before doing so. They should not continue play until the players following
them have passed and are out of range.

When the play of a hole has been completed, player shall immediately leave the
putting green.
Players must always check in at the Golf Shop before commencing play. Players playing
an abbreviated round are not permitted to cut in during times of continuous play
when their play would in any way interfere with players who are playing a whole
round.

Marshals on the course are there to insure enjoyable golf for
everyone. Kindly abide by their suggestions.

SWIMMING POOL
The swimming pool is generally open from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. from Memorial

significant others. All guests must register with the lifeguard upon arrival.

swim may be left unattended at the pool, and is
required to stay in the shallow end.
Untrained children are required to wear rubber pants and diapers beneath swim
suits.
Persons with fever, cold, skin, eye, nose, or throat infections are not permitted to use
the pool.
No bottles or glassware are permitted in the pool area, and objects are not to be
thrown into the pool.

occasions (50¢++ per person cake charge).

feet allowed in the clubhouse.

updates.

9. Any member-owner on a LOA will be responsible for payment of any
special assessments, as defined by the Board of Directors, which may be
levied during the period of the LOA. The BOD reserves the right to
impose other terms and conditions at the time the LOA is approved.

10.In order for a member on a LOA to be reinstated to the Club, such
member must submit a written request to the Secretary of the BOD for
such reinstatement. Reinstatement as a member will be as of the date
of approval by the BOD. Reinstatement to membership will be to the
same class of membership before the LOA

11.Members returning to Club membership will not be required to pay any
incremental initiation fee so long as the written request for
reinstatement of their membership is received prior to the expiration of
the LOA. Requests received after that deadline will be considered a new
application for membership by a former member and would require the
payment of an initiation fee in effect at that time.

FEES, DUES, AND OTHER CHARGES
The initiation fees, monthly dues, minimum charges, transfer fees, and
any other type of charge for each membership category shall be fixed by
the Board of Directors. A schedule of such fees, dues, and other charges
shall be available upon request from the club business office.

APPLICATION FOR ELECTION TO MEMBERSHIP
Membership in Baywood Golf and Country Club is a privilege, not a
right. Any application for membership shall be in writing and signed by
the applicant and spouse or significant other, if applicable. Each
application shall be endorsed in writing by at least two members in good
standing with the club.
Upon election or rejection, the Club Manager shall notify the applicant
and the applicant’s member sponsors. In case of rejection, no reason
shall be given.
Full Golf, Social, and Non-Resident membership applicants must
purchase 6 shares of Baywood stock within one year of Board approval of
said membership if applicant wants voting rights and/or to Hold office.

POLICY FOR DELINQUENT ACCOUNTS
1. Unpaid balances of 30 days or longer shall be charged a late fee as

determined by the Board of Directors.
2. If any account has not been paid within 45 days after the close of the

month, a letter will be mailed, giving the member until the end of the
month to pay the balance in full or make other arrangements.
3. If there is no reply to the first letter by the end of the month in which
it is mailed, a second letter will be mailed on the first of the following
month. The account would be 60 days old at this time, and the
member may be suspended effective

immediately.
4. If the account is not brought current within 30 days the

membership may be terminated, and formal collection action will
begin.
5. A suspended member shall be liable for the payment of all dues,
assessments and other club charges during the period of suspension.
An expelled member shall be liable for the payment of all dues,
assessments and other club charges theretofore accrued and unpaid
which exist on the date of his or her

expulsion.

SUSPENSION AND EXPULSION
The Board of Directors shall have the power, and without any liability
whatsoever to any person affected, to suspend from and deny all privileges of
the club for such period and on such terms as it may impose, or to expel any
member for conduct, which in its opinion, is likely to be prejudicial to the
welfare, interest, repute or character of the club. A suspended member shall
be liable for the payment of all dues, assessments, and other club charges
during the period of suspension. An expelled member shall be liable for the
payment of all dues, assessments, and other club charges theretofore accrued
and unpaid which exist on the date of his or her expulsion.

HOLE-IN-ONE POLICY
1. The Baywood hole-in-one insurance plan, hereinafter known as the “fund,”

is administered by the Golf Professional.
2. Membership in the fund is open on a voluntary basis to all male and female

golfers of Baywood. A fee of $1 is charged when a person initially joins the
fund, which automatically occurs when the golfer registers for handicap
service. Additional assessments are levied when the balance of the fund
drops below $300. Withdrawal from participation in the fund is contingent
on written request from the member.
3. Members of the fund are insured for making a hole-in-one on the Baywood
golf course on any day that Baywood is open for play. To qualify for
coverage, the ball coming to rest in the cup must be the player’s initial shot
from the tee on that particular hole and enter the cup unassisted. The
player must be accompanied by at least one other golfer who can attest to
the occurrence. The player must be playing a prescribed round of golf of 18
holes or in a sanctioned nine-hole tournament.
(For recognition by the U.S.G.A. and certain manufacturers of golf equipment,
eighteen holes are required.) Others not playing with the member, but
witnessing the event, may attest thereto.
4. Should the member make a hole-in-one at Baywood, one drink per person
is offered to those present at Baywood that same day, up to a maximum
expenditure of $250, after the member completes his or her round of golf.
All complimentary drinks cease when the member leaves the clubhouse
whether or not the full $250 was served in drinks.

5. In the event of a hole-in-one being made at another regulation golf
course, the member is insured for a maximum of $250 in drinks at
that facility. The conditions for qualifying the event for acceptance
will be the same as described above. The fund reimburses the
member, as supported by chits signed by the member, upon proper
certification from the manager or golf pro of the other club of the
occurrence.

6. There is a perpetual hole-in-one plaque displayed in the
Baywood clubhouse. Whenever a hole-in-one is made at
Baywood, the member’s name, date, and the number of the hole
involved will be inscribed on the plaque.
