A step towards leap
Foreword...
A great accomplishment
shouldn't be the end of the road,
just the starting point for
the next leap forward…
- Harvey Mackay
Yoginder Sahni
Head - Professional Education, Meril Academy
Sometimes to change a situation you are in, requires you to take a giant leap. But, you won't be able to
fly unless you are willing to transform. Without leaps of imagination or dreaming, we lose the
excitement of possibilities. Each of us have inner thermostat setting that determines how much
passion, success and creativity we allow ourselves to enjoy for the big leap.
Meril Academy is growing by leaps and bound to create a big pool of talent through Academic activities by
involving leading faculties from India and across globe, who share their enriching expertise and enhance
skills of young surgeons for better surgical out come.
The purpose of inviting Health care channel partners for “Big leap” the mega event at Academy was to show
them a bigger picture of how healthcare sector in India is burgeoning and is expected to reach $6 billion (Rs.
40,000 crore) by 2020. Cost advantages like Growing hospitalization costs, rising elderly population and a
need for personalized medical attention have fuelled a rapid increase in India's home healthcare services
sector, which is set to grow manifold in the coming years, say the stakeholders.
At Academy, we have taken the lead to get associated with major associations such as ASI (The
Association of Surgeons of India), AMASI (Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India), ABSI
(Association of Breast Surgeons of India) and now, we have achieved one more milestone by partnering
with AWR Surgeons(Abdominal Wall reconstruction) in conducting the first of its kind skill course for
advance Hernia procedures and we are also looking forward to invite President of FOGSI (Fellow ship of
Obstetrics & Gynecological Society of India) to see our state-of-the art facilities and will be initiating Obs &
Gyne training programs under their banner.
In the coming months, we are going to witness good changes by enhancing the ambience at academy
which will further infuse creativity and excitement for the visiting guests.
From the core of my heart, I sincerely thank all Health Care Professionals and Meril leadership team for
being a committed partner in leading the educational journey.
I am also incredibly grateful to the entire Academy team, who work tirelessly to bring every event alive in its
true form. I’m truly excited about the future of Meril Academy and I believe the best is yet to come in this
educational journey.

“Tell me and I forget, Teach me & I may remember, INVOLVE me & I LEARN.”
The noble words said by one of the greatest Leaders of all times, Benjamin Franklin holds
true in every field. It has become imperative in today’s Highly Competitive World that we
discover the high leverage nuances that differentiate Professional Development &
Education from mere Training. In my opinion as a Marketing Professional, customers
(internal/external) in healthcare today don’t only seek products or services; they seek
solutions to their challenges. Providing these solutions is how we can differentiate
ourselves in their minds and this is where Meril Academy has always played an
instrumental role in aiding the Sales & Marketing team to achieve it. In a constantly

Expert's Speak...
“I am here in this beautiful venue of Meril Academy in Vapi. This is in behalf of an invite lecture
from the Indian Dental Association (IDA) – Vapi- Valsad chapter, what amazes me is this is
the first time the centre has been given to a dental association and I have had got the
privilege of taking the podium and lecturing here. Let me acknowledge the fact that this is
an absolutely stunning facility; it has global standards, what is most pleasing to me is the
amount of efforts that has put into getting the smaller detail correct. It is not just made to
please the speaker with the stroking facility which they have but more importantly the
comfort that is offered to every delegate who are in the audience. The providences that
have been made to cater the needs that they have right on their desk. It is a beautiful facility
with lot of lush greenery outside and amazing audio visual aid on the inner side. I am certain
that there is a lot of planning that has gone into its execution and one thing that i know is, with
the times to come and years to go by Meril Academy will have the name on the global frontier.
Undoubtedly, it is making our country proud, and I'm glad to be associated with the same. I even look forward to more
such programs in this wonderful setup.”
- Dr. Moez Khakiani (Prosthodontics & Oral Implantology - Khakiani's Dental Kare)
“This is my first visit to Meril Academy. I’m very much impressed with the infrastructure,
ambience and overall hospitality given by all the people involved at Meril Academy.
Regarding the educational activities, initially we professionals as doctors are not very
well versed with the business atmosphere involved in the hospital management. This
approach taken by Meril to educate us is very encouraging and i hope that our fellow
colleagues should attend such training so that they will also get their expertise in
managing the hospital. I have seen that the Academy has lot of scopes regarding the
training of the Medical professions in different aspects ranging from the skill
development program to hands-on training.”
- Dr. Chandan Kumar Borathakur (Managing Director – Golaghat Nursing Home Pvt. Ltd.)
“I am into surgery from last 30 years and I am very much impressed from this Academic
setup. The best in the country I would say because I have seen many others. It is very
heartening to see that many things you have done to improve the quality and teaching
of the surgical specialties in this country for the young surgeons. I wish all the very best
for this institution. I am sure this will lead our country in the training and research in the
field of surgical specialties.”
