Candidate Bios

We encourage you to learn all you can about the seven BOD candidates before casting your vote.
Therefore, the following is a brief bio, candidacy statement and conflict of interest disclosure information

provided by each candidate.

Russell (Russ) Dickinson

Russ and Chris retired to Savannah Lakes Village in 2011. They have been married for 49 years and have two
grown children, one in the Seattle area and the other in Anchorage. Russ was born and raised in Canada, graduated
from the University of Waterloo in 1975 with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering after which he went to work for
a large global chemical company. He transferred to the US in 1992 where he led teams in developing business
information technology strategy for manufacturing operations across several business lines. After 34 years Russ
retired in 2009 to establish his own consulting business providing support for design of manufacturing operations
systems in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Kellogg Brown and Root.

Russ was first elected to the SLV Board in 2014. If elected, under the term limit conditions of our Covenants
and Restrictions this will be his last term. While on the Board he was the Chairperson of the Ad Hoc Committee
for Governing Documents, the committee responsible for updates to our By-Laws and Declaration of Covenants
and Restrictions. Before that he served on the Strategic Planning Committee in different capacities. He also has
served as Board Liaison to the Golf Committee, the Events Committee and is currently on the Tennis/Pickleball
Committee.
His extensive experience on the Board and various committees give him a unique depth of insight into the workings of SLV, its history and
the many issues facing it today. His career in a large multi-national, exposure to a variety of cultures and breadth of business involvement

Candidate Bios

have afforded him the opportunity to develop excellent people, leadership and business systems skills that would be an asset and compliment
to SLV’s leadership team.

• Statement of Candidacy: "Chris and I see SLV as a great place to live with potential for a very bright and prosperous future. SLV’s
success depends on growth but we must do so while maintaining the character and sense of community that we have all come to appreciate.
With my experience on the Board and various committees I have a particularly good understanding of the issues and challenges SLV faces
as well as the concerns and needs of our members. My career in business systems development for a large multi-national has provided me
with a breadth of business, technical, people and leadership skills. I know how to work with people from many disciplines and persuasions.
I want to continue serving as one of your SLV Board Directors to continue in shaping SLV's future and help ensure that we become the
premier adult community in the Southeast. I believe I have the breadth and depth of skills, and a demonstrated commitment to help make
that happen. I am committed to a constructive and purposeful working relationship between the board, our POA leadership and SLV
members. I believe in transparency, decisions based on data, and active engagement with all our members. I know I have the experience, the
skills, and the commitment to see Savannah Lakes Village become what it can be.”

John H. Gray

For the last fifty-four years of my life, I have lived in the Augusta, Georgia area. I have spent thirty-seven years
around the area of McCormick, boating, hunting and camping. One of my dreams has been to live on the lake,
and to retire one day, living in the McCormick area. I have been employed as a certified police officer for forty-five
years. During my tenure, I worked my way through the ranks in Road Patrol. I was then promoted to Investigator
as the youngest person to be promoted to that position at 23 years old. I served as a general Investigator, and
subsequently was promoted to Investigator Sergeant with the Violent Crimes Division from 1980 until 2000. I
spent the remainder of my tenure as a Task Force Commander in charge of the Region 3 K-9 Task Force for
the state of Georgia, under the employment of the Richmond County Sheriff ’s Office. My wife, Rhonda, and I
purchased a lot in SLV in 2016 with the intention to build. In May 2018, we found our forever home at 6 Overlook
Point. February 2019, I semi-retired and worked in the reserves for Richmond County Sherriff ’s Office until
November 2019. Savannah Lakes, you now have my full attention!

During my tenure with the Richmond County Sheriff ’s Office, I received the following specialized training:
Hostage Negotiator,(Georgia Police Academy); Criminal Profiler, (Georgia Post Academy); Supervisor Management (Georgia State
University); Instructor for Homeland Security (New Mexico Tech); General Instructor Homeland Security, (Anniston Alabama); K-9 Task
Force Commander for Region 3, state of Georgia. For the last twenty years, I had the responsibility of financial planning and grant writing
for the Region 3 K-9 Task Force. The K-9 Task Force was responsible for covering support for thirteen surrounding counties. I served on
the advisory board for the Richmond County Animal Shelter, been a member of AMBUCS and the Augusta Rotary Club.

• Statement of Candidacy: “Being a candidate for the Board of Directors for Savannah Lakes will not be taken lightly. There is no
doubt that SLV residents share similar concerns, and we appreciate the many wonderful benefits currently available to us. I will push for
clean water at a reasonable rate, work to improve safe roads by working with department heads and fellow Board Directors to improve
infrastructure and promote economic growth. I have developed tools through years of training as a negotiator, years of supervision/
management, and years of managing a budget. I understand what makes the wheel turn. Let me do one of the things I do best, watch out
for and take care of our community. I would appreciate your vote this October!”

Candidate Bios

Dennis Kase

Dennis Kase was born in Lincoln Nebraska and at the age of 16 years moved with his family to California. He
met his wife, Kathie, while in college and upon graduation with a degree in Industrial Engineering and working
fulltime, attained his MBA from California State University. Dennis’ career progressed through a highly diverse
background including positions in aerospace (Hughes Aircraft), medical supplies (Bentley Labs, American Hospital
Supply), food (Life Savers), and consumer products (Amway). He rapidly rose through the corporate ranks as a lead
engineer/manager improving operations and analyzing capital expenditures to successfully managing multiple plants
and finally as a consultant implementing operations improvements through the employee involvement/teamwork
concept. Some of his major accomplishments include: saving a client company from bankruptcy and returning
two affiliates of major corporations to profitability; developed and taught companywide seminars in operations
improvement methods and was on Ohio State University’s panel for “Achieving Manufacturing Excellence”;
installed Microsoft’s Great Plains costing system which shifted marketing/sales emphasis to more profitable
products; developed Human Resources policies and implemented hourly performance evaluation systems essentially
eliminating employee turnover.
Kathie and Dennis bought their property in 2001 and finally settled in SLV in 2012 after traveling the country in a motorhome for 5
years. Once here, Dennis wasted no time in getting started as an active member of the community by serving on multiple committees
and participating in the many SLV activities. He has been on the Finance Committee (Chairman); SLV Tax Commission; MSG9 Steering
Committee (Vice-President, Tournament Coordinator); Golf Committee (MSG9 Liaison); and Events Committee (Finance Committee
Liaison). Some of his accomplishments include: lead the effort to expand the Golf Annual Membership Program to include 9-hole play
which now accounts for 40% of all rounds played; chaired the Finance Sub-Committee which developed the Budget Process Guidelines to
better manage SLV’s financials; justified the purchase of new golf carts; established a database of activities for the Fire Department and First
Responders to better evaluate seasonal trends and future needs; coordinated multiple golf tournaments for MSG9 members as well as for all
SLV golfers of every skill level with the proceeds going to golf course beautification; worked with the SLV CFO in the development of an
attendance level requirement necessary for events being planned to “break even”.

• Statement of Candidacy: “My career experience in capital expenditures and operations improvements and now SLV committees uniquely
provide me with the capability to be immediately effective in moving the community forward. I have been successful in making companies
more profitable and revitalizing failing companies through sound financial expenditures, improving operational efficiencies, and making
them places where people want to work by listening to those who actually do the work.
“If elected to the Board of Directors, I will continue this practice by working with the developers, builders and administration while
listening to the property owners and potential buyers to provide facilities, services and a lifestyle that they desire. Furthermore, and has been
demonstrated in my career and at SLV, I get things done.”

Greg Walker

I met Jenny at Miami University, married in 1980 and moved to Rochester NY where we raised four wonderful
children. We now have five grandchildren. During our years in Rochester Jenny & I dreamed of escaping snow
and winter after retirement. That dream led us to purchase property in SLV during 2006. A few years later, Jenny
& I started spending our vacations at SLV. The amenities, value proposition and the welcoming nature of the SLV
community solidified that SLV was the right place for us. During those early visits, Jenny & I volunteered to help
with the NGA tournament hosted at the Monticello Golf Course.

I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Systems Analysis from Miami University. After graduation, I worked
38 years for Kodak in roles of increasing responsibility driving business process change utilizing information
technology. My experiences spanned roles in multiple business process areas including R&D, manufacturing,
logistics, purchasing, accounting, sales operations and supply chain. I was a member of a select team which was
tasked with reengineering and implementing business process change across all business units worldwide. This role
allowed me to interact and engage technical and business leaders inside and outside the corporation. I retired from
Kodak as the IT Director of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) within the Corporate Information Systems organization. In that
role, I had responsibility for setting strategic direction related to information technology investments. In order to successfully accomplish this
role, I was required to engage executive leadership to understand business goals, understand technology direction, organization capabilities

Candidate Bios

and business constraints to define strategic investments plans over a 3-5 year horizon.
Jenny & I relocated permanently to SLV in February of 2018. Since moving to SLV, we both have become active members within

the community. I am currently the Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, a member of the MGA BOD’s, active member of the
McCormick Lions Club and a member of the Good Shepard Men’s Club. During 2020, I was the tournament Chairperson for the Lions
Club Golf Classic. Even with all the Covid restrictions, the tournament was a Roaring success.

• Statement of Candidacy: “I envision SLV as a growing and vibrant community with a great set of amenities and a strong value
proposition compared to planned community peers. As a member of the SLV BOD’s I want to improve alignment across the BOD’s, SLV
Leadership Team and the standing committees. SLV community members are diverse and talented. As a board member I also want to
explore ways to increase the engagement of community members.
“Since moving to SLV, I have actively engaged in various roles across the community. My interest in running for the SLV BOD’s is a
continuation of that engagement and allows me to contribute my talents back to the community. Throughout my career, I worked across
many business process areas. While my experiences are aligned with leveraging information technology, the experience of understanding
organizational goals and defining strategies based on both internal and external factors is leverageable across a broader context.”

Carolyn (Carol) L. Williams

I grew up in South Carolina-raised by a mom who owned a small country store after losing my dad to heart dis-
ease when I was 7. She was my inspiration to achieve in life and never quit. After completing two degrees at Clem-
son University - a BS-Mathematics (Computer Science) and a MS-Mathematics (Operations Research), my journeys
took me to Texas as the first female engineer (industrial) employee at Monsanto-Texas City where I helped develop
and train on Monsanto’s first online maintenance system. I then came back to South Carolina and then to North
Carolina and back to Simpsonville, SC for 30 years before moving to SLV in December, 2017. I changed careers
while also teaching on the college level during the first part of this time and qualified to become a CPA- passing the
exam on the first try. I found my passion and life’s work then and ran my own firm for 24 years -selling it only to
move here. I still have an active CPA license- which means 40 hours of education each year to stay current- and still
belong to the SCACPA and the AICPA.

After dating 4.5 years, I married my husband of 45 years. I have 2 children- a daughter who is an active Army
Reserve JAG Major, a son who is a Navy Lieutenant. Since my husband was an Air Force person, we definitely have
a military family story in our lives. I also have been blessed with my German Shepherd Josey- my third child I am told.
Since coming to SLV, I have served on the Finance Committee since mid-2018 and been a faithful BOD meeting attendee-ask any current
member. I also attend PAC and SPC committee meetings. I am a Rec Center annual member and an OAC member. In addition, I love fishing,
reading, and being involved in the community as a whole. (I used to play golf and tennis in my younger days, but my lack of talent laid those
to rest.) We attend McCormick UMC where I have volunteered with the Backpack Ministry.

• Statement of Candidacy: “Give your all and give your best is my philosophy for taking on a fiduciary duty such as being a BOD member.
Listen to the community you serve and never let personal opinions override the right decision for the community as a whole. Respect
everyone. Never be afraid to ask questions or to learn from others. There are always choices and you have to live with and take responsibility
for the decisions you make.
“I said when I came here that this was a hidden gem and it still is. I would like to help this community to have stable, responsible finances
and to continue to emerge as the star it is. We will have to work together-all of us- every committee and every member -to achieve that, but
this place is worth it. This is our home-both SLV and South Carolina. I want it to shine.”

Paul Wojciechowski

I started university in 1973 at Gannon College in Erie, PA with an ROTC scholarship. Four years later I was
commissioned in the Regular Army and after initial training I was deployed to Germany. While there I commanded
a mechanized infantry company and completed an MBA from the University of Southern California. In 1982 I
was selected to obtain an advanced degree at the Georgia Institute of Technology prior to joining the teaching
faculty at the US Military Academy at West Point. Among other assignments I commanded the Newport Army
Ammunition Plant near Terre Haute, IN, managed the base closure division at the US Army Environmental Center,
and commanded the Radford Army Ammunition Plant near Blacksburg, VA. I retired from the Army in 1997
and began a second career in the petrochemical industry. Over the next 20 years I led the development of seven
chemical facilities in the USA, Russia, Saudi Arabia, China, Brazil, and Thailand. In 2001 I received the President’s
Award from the Parsons Corporation and in 2004 I was recognized by the Russian Federation for leadership in the
development of a chemical weapons destruction facility there. My capstone project was based in Beijing, China
where I simultaneously directed the engineering and construction of two super absorbent polymer production plants, one in Nanjing, China
and the other in Bahia State, Brazil.
Sue Ellen and I were married in 1978 in Erie, PA and have two children, Sara (deceased) and Peter. We also have two grandchildren,
Atticus and Eden, who live in Erie, PA. We moved to the Southwind neighborhood of SLV in July 2019 for the weather, the quality of the
community, and to have a house on the lake.

• Statement of Candidacy: “I am competing for a seat on the BOD because I want to constructively serve this community among its
next generation of leaders. I offer a very strong commitment and the experience needed to steer the SLV community through its financial,
public safety, and infrastructure challenges of continued growth. As a new resident I bring a broad perspective of new ideas. I am out
front and I ask questions that provoke thought, challenge the status quo, and bring forward practical alternative solutions. I make good
decisions after careful deliberation, I am an excellent communicator, I am a consensus builder, and I have a strong motivation to not just
live in but to substantially contribute to and lead the community where I reside. Before moving to SLV I was the president of a community
association in Pennsylvania where I led the financing, development, and environmental permitting of a community wastewater disposal
system. And from my working careers I bring to the SLV BOD a disciplined work ethic honed by relevant worldwide management
experience in large and diverse organizations. I am currently serving as the vice chair of the SLV Architectural Control Committee where I
was the driving force to revise and make more understandable the outdated ACC Rules and Regulations document.”

Sharon Ziemek

Sharon was born in Queens, NY. At seven years old, her family moved out to Long Island. Over the next 20
years she watched as the town grew from sparsely populated woodland to areas of houses within feet of each other,
strip malls, supermarkets and industry.

Upon graduating from high school, she achieved an AAS degree in Telecommunications. She opted to take a
typing position at Underwriter’s Laboratories rather than commute to Manhattan daily and was quickly promoted to
an Engineering Assistant. She enrolled in Dowling College’s Physics program as a night student and completed her
degree in two years, graduating with a BS in Physics, Math and Natural Science.

She took a job in Boston working for Chas. T. Main as a mechanical engineer. She later moved to United En-
gineers and Constructors and was assigned to work at construction of Seabrook Station in NH, covering for an
engineer (Bill) out on short term medical leave. She and Bill were married seven years later and their son, Brian
came along 3 years after that.

She left her engineering career to be a stay at home Mom. While at home she developed skills as a goldsmith,
earned a certificate as a diamontologist from GIA, and decided to open a small jewelry repair shop. They ended up opening a full service
Jewelry store, only to close five years later. She re-entered the workforce working for Pan Am Airways. The airline shut down, but she was
transferred to the environmental department of their sister business, Pan Am Railways. As an Environmental District Manager, she was
responsible for environmental compliance for railroad properties in four states. She obtained Waste Water Treatment and Water Operator’s
Licenses and ran their WW treatment plant and potable water system and was Project Manager for construction of a fuel tank farm. After 5
years on call 24/7, she left to be the EHS manager for Barnhardt Manufacturing. In 2018 she retired and she and Bill found their way to SLV.
Since being at SLV, Sharon has served as a member of the ACC.

Candidate Bios

• Statement of Candidacy: “I am a candidate for the Board of Directors because It is my desire to serve the owners and residents of SLV
in a role that combines fiscal responsibility for the here and now with a vision of sustainable growth and improvement for not just our
futures here at SLV, but for future generations as well. I admire the village concept that has been developed here and would like to ensure
that it is an atmosphere that is maintained and nurtured. I love living here and have already been sharing the experience with as many as I
can, using social media and word of mouth. I believe that my strong organizational skills learned along with my varied life experience, my
successes and my failures, have taught me lessons that can provide a strong foundation for decisions needed to be made to maintain the
culture and growth here at SLV.”
