LovelysCar Club Honors & Thanks
for Contributions
by BOB STOCKTON
fter more than a decade in McCormick, Larry
and Mary Lovely are returning to Michigan; and
the McCormick Car Club (MCC) gave them a
gala farewell “banquet” at Michelle’s Pizza Parlor
early last month.
Forty car club members came out to thank the
Lovelys for founding the club in 2012 and leading
it through its initial years. The Lovelys moved to
Savannah Lakes Village in 2005 and then built a new

farm house and barn in Plum Branch in 2010. They hosted the initial meetings of the MCC and the club’s annual picnics for a few years.
MCC presented the couple with its “one and only ever” Founders Chrome Wheel Award, which read:
“The McCormick Car Club, a creation of Larry Lovely and wife Mary, has grown and matured beyond all its members’ dreams. In

recognition of and thanks for the Lovelys’ founding and nurturing the club from its earliest days, we present the MCC’s one and only ever
Founder’s Chrome Wheel Award.”

Membership has grown steadily; and the club has participated in car shows, cruises, road trips, kart racing, dinners and picnics,
automotive seminars and more. Members went to the famous Amelia Island “Concoursd’Elegance” last month and are going on a five-day
tour of Kentucky’s Bourbon Trail in April.•

Pets of the Month

ELLIE

HI Y’ALL! MY name is Ellie, and I’m what you call “Labrador-ish.” That means I probably have some
retriever mixed in; but unless you want to foot the bill for one of those doggie DNA tests, you’re just
going to have to take my word on it.

I’ve been quite the busy gal having already raised 9 rambunctious pups. They have all found loving
humans to call their own; and now at 2 years old, it’s my time! I have a bit of a limp from an old mishap,
but it doesn’t slow me down or keep me from play time. I am a petite 39 pounds and a perfect lady
while going for a stroll, so no worries about being knocked off your feet. People say I’m sweet and
affectionate. After 9 pups, I’ve put motherhood behind me (yup –got “fixed”) plus I’ve had all my shots
and had them put a microchip in so you can’t lose me. All that’s left for you to do is call.

CINNAMON

THEY CALL ME “Cinnamon” and I’m not crazy about cats. When you have a personality as big as mine,
another cat around just seems redundant. The jury is still out on dogs as I really have not had the
pleasure of their company. Perhaps it could work, but no promises.

I love people –especially the kind that lavish me with attention and delicious treats. But –being a cat-
I’d appreciate if you’d make an appointment first. While we are being“real,”I might as well go ahead and
say that little kids who like to pull kitty’s tail or give unsolicited rib-crushing hugs can “talk to the paw.”

I am a lot of fun though –both indoors and out- and a bit of a scamp. I love my naps and will go
to great lengths to get comfortable –even if it means rearranging your linen closet. I have all my
paperwork in order – spayed & shots and I’m ready to roll!

Please leave a message at 864-391-2349 or email us at [email protected] if you are interested in learning more about our available dogs and cats.
