Church Newsletter July 2024

101 WARREN MOTT PARKWAY * HATTIESBURG, MS 39401 * 601-583-9243 EMAIL: [email protected] WEBSITE: WWW.SHADYGROVE-CHURCH.ORG G. R. A. C . E. {GOD’ S RICHES AT CHRIST’ S EXPENSE} REV. DR. REGINALD WOULLARD, PASTOR July 2024 Volume 5 Edition 7 SHADY GROVE BAPTIST CHURCH GRACE:- God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense, is unmerited undeserved favor! The era or dispensation of grace lies in a different timeline to all other dispensations. Dispensation of Grace Dispensation of grace began immediately on the first day of the week after Jesus’ resurrection. Before Jesus death and resurrection, the world and the entire universe was in the era of law. GRACE: God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense It is referred to as the era or dispensation of grace because God reveals His undying love and favor to humanity by sacrificing his own begotten son to cleanse the sins of every human being who accepts His son. Instead of God punishing humanity, He punished or poured His wrath on His own and this is the great favor God did to humanity; grace. Every person who accepts and believes in Jesus Christ will never be punished for his/ her sins because Jesus was punished once and for all; for you and me. Salvation by grace through faith. Jesus is the greatest attorney and in the judgment seat as the accuser (Satan) stands to accuse you and me, Jesus will stand and show the marks in his hands, the mark in His side and reveal to the father the price He paid for you and me on the cross. That means, you and me, will never be judged since Jesus took away our iniquity sins and transgressions and paid the price for us. Matthews 20:28 “Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” This is the grace. Grace to inherit the kingdom of heaven at the expense of Jesus Christ. We have everything we have because of grace. We have money, cars, riches and wealth, not because we have done anything for God or we obeyed His commands, we tithe, and so on and so on; but because Jesus Christ paid the price for once and for all. Humanity did not deserve grace. We did not deserve Jesus to be cursed and die on the cross as the law demands for our sins. Instead, we are supposed to be hung on the cross and die when we sin. God is supposed to pour His wrath on us when we sin and disobey Him but because of His love for us, He gave His son to pay the price. This is grace; the undeserved favor. VISION: MANY PEOPLE DON’T WANT TO HEAR GRACE SGBC | 11 A person said to me, ‘You must give God 10% to receive.’ I said, ‘No! God’s Riches At…’ Before I finished speaking, the person was walking away and said to me, ‘Tell me that later.’ Many people, even those calling themselves Christians don’t want to hear GRACE: – God’s Riches At Christ Expense. They do not want to hear that we receive God’s blessings which come with Riches by GRACE not by our works (which includes tithing, sacrifices, offerings, etc.). The Bible is divided clearly into two covenants; the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. The Old Covenant is the Law while the New Covenant is GRACE and the two covenants are very different from one another. Even when the Bible is clearly divided between these two covenants (testaments), many people do not see this and the huge great differences. In the Old Covenant humanity was doing work to God for blessings, sin atonement and salvation which included sacrifices, offerings, tithing, etc. but in the New Covenant, Jesus Christ on the cross and His blood replaces all humanity work to God. For God has no pleasure in offerings, tithing and sacrifices. Heb 10:8: Above when he said, ’sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin you did not desire, neither had pleasure in them (which are offered according to the law). In the New Covenant, humanity receives God’s blessings, forgiveness of sins and salvation because Jesus paid the price on the cross not by sacrifices, offerings, tithing, etc. If you still sacrifice, tithe and give offerings to receive God’s blessings which come with riches, you are just saying that the work of Jesus Christ on the cross is all in vain; it’s nothing. You are saying that you do not need Jesus Christ, His finished work on the cross and GRACE. If tithing, offerings and sacrifices were sufficient for human to receive God blessings and salvation, God would not have sent His Son to come die on the cross. But because they were not sufficient, God had to sacrifice, offer and tithe His only begotten son on the cross once and for all for humanity to receive blessings, sin atonement and salvation. By doing the things of the Old Covenant (law) in an era of GRACE when Jesus has died on the cross, you are saying that you do not need Jesus, His shed blood and GRACE. Jesus Christ on the cross is everything that God the Father needed and needs from humanity. Jesus Christ is the tithe, the offering and the sacrifice; price paid once and for all. There is nothing else God wants from humanity except to accept and believe in His only begotten Son; accept the price paid Son, Jesus. Jesus on the cross is the only tithe, offering and sacrifice to God that is a sweetsmelling aroma. On the cross Jesus cried, ‘it is finished’ confirming to God the Father and to humanity that He has finished paying the tithe, offering and sacrifice once and for all for humanity to receive blessings, riches, sin atonement and salvation at His expense, and immediately after confirming ‘it is finished’ He gave up His spirit. The choice is yours but the best choice is Jesus on the cross. Without grace you are perishing. Without grace you are missing rapture. Accept Grace. Accept Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the salvation. His GRACE is sufficient for you. Come to grace. Come to Salvation. Receive God’s blessings which come with riches at the expense of Jesus Christ; because of the work He finished on the cross. Deut. 28:2: And all these blessings shall come on you, and overtake you, if you shall hearken unto the voice of the LORD your God. National Parents' Day honors all parents on the fourth Sunday in July, this year it’s July 28th. No matter where our parents may be, this day serves to celebrate their important role in our lives. Throughout our lives, our parents lead us to be independent thinking individuals. As many of us know, those efforts can be challenging. The world is changing as quickly as they grow. Often the sleepless nights and worry seem endless. On this particular Sunday, we honor all parents who do everything to raise and protect their children. NATIONAL PARENTS’ DAY ACTIVITIES • Call or visit them Parents love visits from the kids and grandkids. And let’s face it — they aren’t going to be around forever, as much as we wish they could be. We should tell our parents how much they mean to us. • Tell them they were right Parents are always dispensing wisdom and advice as we grow up, most of it unsolicited. As kids, we often dismiss these truths or ignore them outright. Then, we grow up and have kids of our own — and we realize how right our parents were about pretty much everything all along. • Give them a holiday for the holiday Find out where your parents have always wanted to go and send them on vacation. Take care of every detail so that all your folks have to do is show up at the airport — or the cruise ship terminal! 5 FACTS ABOUT PARENTING 1. You will wonder if you're cut out for this No matter how much you prepare for it, there is no guaranteed way to accomplish parenting successfully. 2. Your kids are a reflection of you Your quirks and mannerisms will be mirrored by your children. 3. You will become your parents You’ll find yourself saying and doing the same things your parents did. 4. Kids shows will become your favorite Your Netflix will be full of kids’ shows and movies, and you won’t really mind. 5. Parenting can be downright heartbreaking Whether it is a milestone your child reached or a setback, everything that your child feels, you will feel tenfold. G.R.A.C.E. {GOD’S RICHES AT CHRIST’S EXPENSE} “For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.”” John 3:16 (Amp.Classic) Ephesians 1:5-8, For He foreordained us (destined us, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will [because it pleased Him and was His kind intent]– [So that we might be] to the praise and the commendation of His glorious grace (favor and mercy), which He so freely bestowed on us in the Beloved. In Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor, Which He lavished upon us in every kind of wisdom and understanding (practical insight and prudence)” (Amp.Classic) What do we deserve - nothing! But God gave because He loves us just that much. Yes, I speak in the present tense because that grace extended back then is the same grace we have today. That free gift and underserved favor. God did this for us no matter our situation or circumstance. I praise Him for it all. I worship Him in spirit and in truth. What is your answer today? Did He do all of this in vain, or have you received God’s Riches at Christ’s Expense to be a better child of The Most High God? Are you glad about this? If you are, please show some sign of your gratefulness for His Grace. Glory Hallelujah, Amen! PRAYER: Father God, Your grace is sufficient for us today. We sometimes take for granted what You have done for us but no more. We are recognizing the goodness and grace You have given to us, and we appreciate You loving us so much that You sent Your Only Son to die, to be raised from the dead and now sit at your right-side interceding for us. Thank you, Father God, for it all. In Jesus’ name Amen! It is so. Humbly submitted by Rev. Cathy Ross Woulard Demetris Foster Encouragement For July SGBC | 16

The cupbearer (Gen 41:12–13) Encouragement For Teens and Young People SGBC | 17 “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.” – I Timothy 4:12 (KJV) What does this Scripture mean? Even though Timothy was probably in his mid to late 30s when the apostle Paul wrote these words, they are perhaps the clearest and the most straight to the point instructions in the New Testament to guide every Christian young person. Don’t let anyone… look down on you think little of you make fun of you treat you as if you are unimportant underestimate you or put you down just because you are young. As a Christian young person, notice the commandment… Be an example to those who believe Be an example of one who does believe Be an example that is worthy to be imitated To be more specific: Be an example by what you say with your words. By how you speak. And in what you teach through your words. Be an example by what you do; by your actions and conduct. By how you carry yourself and in the way you live your life. Be an example by how you love others. Be an example by and through the way the Holy Spirit governs you. Be an example by the way you live out your faith and how you instruct others in the faith. Be an example in your purity and integrity. Let us remember that God designed the psychological, emotional and physical changes and experiences we go through as we mature from childhood into adulthood. Young people are idealistic but their crusading spirits should not be crushed. They should be channeled and used constructively. They can be tenderhearted toward God and want to be given a chance to express their faith. As I searched my Bible for young and godly people to learn from, I was both encouraged and surprised. The three young men listed below were the ones I looked to for comfort, affirmation and guidance. They were my true heroes. I identified with the challenges they faced. The source of their strength and faith gave me hope. Jesus, is the ultimate standard. Joseph – had the opportunity of illicit sexual indiscretion, but he chose to honor God. And if you think you are too young or too ordinary to be used by God, consider one of my personal favorites – Jeremiah. He emerges more as a real person (with all his questions, complaints, deep struggles, disgruntlements, internal conflicts and being misunderstood) Just because you’re young does not mean you can’t make a difference (or have influence) for Jesus and His cause right now.
